I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Joe would want me to continue doing what I love to do so with that being said.....

I am going to start posting again on a regular schedule.....

I will be posting on MONDAYS and THURSDAYS....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today's post is all about Family!!!

In my last post, I shared how I decorated the for Joe's Homecoming.....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

I want to Thank to the hosts of Family Week for featuring my Blog Post, 5 WEEKS, from last month's You're the Star Blog Hop!!

Thank you so much, Michelle, Chris, Lisa and Fionna!!

Please stop by and link up to this charming party....

We celebrated Mother's Day on Tuesday, the 14th.....

We made it through the first Holiday without Joe....

Sadly, from past experience, I know the first year is the hardest....

Jim and Danielle are now back to work, working opposite shifts and they have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off together so we will be celebrating most Holidays on those days anymore...

 Mimi and Lily.....

We ordered Take Home from Olive Garden......

My dear friend Anne Marie and her husband Tony gifted us a gift card to Olive Garden so all of us could enjoy a dinner together!!!

Thank you so much, Anne Marie and Tony.....

Danielle and Lily....

Jim

Since it was Danielle's first Mother's Day, I got a cake and put a Number One candle on it....

 We enjoyed the cake....

Uncle Joey and Gigi....

Mimi and Gigi.....

The Twins are now holding their heads up and looking around and trying to sit up.....

Joey

Of course, our grand pups also joined in the celebration!!!

 Joey and Faye....

Faye spent a lot of time on the ottoman which was unusual because she usually does not leave Jim and Danielle's side....

I can not help but wonder if she was missing Joe because he always sat on the chair by the ottoman but I was sitting there this time....

She was also very kissy too and wanted her belly rubbed.....

Jim with Gigi and Danielle with Lily....

Jim with Gigi and Azunmi....

Danielle and Lily....

The Twins were tired out from all the celebrating.....

It was a wonderful Day spent with family!!

Joey gifted me an Amazon Gift Card for Mother's Day.....

I am still deciding on what I will get with it....

And Jim and Danielle gifted me this cute garden sign...

This personalized ornament with Azumi, Faye, Liliana and Gianna's names printed on the hands......

And this beautiful book......

These are just some of the wonderful pictures in this heartfelt picture book....

And the last picture on the last page is this one....

 Made me tear up....

And just like this book, a chapter in my life has been closed and finished.....

The back cover of the book.....

But Life does go on......

On Friday the 17th, I attended my great niece Cortney's graduation from King's College ....

She received her BSN in Nursing....

Bishop Joseph Bambera, who is actually Joe's boss as he works for the Diocese of Scranton as an IT Specialist....

Most of the local College graduations and some High School graduations are held at our Arena....

Cortney received her Associate Degree in Nursing last year and has been working in an ICU in a local Hospital....

I know her Dad, my Dad and her Uncle Joe, along with so many members of her family, are looking down from Heaven and are so very proud of her!!

My niece Renae and Cortney....

My great niece Caitlin, Renae, Cort and my great niece Carly....

Cort and her sisters.....

Carly and Cort.....

Cort and Cait, who just completed her first year in the same Nursing program.....

Cait, Renae, my sister Barb, Cort, me and Carly, who just turned 15!!.......

No...my sister and I did not plan to wear almost the same outfits!!!

Same group with John, Cort's boyfriend....

John and Cort....

A strong, tough, independent group of women who have survived the loss of parents, grand parents, a father, son, nephew, grand child and great nephew and husbands....

And we are still standing.....together.....

It was a great day spent with family!!!

I also want to share my great niece Carly's Freshman Semi Formal.....

Carly and her boyfriend Jason....

What a beautiful young woman she is becoming!!

Renae and Carly....

And the last thing I wanted to share was my grand pups Faye and Azumi's Spa Day.....

Jim and Danielle use a Mobile Grooming Service....

 Parked right outside their house!!

And will you look at these 2 beauties!!!

Jim said it looks like they retired and moved to Florida and are going to the beach!!!!

LOL!!

I want to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day weekend!!!

I will be shopping for a new TV for my Living Room, as my soon to be 13 years old one died....

Within 10 minutes, Joey had the one from the Den disconnected and hooked up to everything in the Living Room....

We were expecting it to die for the last 6 months....

We will be celebrating Memorial Day next Tuesday as Joey also took that day off.....

In my next post on MONDAY, I will be sharing how I decorated the front porch for the Summer and later for Memorial Day...

Along with the annuals that I planted in my pots in the front of our house......

So I hope you will stop by to visit again on MONDAY!!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  3. What a sweet Mother's Day celebration. Your granddaughters are so adorable and those pups - the cutest. What a lovely book they gifted you!! Congratulations to your great niece! I love that you and your sister coordinated, too. You are a strong group of women! I'm so glad you have each other. The "ladies" in their hats at the spa is just the greatest.

  8. The Twins are beyond Adorable, how do you tell them apart tho', they really look so much alike that I'm sure when they're Older they'll play tricks on people about that? *Smiles* I had Friends who were Identical Twins and even their own Parents would sometimes mix them up. Those Photo Books are great, I had some made and they make excellent Gifts too. Congrats on the Graduation, such a Proud Moment. A Beautiful extended Family you have, Family is Everything.

  9. Happy Memorial Day, Debbie! So many beautiful family celebrations! Your Mother's Day gathering was very touching and there's nothing better than time spent with loved ones! The "Mimi" book is precious... what a thoughtful keepsake! Congrats to your great niece, too! Our youngest graduated two years ago with her BSN. She worked at the Children's Hospital until last fall when she got a new position as a pre/post op nurse. Wishing your great niece much success! Take care and enjoy all the cuddles you can from those sweet twin grandbabies! 💕 Laura
