I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Late Summer Victorian and Aqua Decorations in the Living Room, 2023

Today I am sharing how I decorated my Living Room for the Summer months in the style I love, Victorian, using shades of aqua and peach.....

These are the areas not decorated in a Coastal/Nautical theme....

In my last post, I shared the rest of my Coastal/Nautical decorations in my Living Room.....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

I want to Thank to all the Hosts of the You're the Star Blog Hop for choosing my post, Colorful Summer Patio, Part 2, as one of their features from last month's link party!!

Thanks so much to all the Hosts of this monthly party!!!

Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

We have a Robin's nest in one of the Dwarf Alberta Spruce Trees that I planted in large Patio pots on the Patio out back.....

You can see the beaks and eyes of 2 baby Robins.....

The Parent Robins are always keeping watch.....

And then this morning, one of the babies flew the coop!!!

Pooping all over my chair!!!

LOL!

He stayed there stuck on the chair for about a good 45 minutes, chirping to his parents " Help Me!"

They were close by , on the trellis and arbor, chirping back "You can do it!! Fly Little One!"

And he finally did!!!

His sibling is still in the nest so the Parent Robins still have one more to go before they become Empty Nesters....

Then I can finally get out there to clean up the patio...

I have only been going out to water as I did not want to disturb the little family.....

Isn't it funny how all Parents, no matter what species, encourage their children to FLY?????

The time frame after Easter til Labor Day is the only time that the majority of the Living Room is devoid of any Seasonal Decorations.....

That means that this is when my everyday "normal" Decor is out in the Living Room....

We will start at the Hutch which is immediately to the left when you walk in the front door, which we use as our only entrance.....

On shelves on each side of the Hutch, which was Joe's Grandmother's....

The figurines on the shelves are Home Interiors and the sconces and fans are vintage brass...

 On top of the Hutch......

I added a few aqua flowers to different areas around the Living Room.....

Butterflies...

 The other side.....

Angels and aqua vintage glass ware, along with Iris Herringbone depression glass, are displayed in the Hutch......

Last year, as part of my Series "What's in Your Hutch/Curio?", I showcased this Hutch throughout a year's time....

Please click HERE if you want to see in more detail what is inside of it and how I changed it throughout the year....

On the other side of the Hutch....

Aqua candles and a flower..

I already shared this area by the stairs in my previous post....

Including my LED lighted Branch Tree, decorated with Butterflies, Dragon Flies and Birds....

Down the hallway to the Kitchen....

A friend painted that picture and gifted it to me....

On the mirror between the coat closet and Powder Room door...

A wreath I made several years back....

Sort of looks a bit tropical, don't you think?

And hanging below it is a reproduction vintage Pepsi Cola tray.....

Back into the Living Room, by the Dining Room, is my Nostalgic styled Stereo System....

On top....

The vintage hobnail milk glass Hurricane lamp was one of 2 from my late neighbor Elly's house....

I bought 2 of those shades with the flowers on them at Salvation Army!!

The pictures are of what I call Instant Relatives....

Meaning pictures I bought at Flea Markets....

Joe found the stand at a local antique Co Op.....

The stereo system , which has a Turntable, CD player, Radio and even a Cassette player in it, fits perfectly on top......

Over in the other corner by the Dining Room, is a large round table.....

You may remember I shared these hand made scarves that were made by my Maternal Grandmother....

She tatted the edges on them after cutting them out to fit my mother's vintage Waterfall Bedroom Furniture, which is now my bedroom furniture.......

I placed one of the smaller ones .....

Here on this table.....

Again,

 Instant Relative pictures....

The clock with the Carousel Horses was the Retirement Gift that my MIL received when she took early Retirement from the local former RCA Factory.......

She gave me the clock, knowing that I would keep it because she said "I know my daughters will only sell it"...

I added aqua flowers to the shelves on each side to the faux window along with 2 peach Victorian Tassel dolls....

Victorian Lady Figurines, from Home Interiors, are in the small curio's on the wall that I bought a very long time ago at a yard sale for a Buck a piece!!!

The other side....

The cherub shelves were bought a few years ago at Gabes....

The pictures in the frames hanging above the curios on each side are of actual Family members!!!

The vintage 3 tiered table to the side of the Tree....

The lamp was gifted to me by Joe.....

He bought it over 20 years ago at J.C. Penney's.....

Another Home Interiors Victorian Lady figurine.....

The Frame and Mannequin were made by Popular Creations...

 More Instant Relatives, of course.....

I embellished several vintage gloves....

I also shared the TV Entertainment Center decorated in what I called "A Pirate's Cove" theme this year...

I even decorated another Tree this year in this theme!!

And I also decorated this area on the floor....

I had a lot of Fun thinking about and designing this display here....

And next to the TV Entertainment Center is a smaller round table.....

Again, Joe bought the lamp from J.C. Penney's a long time ago and gifted it to me.....

You can see that I used the other vintage doily made by my Grandmother here....

This is a Thomas Kinkade Victorian Lady under glass...

A vintage styled phone I bought at a Flea Market....

 And another Home Interiors figurine.....

And that completes my Tour of the Living Room decorated for Late Summer.....

It will stay this way until right after Labor Day when it will under go a major transformation when I change the drapes, curtains, linens and pillows and throws and decorate it for Fall.....

This is what it looked like last year for Fall.....

Amazing what changing the color scheme with accessories will do , right?????

I am a Fall person and it has always been my favorite Season of the year ever since I was a kid so I can not wait....

July has been brutal for me as it was very hot and humid.....

With my auto immune issues that cause Heat and Sun sensitivity, I do not do well in the Summer....

This week, we have fortunately had some nice cooler temps and the swelling in my ankles, hands and eye lids have finally disappeared...

I am hoping that the heat and humidity does not return in August and even September but only Mother Nature will decide that....

I hope you will stop by to visit again on FRIDAY when I take you into the Dining room to share a new display on the Buffet!

I set up a Homage to The Atlantic City Boardwalk and the infamous Steel Pier....

Don't worry...

I will explain why I did this on FRIDAY!!!

So I hope you will be back then!!!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  4. So pretty! I love the robin nest! We have a lot of Robin's around our house. Unfortunately, one of them figured out how to get into our dryer vent and made a nest in there too!! Thank you for visiting Tell It To Me Tuesday!

  5. We had two robin's nest around our house this year--one by the back door, and one by the front. So there were baby robins everywhere! Thanks for sharing them and your lovely home :)
