I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....

I feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I was....

I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....

In my last post, I shared how I decorated the front porch for Labor Day and an update on the annuals I planted and the faux flowers that I bought in the Spring....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

On Tuesday, evening, I hosted my Family Labor Day celebration......

My son Jim and DIL Danielle work every weekend so they can have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off together and also had to work on Labor Day as Target was open all day long....

So we now celebrate Holidays on Tuesdays unless Target is closed...

I served turkey cheeseburgers.......

Sausage patties.....

Hot Dogs.....

Bob Evan's Mac N Cheese and home made pierogies that I purchased from a local church......

 And deviled eggs....

That is now considered a vintage Tupperware deviled egg container as I bought it 48 years ago!!!!

We also had corn on the cob and tomatoes and onions from the Amish Farmer that I visit weekly for toppings...

After July 4th, I shopped around for some type of seats for my Twin Granddaughters to use when they came to Mimi's house for dinner....

At first, I looked into the seats that clip on the table like the ones I used for my children but since my Dining Room table is an antique one, I was fearful that the  seats would not clear the piece of wood on the table to hook them on....

So I settled on purchasing these from Amazon.....

They are 2 separate pieces that attach to any chair with straps on the bottom that go underneath the chair and also around the back of the chair....

You can see that the back and the bottom of the seat have a rubber like fabric that sort of sticks to the chair.....

They have a strap that goes through this....

To strap the child into.....

The fabric is a vinyl that can be wiped clean and even removed as there is a zipper on the back and the seat cushions....

This can possibly be used until 4 years old as the back cushion can be used as a seat as the child gets older.....

I set a very simple table using a Patriotic tablecloth that my late husband Joe had bought in Big Lot's with pups on it....

The table is now set for 6.....

I used the Patriotic plates that my late friend Anne Marie gifted me, crystal glassware that my next door neighbors gifted me and red handled flatware bought several years ago at Wegman's....

Again, like I have done so since Thanksgiving Day last year, I had Joe's Memorial Candle, from a special All Soul's Day Mass at my church for all parishioners that passed away in the past year, on the table and lit.....

This has become a tradition I have started since Joe passed away....

I do move it off the table when we are eating and place it on top of the Dining Room hutch, keeping it burning in his memory....

I hope to help out with this special Mass at my church this coming year and pass along this tradition that I started using the candle, which was suggested by the Hospice unit where Joe passed away, to the families of those that passed away this past year in my parish...

I placed the chairs with the booster seats on them here in the corner so each parent could sit on the side of each twin....

And here is how it worked out......

The girls were a bit leary at first .....

But settled in nicely!!

Gigi.....

Mom Danielle getting plates ready for the girls.....

Lily....

I brought down 2 of Joe's stuffed Penguins for the girls......

She is crinkling her nose and giggling...

She ended up taking that small bear home with her...

I was so happy that the girls enjoyed the Penguins stuffies!!!

I know Joe would be thrilled!!!!

After eating, the girls just love to run in the circle through Mimi's Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen and hall with Mom and Dad and my grand pups chasing after them!!!

They are giggling the whole time doing so!

Checking out the bear that Hospice volunteers made from one of Joe's Penguin's sweatshirts....

Danielle blowing bubbles on Lily's belly!!

This is Uncle Joey's chair where he always sits......

The funny thing is that Gigi liked teasing her Uncle Joey by crawling up in his chair when Joey would get up.....

Dad Jim making sure she did not fall....

She would then look at Uncle Joey and giggle!!

So they played this little game for quite awhile where he would get up and Gigi would run over and climb up in the chair....

She is looking at Joey who is standing by me!!!

Faye had to get in on the fun too....

Can I tell you how much this melted Uncle Joey's heart?????

Uncle Joey with Azumi....

Faye laying amidst the stuffies that Mimi has for the girls to play with....

Faye is now 5 years old and Azumi is 4 years old....

They are going to come and stay overnight a few times at Mimi's house to get them used to doing so again as Jim, Danielle and the twins will be going to Disney World for close to a week in the beginning of December....

I have to make sure I am done with my Christmas decorating by then....

We all enjoyed a wonderful evening together.....

After the horrible month of August, this was exactly what I needed....

This Mimi's heart was ready to burst after spending time with my family!!!!

I hope you all got to enjoy some part of the Labor Day Holiday weekend with those that you love!!
