Today, I am going to be sharing some Patriotic updates including a quick makeover of my Patriotic Tree, a new wreath that I made, my July 4th Front Porch ....
But first, I want to Thank Barb, over at French Ethereal, for choosing my post, A Little Bit of Yellow in the Gardens, June Update, as one of her features from last week's Share Your Style Linky Party!!!
Thanks so much, Barb!!!!
And I also want to Thank Linda, over at Crafts a La Mode, not only for featuring my post, Patriotic Doll House and Sweet Treats, from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Linky Party but also for what she did to the picture of Nelson Crest...
Thanks again, Linda!!
Please stop by and link up to these charming parties!!!!
Before I start my Patriotic Home Tour for this year, I want to share a few new things that I added to my Patriotic decor since I did the original posts......
I had a senior moment and actually forgot that I had ordered these Military Flags honoring the various branches of the Armed Services after seeing them on a Tree that a friend made for a Veteran......
So I used a seam ripper and removed the white sleeve for the "pole" and hand sewed it to the other side as you can see in the picture above....
There is a Flag for each branch of the Military......
United States Army and United States Coast Guard.....
2 for the United States Air Force......
United States Navy and United States Marines
I added them to my Patriotic Tree in the Living Room.......
I tucked in 4 of these flags on each side of the Tree......
This is what I had in mind when I ordered these but forgot all about....
Also, I placed the Patriotic Bird House in the middle of a red, white and blue tinsel wreath , again from Dollar Tree.....
The Patriotic Sweet Treats that my friend Angela made and gifted to me.....
Are now on display here.....
I moved some flags that were on the Tree before the Military flags into this vase.....
I have been quite enamored with the Flag wreaths that I have been seeing every where on blogs and on Pinterest.....
So I also decided to try my hand at making one of my own......
It is held in place by a rubberband!!!
I tucked a small flag into the rubber band and made a bow out of red deco mesh ribbon, also in my stash.....
I like how it looks on an oval wreath and I tied it to the left instead of to the right like all the others that I have seen......
I wanted to be different.......
It is hanging on the door of the Powder Room.....
Next up is my July 4th Front Porch.......
I also added a few things that are new......
The flower bed under the Living Room window......
I am very pleased with how the coleus are growing as I think they doubled in size over night.....
Looking out from the front porch at the flower bed on top of our slope....
My faux mail box......
I remembered I forgot to change the flag......
Up next is my annual Patriotic Home tour where a share a few snippets of my posts for this year on my decorations with links to all those posts.....

These amazing Sweet Treats.......
That my FB friend, Angela, created for me inspired me to do this Patriotic Tablescape, celebrating the 4th of July!!!!
And since Joe bought 2 Patriotic tablecloths, I also created another one for July 4th!!!

And that concludes my Patriotic Home Tour and the update on my Patriotic decorations of the Summer.....
The Living Room will stay decorated like this for about another week and then I will change it over to my late Summer "Under the Sea" theme.....
The Den will stay the same until I decorate it for Christmas in November.....
I hope you had a wonderful July 4th Holiday and got to spend it with those that you love!!
We sure did!!
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

Happy July 4th, Debbie. I hope you have the most wonderful day and look forward to hearing what your day allowed. Your home is beautiful and festive. You are such an inspiration. I just love your front porch. Big hugs.
ReplyDeleteI love everything. I was making a list of favorites (I know the flag with song lyrics was one); everything is so wonderful and patriotic - oh, the flag on the oval wreath, gorgeous! But my eyes stopped on that red and blue transferware, LOL. Gosh those dishes make my heart go pitter pat. Please don't tell my family, but I think I am going to start stalking the flea markets and Goodwill. I am so in love with them!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is so pretty I like the new flags.
ReplyDeleteAnd the new wreath is pretty. I noticed the Mantle again. I am glad I sent the little bunting to you so you could enjoy. Thanks for sharing your lovely home. Have a great week.
I am thrilled that you had a wonderful celebration. Your patriotic decor is a feast for the eyes, it all looks amazing. Love the wrath you made, so simple but effective, its beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like your flag wreath more than any I have seen. I already have a red/white/blue bandanna one I made, but may have to do another one.
ReplyDeletePenneybuc,
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by and for your kind comment about my flag wreath!! A friend of mine said that she was thinking of using different Holiday fabric to make wreaths for the Holidays based on the flag wreath I made...Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
