Winter Wonderland Tree in the Den, 2016

This year, I decided to decorate the Den for Winter and create a Winter Tree using the 4 1/2 foot Tree that I had in the Den for Christmas.

This is what it looked like decorated at Christmas.......

And now for Winter.......

I combined decorations that I used for decorating Winter Trees in the Den and in the Living Room from previous years.........

And I picked up a few new things this year after Christmas and created my Winter Wonderland Tree in the Den!!

I am very pleased with how it turned out......

I started with an Owl Topper, bought in Sears on Clearance this year........

Isn't he sweet?

I tucked some white branches into the Tree. These were bought a few years ago on Clearance in Michaels......

This "star" ornament is one of several that I bought in Big Lot's this year on Clearance....

I think it looks more like a snowflake, don't you?

Then I added some crystal garland that looks like it has icicles hanging from it.....

Made a bow and streamers for the top out of white deco mesh ribbon......

And added some silver and gold ornaments.......

And here is my Winter Tree......

I also added some gold tipped greenery branches to the top.......

And some pheasant feathers......

The bow almost looks like a nest......

I also wrapped the Tree with white snow flake wired garland......

At the top of the Tree is a Snowflake, a nest and a white bird.......

I bought little white cotton snow ball ornaments at a flea market.......

The snow flake ornaments are from Dollar Tree.....

The nests with gold eggs in them were bought in Sears last year on Clearance......

Along with these pretty ornaments with pine cones painted on them......

A few Snow Men.............

Can't remember where I bought the beige birds........

Some gold glittered pine cones.......

Some Winter Putz House ornaments.......

Silver pine cone ornaments with white tips......

And bird houses.........

Lots of clear acrylic Icicles......

And there you have it!!!!!

Underneath the Tree, I simply cut a piece of blanket snow to fit around the Tree......

Laid down a few snow flakes.......

I did not pack away my Thomas Kinkade houses after Christmas.......

And this Tree gives off a wonderful glow when lit in the Evening.......

In my next post, I will be sharing the rest of the Winter decorations in the Den........

And I am almost done with my Valentine decorating in the Living Room......

An update on Google Friend Connect

In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.
