I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

All the "Pretties" in my Craft Room

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Today, I will be sharing all the "Pretties" in my Craft Room....

But first, I want to share some wonderful news!!!

Our son, Joey lost his job last November as part of a company Take Over but received an extremely generous Severance package which granted him his full pay for 6 months along with health care....

His job search has been quite arduous and extended well past our area of NEPA......

In my opinion, he has had to do some of the craziest things when applying for jobs like answering SAT questions, taking personality and diversity tests, submitting assays, making a video of himself explaining why he felt he was qualified for the job and numerous Zoom interviews with anywhere from 1 to 6 people!!!

I thank God that I am retired and will never have to look for a job because I can not imagine being put through all of that....

I am quite proud to announce that as of today, Joey was hired by the Diocese of Scranton as part of a 2 person Information Technology team !!!

He will start working on May 3rd as an IT specialist, providing support for the Diocese itself, the Catholic Youth Center, the Diocesan Soup Kitchens and 4 Cemeteries and other entities....

I am a firm believer in things happening for a reason.....

He will be getting paid a higher salary than his previous job with an amazing benefit package including 17 PAID Holidays!!!!

I never knew you could get paid for that many Holidays....

His benefits will start the day of hire and since he has 2 more checks left from his severance package, he will never go without a pay nor did he have to sign up for unemployment benefits...

His commute will only be 20-25 minutes rather than 40 minutes and he will also have the capabilities to work from home remotely.....

We are extremely proud and grateful that our son was given this opportunity....

Joey is thrilled, as you can imagine, and also loves the idea to be working for a Non-Profit Organization who helps people rather than a huge corporate Money Machine who only care about their bottom line....

God does work in mysterious ways.....

We laughed because he now has to go and buy some different casual dress clothes as he is not able to wear a tee shirt and jeans like he did at his previous job....

He said he will gladly do that though!!!

Over the last 2 weeks, I have been sharing my newly cleaned and reorganized Craft Room....

In a previous post, I shared some projects I did in the Craft Room......

Click HERE if you missed that post.......

I also shared my vintage sewing display set up on top of Joe's Grandmother's antique Singer Sewing Machine....

I also shared my Summer Fun Tree in the Craft Room.....

In my last post, I shared how I organized my craft supplies....

I like to have pretty things around me especially here in my craft room to inspire me.....

Today, I will be sharing how I decorated the Craft Room.....

The color theme for this room is a sage green, pink and white and I have tried to stick with that theme , even in the color of the storage containers that I have used.....

Let's start when you walk into the room.....

To the left is the closet where I keep my "dress" clothes and some craft supplies.....

Above the closet hangs a refurbished tin ceiling tile that I bought on EBay.....

This hangs on the closet door......

My favorite quote is written on this chalkboard that I embellished a bit.....

It reminds me that now that I am retired, I can now finally be whoever I choose and do what I want.....

Hanging on the wall above this shelf unit.....

A Guardian Angel wind chime hangs from the ceiling.....

I framed a picture from a Thomas Kinkade calendar

A plaque that I embellished

On this shelf unit is one of the displays that I set up in tribute to the women in our family......

This pays tribute to my family.....

In the large frame, is my parent's wedding picture that graced the cedar wardrobe ( that is now in my bedroom) in my parent's room for all the years that they were married.....

The Bride and Groom ceramic was gifted to me on my Wedding Day by my Mother....

I could not find a wedding picture of my maternal grandparents so I framed this one.....

I definitely take after my Grandmother in body build and not my Mother!!

The glass plaque was gifted to me by my sons one Mother's Day.....

My Paternal Grandparents wedding picture....

I bought my Mother this mug.....

The lamp was my Mother's and I embellished the shade.....

My Craft table.....

I strung a swag lamp bought at my neighbor's estate sale a few years back, through an old chandy that I removed the wiring from and decorated it.....

I cut out flowers from the wall paper border and painted a ceiling medallion that was one of several that I bought at Volunteer's of America's Thrift Shop several years ago....

In this corner.....

An old Home Interiors picture of what I consider my Dream House.....

Another Home Interiors item.....

A few pink hearts off to the side.....

The shelf along the ceiling once housed my son Joey's DVD collection.....

I left it up to display some of my "Pretties"...

I "dabbled" a bit with this vintage wash board.....

Above Joe's Grandmother's vintage sewing machine.....

Another Home Interiors picture along with the sconces and fans.....

A Fairy, a teacup pin cushion I made and a vase.....

Over in the corner......

A magnet board I embellished.....

And another one I made to display magnets from all the places we traveled to.....

This is where our son's bed used to be and I hung shelves above it to create more room for his things like electronics, books, etc.....

Of course, I left the shelves up to display even more "Pretties"!!!

The top shelf......

A bird cage and one of the candle lights that I used to sell........I embellished the shade after covering it with fabric.....

That is a picture of my maternal Grandmother as a young girl in the picture frame.....

A pink Angel bought at a yard sale....

A wax Teddy on the box and one sitting below on the shelf.....

This angel was gifted to me by a friend......

The bottom shelf.....

She was also gifted to me by a friend......

Some of my collection of doll head ornaments bought at Michael's......

Some of my collection of Thomas Kinkade Pink Ladies and a 3 light candolier that I embellished and used to sell......

A tree topper gifted to me by a friend......

Below the shelves on the wall is a shelf unit.....

Here is where I set up the display honoring the women in Joe's family.....

A vintage corner shelf that I painted pink....

The lamp was my Mother's and I embellished the shade......

Joe's parent's Wedding picture......

A tea set I bought at a church flea market......

Joe's Maternal Grandparent's Wedding picture.....

More Thomas Kinkade Pink Ladies.....

The mirrored window was bought at a flea market.....

Joe's Paternal Grandparent's Wedding picture.....

My sewing table which is a kidney shaped vanity table that was made by my Father for my Mother......

I made the sewing machine cover and reupholstered the seat on the chair from fabric that was a curtain panel bought at a Thrift Store....

The ruffle on the chair was made from a bed dust ruffle bought for $1.00 at a thrift shop.....

Another tea cup pin cushion that I used to make and sell.....

One of the wastebaskets that I used to sell filled with card board for projects......

I bought this in Belevidere, NJ during their Victorian Days.....

A yard sale find......

An old Home Interiors mirror........

I embellished the floral swag with white tulle and beads.....

You can see the reflection of the chandy above my craft table......

This wood table was already painted this way and only cost me $3!!

On top of it......

A tissue box cover that I used to make and sell.......

Another one of my Mother's lamps......

I embellished the shade....

And I have this sign hanging above the door!!!

And that completes this series of posts on my Craft Room!!!

I hope you enjoyed following along with my progress on cleaning and reorganizing this room!!

I will be sharing one more thing that I will be adding to my Craft Room!!

My FB friend Angela, who I gifted 3 boxes of craft supplies to, wanted to show her appreciation for those supplies....

Angela is a gifted artist and miniaturist...

She will be mailing it out this week...........

This spectacularly beautiful creation of hers that she made for me....

A miniature Room Box of my Craft Room!!!!

I will be doing a post on this as soon as it arrives!!!!
