was....

I finally finished decorating the Living Room for Easter....
Today, I will be sharing how I decorated Joe's Grandmother's Hutch in the Living Room and what I call the "foyer" for Easter....
My Living Room is a good size at 16' by 20' with the front door opening directly into it....
I had an area of imported Italian tile installed that runs from my front door to the stairs....
This has greatly saved my carpeting and rugs over the years as we come into the house through the front door.....
You can see that I have placed a chair so that it's back sort of creates a "foyer".....
I
do not have access to the house through the back because
the ground slopes upward at a pretty steep angle, behind my back yard
fence, up to the row of townhouses behind me along with all the trees
that have grown back there....
In
the past, 2 people actually fell on that slope and broke their legs so
no one uses it as an point of entry or egress to their houses....
To the right of the front door when you walk in.....
Is a marble topped plant sand that I bought at an estate sale.....
I decided not to use the bowl for this peach vintage bowl and pitcher set because I have no idea where I put it but I am sure it will turn up eventually.....
While vacationing at the Jersey shore many years ago, we went to a Craft Fair in Cape May, NJ and I bought several of these light switch covers that have pictures on them.....
Of course, they all have Victorian scenes....
A bunny and a ceramic egg.....
A candle was placed in the apothecary jar on the shelf below.....
I changed all the drapes, curtains and linens over from Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer in the Living Room.....
This is what the front door looked like in the Fall/Winter....
And now with the Spring/Summer peach lace curtains.....
My mother changed all the drapes and curtains in her home every Fall and Spring....
I only do that in the Living Room and the Den.....
I bought this pediment at a yard sale for $3 and stripped off the white paint that was on it and then stained it.....
A peach ceramic sigh that says "Welcome" hangs on it....
I hung this Bunny that I embellished from the valance.....
This is a metal door that I did a faux stain treatment on many years ago....
It is painted black on the other side.....
To the left when you walk in the front door....
I have my umbrellas handy.....
I decorated the Grandmother's hutch, that I refinished and added mirrors to right here in this spot, and the shelves on each side of it in a religious Easter theme again this year.....
I
changed over the candles in the angel votive cups ( there are angels imprinted in the glass votive cups) on the brass sconces from the red ones
that I had for Christmas and Valentine's to the aqua Spring/Summer ones ....
I had bought the crosses on these shelves at Dollar Tree last year.....
"Bless This Home"
I added peach florals, a gold egg and berries and an Easter lamb....
A vintage smoking stand holds my keys....
I placed an arrangement of peach and ivory flowers, along with a lighted branch, in the brass can that I have had for 40 years....
Last year, I bought a few things that had more of religious theme for Easter.....
I have taken pictures with both the lights and candles on and off.....
I ordered a set of 4 religious table top signs for Easter from Amazon last year.....
The top of the hutch....
Last year, I bought a set of these lights from Amazon and ran them along the top of the Hutch....

Joe bought the egg topiaries on clearance one year in Big Lot's for 90% off and I added a set of fairy lights to them......
I placed the "He Is" sign on the left side....
In the middle.......
I bough the ceramic cross at a church flea market a few years back......
The Happy Easter sign was also bought on clearance.....
I placed the "Risen" sign on the right side....
"He is Risen"
I display my white Angel collection in this hutch....
They came in sets of 2, purchased at Sam's Club, over 25 years ago...

The top shelf....

I placed some white lilies on top of the clock that holds Joe's ashes
along with the cross that was gifted to me at his Funeral Service by our
priest........
I also changed out the gold chenille runner on top of the hutch for a lace one with fringes....
Which I bought on Ebay many years ago....
On the right side of the hutch....
Another Dollar Tree cross on this shelf....
