Word of the Month for April, HOPE!!!!!!

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Today, I will be sharing what my Word for the Month of April is......

As you might have guessed by the first picture in this post, my Word of this Month is HOPE!!!!!
What exactly is Hope?????

Here are a few definitions.......

1.
a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.

2.
a feeling of trust.

3. to cherish a desire with anticipation

4. to want something to happen or be true

Needless to say, I believe that we all need to have HOPE in these trying and unprecedented times that we are living through right now.....

POSITIVITY is what I chose as my Theme for this Year......

Little did I know how important it would be to remain POSITIVE this Year!!!!

I am choosing to maintain this theme by only posting positive things here on my Blog and also on my face book page.....
There are so many Negative, "Doom and Gloom", finger pointing at Politicians and people of a certain geographic location and Ethnicty, and personal ranting and raving posts out there on face book that it is hard for anyone to try to maintain a positive attitude......

BUT, I have had enough......

I am CHOOSING to scroll through and not read any of these posts.....

As I mentioned in a previous post, I am NOT watching any National News.....

I am only watching local News......

I recently read an article on maintaining Mental Health and one of the major points it made was to only focus on what involves you personally and the area where you live...

It suggests only watching local News....

We, along with our son Joey who is currently living here with us, have done this and it has helped tremendously!!

I am going to be sharing some pictures of the sky, clouds and the first Sunset of the Season that I was able to capture as now that it is April, the Sun is finally making it's way around to the front of our house!!!

Here are some quotes that I HOPE will help you to have HOPE!!!!

"Tomorrow hopes we have learned something from yesterday.”

“Never deprive someone of hope; it might be all they have.”

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. ... "

“I find hope in the darkest of days, and focus in the brightest"

So what am I HOPING for in April........

The following pictures are actually of the sun setting behind a cloud above the mountains.....

The "Flattening of the Curve" that supposedly we are all working so hard for with Social Distancing.....
That my family remains safe, healthy and happy.......
That the number of positive tests and deaths start to decline.......
That the number of negative tests and recovery rates increase.......
Notice that I caught a bird flying in the left upper hand corner in the picture above.....
That instead of things returning to "Normal" that we learn from this experience......
And that we change the way we choose what and who we spend our time on, our money on, our energy on and in general, how we live our lives!!!
I HOPE that we all learn from our past mistakes and change the way that we look at the future......

Because on this Blog and on my personal face book site, even though many things in the World are now cancelled while we wait.......
HOPE WILL NOT BE CANCELLED!!!!!

And most of all, I HOPE that this will all be over soon and then we all can rethink our lives!!!

Do you have HOPE?

And I HOPE you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. I feel the same.. Facebook I am off of. Just too much for me with crap coming from every direction etc.. Plus I found out more about some of my distant family and friends than I really wanted to know.
Yep, President has spoken and now up to Governors of our states to do what is needed to do. I watch the local news too and see what is going on in my area. Rest, I cannot do a thing about. So I am weeding and watching the sunsets and now chopping my boxwoods to some kind of shape. I will just call it art if I mess them up too bad.
    Have a good day

  2. I stopped watching national news years ago. That much improved my peace of mind. I watch local news for the weather report so I can plan my day.

  6. Deb, this was so great! I had similar thoughts but didn't say them quite as eloquently as you did. We have to have hope or we are doomed in every way possible. We all deserve so much more than we are getting right now. Your photos are gorgeous..Take care, my friend and stay well thoughts to you and your family..xxoJudy

  8. Fabulous thoughts. I am particularly moved by Einstein's words. People can't forget the lessons that need to be learnt from this crisis if humanity, and our environment, are to survive and thrive long term. Stay safe.

  9. I put several of these on my time-line as I know my Al-Anon friends will appreciate them! I had a friend who used to say, "If you are going to worry, why pray. If you are going to pray, why worry?" I have a saying on my bedroom wall,"If you can't sleep, don't count sheep, talk to the Shepherd." All that I have learned in my program, has helped my accept what is going on. Another friend told us he says the Serenity Prayer twice while washing his hands; it's about the same length as Happy Birthday! And much more helpful!
