I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

A Bit of Valentine's In the Powder Room......

   Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Can you believe that January is almost over already?????

My "Word of the Month" for January is Productivity!!!
So I how have I done this month focusing on Productivity????

I think that I have done pretty well!!

I have been very busy and I feel pretty productive.....

This is what I have accomplished to date in January.....

Changed over the outside of the house from Christmas to Winter decorations
Cleaned thoroughly and changed over from Christmas to Valentine's Day decorations in the Living Room....
  And the Dining Room.....
I will be sharing these rooms in future posts......

Cleaned thoroughly and changed over from Christmas to Winter decorations in the Den
Cleaned thoroughly and changed over from Christmas to Winter and a bit of Valentine's in the Kitchen........
Made valances and a curtain for the Kitchen
And in the Powder Room, I removed anything Christmas, replacing it with Valentine's decorations.....

Which I will be sharing with you today......

In packing away Christmas, I have also labeled all tubs and kept a record of how many and what kind of tubs and where they are stored for each room.....
I also decided on passing on a few more decorations and donated some to Salvation Army...

I have also written down notes about plans for decorating for Christmas next year, crafts I want to make, gifts I am thinking of giving and entertaining I want to do and places I want to go...

I have managed to go through a few cupboards and drawers in the Kitchen and cleaned out and donated more things to Salvation Army...

So I think I have done fairly well with being Productive, don't you?????

I am still deciding on what will be my "Word of the Month" for February....

I do have different plans for next month which I will be letting you know about in a future post....

In today's post, I want to show you the Powder Room.....

But first, I want to Thank, Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for featuring my post, Winter Vignettes in the Den, from last week's Over the Moon Party!!
 Thanks so much, Bev!!

Please stop by and link up to this wonderful party!!

There wasn't too much for me to do in the Powder Room after Christmas was over.....
All I had to do was remove anything that pertained to Christmas, leaving the Snow Buddies out and adding Valentine's decor.....

I started at the door by replacing the Christmas wreath with a Valentine's wreath that I made a few years back......
I hung a Valentine's slate in the center of the wreath....
I bought this rose ribbon at Dollar Tree a few years ago.....
I used it also on the wreath along with red and white deco mesh ribbon.....
I moved the Winter evergreen swag that hung above the door for Christmas, out in the Den.....
I hung a small Valentine's wreath above the door.....
I bought this ribbon also at Dollar Tree.....
In the corner by the sink.....
I added a red bottle brush tree......
That I bought on Clearance at Target one year for 90% off......
I glued some Valentine trim to the top of the little pot that it is in and a few puffy red hearts.....

I hung a silver heart ornament under the Winter slate....
Everything on top of the medicine cabinet stayed the same......
For Christmas, I had changed out the pictures in these frames with these Christmas cards showing Winter scenes.......
Above the commode on a shelf unit......
I changed out an evergreen tree for another red bottle brush tree......
Beneath the shelf unit....
I simply taped another Christmas card with a Winter scene on it in Blue to a tile like block......
On top of the commode.....
I changed a few Snow Buddies around....

In the corner.......
I have been using my new camera for a few posts now and I love how the lighting is showing up better in the pictures......
You can see how the silver mercury glass trees on the shelves look lit up......

I removed all the blatantly Christmas ornaments from the Tree......
And I replaced them with red heart ornaments.......

This is what the Tree looks like not lit up......
I also threw on a few silver hearts.....
And again with the blue and white lights on.....
Here's a closer look.......
I replaced the Snow Buddy Santa's that were on the Village shelf with other Snow Buddies.......
I just love those pops of red......
On the little stand next to the estagere........
I replaced Christmas items with a vase filled with red roses and a Valentine's ribbon .......
Along with "The Queen of Everything" that Joe bought for me many years ago!!!
Was he trying to tell me something??????
I see when I took these pics, I forgot to remove my Afrin Nasal Spray for my sinuses......

On the bottom shelf is a red tea pot with a Snow Man on it.....
On the shelf on this wall......
I removed the pine cones on each side of the mercury glass trees on the small shelves with red roses.......
I changed out some of the Snow Buddies with Valentine's Snow Buddies.......
"Be Mine"
The battery operated candles are actually Emergency candles bought at Dollar Tree and I thought they were perfect here because they are the cool blue LED lights which look blue.....
I added a silver mercury heart and more Valentine's Snow Buddies...
I had to buy a Mail Man Snow Buddy as Joe is a retired Letter Carrier.....
I added heart ornaments to the scones....

And I changed out the card that had been in this frame with a nicer looking Winter scene.....
I left the evergreen swag above the closet that houses the washer and dryer.....
I hope you enjoyed seeing how a few changes could change a room from one Holiday to the next......
The Powder room will stay like this until the end of February when I will pack away the Snow Buddies and return to to "normal"......
In my next post, I will be sharing the Living Room decorated for Valentine's Day......
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

  3. Love the powder room tree, Debbie! You really were busy this month. It all looks great. Your dining room looks like a tea room at a Victorian hotel. I love it!

  7. I like your idea to remove the Christmas and leave out the snowman then add Valentine's decor. Is this what you do every season?
