And now for a few Personal Notes...
My son Joey and I had a wonderful fun filled afternoon at my church, Saint Maria Goretti's Cash Bingo Saturday afternoon!!
It was great seeing so many of my friends and even some I have not seen in a bit ....
My frineds Carol and Betty selling tickets and handing out the Bingo cards....
Friends Carol and Lucille selling tickets for almost 30 raffle baskets....
Joey even got to speak with one of his former junior high teachers....
We sat with a lovely rowdy group of ladies who kept us laughing!!
Joey enjoyed the food, which sold out...
In fact, they had to turn people away as There was No Room at the Inn , so to speak...
Father Alex even got in on the action as a guest caller...
Several years ago, the church bought a state of the Art Digital Bingo system as our hall is also rented out to other organizations who run Bingo's and we also rent out the system which has paid for itself....
All cash prizes, prizes for the basket raffle and the food was donated by parishioners and businesses...
20 games for $100 each, 4 specials for $400, $500, $700 and $1000!!
Since Joe and I met working at a Bingo, I donated a game in his memory...
The 50/50 chances prize was over $600!!
A wonderful job done by my friend Rosemary and all her volunteers!!!
Joey and I did not win any games but I won a raffle basket which included this gift certificate for a local florist and gift shop...

And I will be sharing what else was in the basket at a later date....
Today, I will be sharing how I decorated my Beverage Bar , the top of the refrigerator and the counter bar decorated for Late Summer/Early Fall in the Kitchen with apples and sunflowers...

The Beverage Area.....

A Dollar Tree sign.....

A wreath I made and sunflower potholders.....

Another Dollar Tree sign.....

My Sweet N Low packets inside an apple mug...

Fresh Apple Cider.....
A mug filled with sweet cream creamers and a red enamelware container filled with flavored tea........

Honey, flavored coffees and a vintage Eight O'Clock bank and a vintage Lipton's Tea canister....

I left the coffee vinyl place mat up on the fridge.....

A vintage yellow enamelware container holds Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa packets.....

A Sunflower sugar and creamer filled with peppermint spoons and sticks and coffee wafers.....

Instant coffee is in the glass jar.....
My mugs.....

A Dollar Tree sunflower place mat was placed under the marble turntable....

Sunflower mugs and one with my initial on it filled with flavored creamers.....

The top of the fridge.....

A sunflower and apple floral arrangement......
A red glass leaf bottle....

An apple I made using a toilet paper roll that I placed inside of a depression glass bowl....

More apples and sunflowers.....

A pumpkin with an apple painted on it and I filled the mason jar lamp with apples.....

The counter bar......

My vintage laundry display on the left side of the counter bar.....

I added apples and sunflowers to the garland above the counter bar.....
On the left side....
One of two Campbell's soup plates I bought at a flea market....
A Campbell's soup mug filled with cough drops....
Soup is perfect for chilly Fall days.....
Another apple I made from a roll of toilet paper placed in the depression glass green bowl ....
That I placed on a red mercury glass candle holder.....
An unfinished wood container that I finished and filled with a few sunflowers....
The right side.....
Another Campbell's soup mug that I filled with granola bars....
And one more toilet paper apple.....
I sewed 2 Dollar Tree sunflower place mats together......
The other Campbell's plate....

A sunflower cafe curtain and apple rug......

On the right side of the counter bar....

I made this using an embroidery hoop.....

Rolling pins and vintage mashers kept in a vintage Planter's Peanuts canister.......

Amazing turn out for bingo, and congrats on winning the gift certificate. Your beverage center is ready for the change in weather. Hoping it gets cooler soon,
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen looks marvelous! What a great bingo afternoon. I am sure people were grateful for an event in the AC! How wonderful to sponsor a game in Joe's memory. A great remembrance of times together. Glad Joey had a good time, too. Men do seem to enjoy the food the most, lol. I took my husband to a tea room once and he was pleasantly surprised with the deliciousness and serving sizes, lol. What great organization and volunteers! And wonderful prizes, too. Can't wait to see the rest of your raffle basket.
