I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

A Valentine's Tablescape, 2020

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

It's almost Valentine's Day so I thought that I would put together a Valentine's tablescape......

But first, I want to Thank these hosts for featuring my post, 3 Red and Gold Valentine's Tree's in the Living Room.......
Thanks to Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for choosing it as one of from last week's Over the Moon Kinky Party!!
Thanks so much, Bev!!

And Thanks to Linda, over at Life and Linda, who featured it from last week's Love Your Creativity Link Party!!!
Thanks again, Linda!!!

Please stop by and link up to these great parties!!!

Normally, I don't set the Dining Room table because Joe has to read the newspaper on it in the mornings and we eat Dinner there on a daily basis......

I bought a new Valentine's tablecloth in Boscov's a while ago....
You can see the Dining Room Valentine's Tree in the back ground.....

I have the new tablecloth on the Dining Room table with a few vinyl place mats that look as if they are lace.....
And I set up a bit of a centerpiece in the middle......
A red and white tiered tray with faux candies and pastries on it
This suffices for every day use and at least the table looks pretty......

I rummaged around and found a few things that I decided to use to put this tablescape together.....
The table is set for just two........
And since chocolate and pastries are one of the mainstays of Valentine's day, I thought I would decorate this tablescape along those lines.....
Joe and I do not celebrate Valentine's Day with buying each other gifts or anything like that but we will order Take Home from one of our favorite restaurants for a nice dinner over the weekend some time....
I do not like going out to eat because it is always too crowded and too loud and being that we do live by many different types of restaurants and eateries it is so very convenient to get Take Home food and eat it in the privacy of our own home which I would rather....

I left the vinyl lace like place mats on the table for the 2 place settings....
I discovered that I had 2 round red place mats in my stash of linens so I placed them on top of the other place mats.....
Since I used plain white dishes with a gold rim, I also used gold flatware......

I bought these red melamine heart dessert plates on Clearance in Target a few years back.....
Joe had bought a dozen donuts using a Gift Card that we had and brought home a few heart shaped donuts.....

Since this is more of a cup of coffee and a few goodies type of tablescape, I decided to use Valentine's mugs that Joe picked up on Clearance last year......
I added a few things to the center of the table.......
I pulled 2 candle holders from the top of the cabinet in the Dining Room.....
I kept the tiered tray in the center of the table.......
A vintage styled Valentine's card and a heart shaped dish with a faux cupcake......
Another heart shaped dessert plate with a different heart shaped donut on it.......
The tiered tray with faux pastries and candies has been placed on a red charger plate.........
2 Victorian styled calling cards on each side.......
Another faux pastry sitting in a vintage milk glass dish.......

And a Victorian Book of Love Poems........
" How Do I Love Thee?"
This is the front cover of the book, "Forget Me Nots"......
Opened to another page.......
An antique Victorian Valentine post card......
I have it in plastic to preserve it.......
 The other place setting.....
 Crystal goblets for water.......
Another Valentine's mug......
Joe and I enjoyed our donuts and coffee.....
Since I now have the time, I enjoy "playing" around with tablescapes!

In my last post, I mentioned that we had to replace our hot water heater, again, for the 6th time in 42 years which is how long we have owned our home....

I had sent Joe to Lowe's to get one of these to put the water heater on to help prevent flooding when it blows since we do not have a basement and run the risk of it flooding our hall way and even into our Dining Room......
Thank God, Joe happened to catch it just in time before this happened.......

This large one was $20 but he mentioned that they had a smaller one for $15........
Of course, I am looking at this and seeing all kinds of possibilities!!!

How about for a fairy garden and it even has a hole for drainage!!!

I just may be picking up a smaller version of this......

I do plan on decreasing the amount of flowers I plant this coming Summer Season and getting rid of one of my outdoor Fairy Gardens as the weather here in NEPA has taken a toll on my Fairy Garden houses and things....

So I am maybe looking to do some other projects for the Garden....

In my next post, I will be sharing our home all decked out for Winter and Valentine's Day in a Winter and Valentine's Home Tour .......

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!
