Red and Gold Valentine's Entry in the Living Room, 2020

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I want to Thank everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday both here on the Blog and on face book!!

In my last post, I mentioned why even though I like to celebrate my Birthday quietly, I looked forward to this Birthday, my 62nd Birthday, for the last 42 years.....
I also shared my 3 red and gold Valentine's Trees in the Living Room......
Click HERE if you missed that post.....

Now I just mentioned that I do not like to celebrate my Birthday with a lot of pomp and circumstance.....

On Friday night, Joe and I attended the Wilkes Barre / Scranton Penguins Hockey game at the arena that is 5 minutes from our house.....

Our niece Renae and our great nieces Cortney, Caitlin and Carly attended the game with us ....

During intermission between the 2nd and 3rd quarter, Joe told me that my name was going to be up on the Video Board in the center of the Arena for my Birthday.......

Okay, he has done this before but the girls were getting out their phones to take pictures and were all giggling......

For good reason because this is why!!!!
Yes, I am thrilled that I am now eligible to collect some of the money that I have paid into Social Security all these years!!!

But so much for celebrating my Birthday quietly without much Pomp and Circumstance!!

The Girls loved it and were giving Joe and I high 5's!!!

We did have a great time!!!

Yesterday on Saturday, we celebrated at home with our sons and daughter-in law by ordering pizza and chicken tenders......

And Joe kept the theme going.......
Originally, I had planned for my Birthday to be my last day of work before I retired but that did not happen as I resigned in August from the job I had for almost 42 years, after my Knee Replacement Surgery....
So I do consider this date as my official Retirement date because I will now start to receive my Social Security and my Retirement Annuity benefits...........
Can you tell that Joe had fun with this???????

Anyway, I did have a wonderful 62nd Birthday!!!

Today, I will be sharing the entry way into our townhouse decorated for Valentine's Day and the month of February......

I decorated the Living Room in red and gold for Valentine's.......

I hung a Valentine's plaque that I made on the curtain rod of the front door......
To the right of the door when you walk in , is a marble top plant stand......
I filled this hurricane candle holder with red and gold ornaments......
A Valentine's  heart that I embellished sits in front of the hurricane candle holder........

The apothecary jar underneath is surrounded with a garland with red velvet roses.......
To the left is Hutch........
On top of the hutch......
The red roses are ornaments that I bought a few years back at Big Lot's.....
A Valentine Angel.....
A garland with red velvet and gold roses rest on top of the hutch.....
Inside the hutch.......
Angels........
Iris Herringbone depression glass......
Crystal.......
And gold mercury glass.....
On each side of the hutch.....

Over by the stairs......
Lanterns.....
A wreath I made......
On the stairs.....
I bought this mercury glass globe at Ollie's before Christmas.....
My Branch Tree decorated for Valentine's Day.....
I like to use this chair for Seasonal displays....
I embellished these red velvet candy heart boxes that I bought on Clearance one year at Target......
Underneath the chair.....
A heart shaped vase filled with red roses and heart picks inside of the lantern.....
Red velvet rose garland on top of the curio.....
Looking down the hall way to the Kitchen.....
On the mirror in the hall between the coat closet and the Powder Room.....
I made this wreath years ago and just found this cute pink Valentine's truck at Dollar General for $1.00!!
I added it to the center of the wreath......
Hanging below it is a Winter plaque that I made.....
And this is where I will sign off for today.....

In my next post, I will be sharing more Valentine's vignettes in the Living Room.......
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

  4. Hi Debbie: What a fun thing to have your name up in lights. You are a star, my friend, and Happy Birthday and SS! I go to lunch with three of my friends from work. We all retired around the same time and we put all of our first initials together and call ourselves Just (judy) Social (Susan) Security (Sandi) Cuties (Cheryl). We have a good time once every month. Your valentines looks so bright and pretty. I haven't done any Valentine decorating yet. I do have one heart hanging on the chimney cupboard but that is there all the time, but think it might still count..Happy Monday..xxoJudy

  8. I'm so glad you had a lovely birthday; you didn't say if your team won, though! The cake and announcement were lovely touches that Joe made. How thoughtful. I so enjoyed seeing all your decor! I had to smile when I saw your pink truck. I did several decorations this year with the red pickup and tree (including $1 dish and pot holders from the Christmas Tree Shop!
