First , I want to Thank Sandi, over at Rose Chintz Cottage, for featuring my post, Welcoming Winter, the Outside, from last week's No Place Like Home Party!!
Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!
This is the area in the Kitchen that I have decorated for Winter........
In my last post, I shared the desk area of the Hutch...........
If you missed A Winter Tea with Red Cardinals, please click HERE
I love the decorate this area for the different Holidays and Seasons.......
First, I started with a Tree........
This was the tree that was in the Living Room at Christmas, decorated with Vintage ornaments......
I stripped it down.......
I had a wired garland that looks like ice crystals wrapped around the tree.........
And I had used frosted white ball warm white LED lights on this Tree, which sort of reminds me of little snow balls........
All of the lights and the crystal garland were on this Tree when it was decorated for Christmas too!!
Last year, I bought Red Cardinal Ribbon at Wegman's on Clearance........
And I already had this sheer Cardinal ribbon........
I combined the 2 and made a bow for the top of the Tree.......
And added some berry greenery from Dollar Tree as a topper........
I then stuffed some pieces of Buffalo Snow into the Tree to look like snow.......
And used Bird and Bird House ornaments to decorate it!!
This is the whole area decorated........
Let's get back to the Tree.......
Next to the Tree , on a stand, is a lovely Tea Pot that I bought at a Church Flea Market......
The handle and the lid.........
Aren't the Birds pretty??????
The Tree is placed in a Basket.......
The basket, which was another Flea Market find, has a red cardinal and bird house painted on it.......
One set of children's Ice Skates sit next to the Tree.......
Let's take a closer look at the Tree.......
Bird ornaments.......
The Bird ornaments with the feather tails were bought in Sears last year on Clearance......
The brown feathered Bird ornaments came from Dollar Tree......
The Bird Houses with the hearts were bought at A.C. Moore several years ago........
So this is one of my Winter Trees..........
Yes, I have another Winter Tree in the Den.........
I have also decorated under the desk........
A Snow Man sits inside another set of children's Ice Skates.......
A candle in a copper Lantern and a Snow Man Tea Pot.......
I took a picture from a calendar and placed it in a white frame.......
A red cardinal in a nest is in front of the picture.......
A votive cup with a painted red cardinal on it that I bought at a Craft Fair......
And a cute Snow Man......
A pretty Bird place mat.......
And over to the side.......
A chalkboard tray........
It definitely warm up the cold Winter nights, don't you think??????
I am happy to say that I have finally packed away all of the Christmas decorations downstairs. I have organized and labeled everything using some new smaller tubs which make everything easier to handle and not as heavy.......
In my next post, I will share my 2nd Winter tree which is in the Den ..........
And how I used what I bought after Christmas this year........
So I hope you will come by and visit again!!
And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
One other thing I want to share.......
TO THOSE THAT USE GOOGLE FRIEND CONNECT:
If you are a blogger who has noticed that your number of Followers is decreasing, this is why:
An update on Google Friend Connect
December 21, 2015
In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.
As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.
We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.
We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.
Posted by Michael Goddard, Software EngineerTo those who have previously followed both my blogs, please create a Google Account so you can continue to follow my blogs and the other blogs that you love!!
