2 Easter Tablescapes and Easter Wrap Up, 2023

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I am now posting TWICE  a week !!!

I will be posting on MONDAY and FRIDAY!

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today I will be sharing what our Easter weekend was like!!!

HAPPY EASTER to those that celebrate it!!!

Happy Passover to those celebrating this Holiday!!!!

And Have a Blessed Ramadan to my Muslim neighbors and friends...

In my last post, I shared a few more Easter Crafts.....

And a whole lot of garden projects ...

And also a Sunset...

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

Last week, in preparation for Easter, I decided to "play"....

I set up an Easter tablescape for fun!!!

This is the type of tablescape I would do if I was having friends over for an Easter Luncheon....

In the center....

An Easter Basket my Mother gifted me a very long time ago filled with faux eggs and an Easter Bunny...

Easter Carolers from The Christmas Tree Shop, lighted glass eggs from big Lot's and a few more eggs flank each side of the basket....

I used a pastel plaid tablescloth and the dinner plates were gifted to me by my friend Anne Marie....

The flatware is from Dollar Tree!!

The egg shaped bunny dessert plates came from Tuesday Mornings....

The crystal glassware were a gift from my next door neighbor Mehrukh...

 I had fun doing this!!

On Good Friday, I made 2 batches of chocolate chip cookies....

I gifted some to my neighbor's Ed and Mehrukh and her family....

I tried out a recipe I saw posted by a fellow Blogger.....

 Deviled Egg Pasta Salad!!!!

HERE is a link to the recipe....

I made the deviled egg part like I make my deviled eggs and added a bit of vinegar and worcestershire sauce along with more may to make it creamier....

I also sent some over to Ed and Mehrukh, who liked it so much that she wanted the recipe so she could make it for the weekend as her family was going to be visiting to celebrate breaking the fast for Ramadon....

It did turn out really tasty....

On Saturday, I did up most of my meats....

My neighbor Ed had gifted us a ring of Komensky's fresh kielbasi....

This is the kind that my Dad used to make and tasting this brought back so many wonderful memories of helping him by putting the casings on the nozzle of the now vintage meat grinder and tying them off...

I also got to turn the handle of the meat grinder and my Dad guided the meat out into the casing with his hands careful not to fill it too full so the casing would not puncture....

Komensky's located in Duryea, Pa. and have won several First Prize Awards for their Kielbasi in local contests...

This was the first time we ever had it and it was very good...

I also made 2 rings of Smoked Kielbasi from a local little grocery store,Malacari's....

I can no longer eat kielbasi but both my son love it....

Joey called it "spicy Polish meats"!!

And on Saturday, I also made my Dad's Sausage Filling!!!!

I sent some over to my neighbor Ed who enjoyed it for lunch......

I can not send anything with meat in it to my neighbor Mehrukh as they only eat Halal meat which is butchered in a certain way according to their religion....

And I did up my 3 pound boneless ham....

I cut up some for Easter Dinner and put some away to make Baked Ham and Cheese sliders this week...

On Easter Sunday, I am quite happy to say that we went to Mass at our Church for the first time in qute a few years....

When i was working, my work schedule of having to work the weekend of Easter and cook dinner made it nearly impossible to attend...

Then I had my knee surgery and then the Pandemic hit causing me to watch masses online and not attend because of my auto immune disease....

So it was really nice to be able to attend in person again....

All my clothes are too big on me except for a bunch of Summer tops and capri's so I know this outfit is too big  but I am waiting until I reach my target goal to buy new clothes....

Truth be told, I had the waist band of these pants rolled over once!!!

I had to stop wearing my wedding ring, engagement ring and anniversary ring as i almost flung them across the room the other day they were so big.....

I will get them resized and maybe wear ring guards once I get to my target weight....

So far, down 47 pounds since last June 1st....

And I feel fantastic!!!

Our church, Saint Maria Goretti, looked beautiful....

It was built only 51 years ago so it is one of the few newer churches in our area....

The flowers were white, yellow and purple....

This is the Tree of Life in our church......

Both my parents and Joe's  mother have leaves on the Tree of Life and are prayed for at every single Mass said in our church....

When we got home from Mass, I threw the turkey in the oven.....

And set the table for Easter dinner for our family of 5!

Just a simple tablescape because as Joey says, " you have to have room for all the food!"

LOL!!

I used my plain white dinner plates with a gold edge because they hold the most food!!

I stopped doing Easter baskets for the boys when they became teenagers at their request because they wanted money instead!

Now they get lottery tickets!!!

Joe found these cute Doggie ones!!!

I was so proud of myself in not having one single piece of Easter candy in the house until......

Joe went to Price Chopper on Sunday morning and bought eggs and bunnies since they had their Easter candy at 50% off on Clearance!!!!!

And he further added insult to injury and bought a cake which was on sale!!!!

He tried to sabatoge my healthier journey when ever he can....

I only ate a small piece of cake....

Now the hit of our Easter Sunday celebration was our sweet Grand Pups , of course!!!!

IN THEIR EASTER DRESSES!!!!!!!

LOL!!

 So darn cute!!!!!

No, it is only Azumi sitting on our DIL Danielle's lap!!!

Not Faye......It is her shirt!!!!

Jimmy gifted her this shirt for her birthday last month!!

And on the back!!

Azumi was falling asleep after dinner on her mama's lap....

Look at her in that dress!!

Azumi with Uncle Joey.....

And with Daddy....

And little Miss Faye in her Easter dress!!

She was quite kissy!!

And that was our Easter weekend!!

We are Blessed to be able to spend the Holidays with our family!!

I hope that you did too!!!

I will be keeping up my Easter decorations until the end of this month....

I will now be returning to just posting twice a week on MONDAYS and FRIDAYS!!!

  3. You look amazing! I am so proud for your efforts. You have worked so hard and it really shows!!!
I have been attending Facebook Live church since Covid. One of my grandsons signed up for Stations of the Cross and the Good Friday service as a server and mom had to work. That meant I was kneeling and sitting in a pew for 3 hours. I could not walk back from communion without pain from sciatica in both legs. My back was in spasms. Even today (Monday), I am still not comfortable and groaning. I think I am meant for Facebook church in the future. At least until I forget how I feel, LOL.
Those dresses are just too much! Adorable, just adorable!!!! Happy Easter!

  4. Hi Debbie,
About 10 - 12 years ago I was a blogger, Kathyscreations, and followed you back then. Today I found my blog again and saw you still have yours going. I’ve often wondered each Christmas if you still decorated all your trees and rooms and I see you do. Love your Easter post and the table set up you did for your sons & dil. You are looking very healthy, keep up the great work to reach your goal.

  6. Hi Debbie What a wonderful Happy family Easter, loved seeing your table and the cute Easter bunny dogs! Congratulations on all your efforts towards feeling fantastic. I can't resist an post Easter bargain sale and cake myself, you were very impressive in your moderation. Our Easter in Thailand was low key, luckily for me the Thai's are not much into chocolates! Have a lovely week.

  7. The pups look so cute in their Easter garb. You are doing great at staying the path on your weight loss journey! I wish we still had a Tuesday Morning in our area, it closed a few years ago. It was difficult walking out with nothing in your hands. I am loving your pastel tablecloth with the bunny plates. So cute!
