I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Front Yard Project, Garden Art and Signs of Spring!!

Welcome!!

In my last post, I showed you how I created a Fairy Garden inside on the mantle of my faux fireplace in the Sitting Room....
Click HERE if you missed it...

Finally, we have been having some Spring like weather and that allowed us to get the front yard in shape for the Summer......

But before I continue, I want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for featuring my post,
Roses and Tea Cups, from last week's Thursday Favorite Things party!!
Thanks so much, Bev!!

I also want to Thank Karren, over at Oh My Heartsie Girl, for featuring my post, Spring/Summer China Cupboard, Part 2, from last week's Friday Feature Linky Party!!
 Thanks again, Karren!!

Please stop by and link up to these great parties!!

We were finally able to get outside and do some much needed yard work after the long hard Winter that we had.....

In the small flower bed that we have underneath our Living Room window.......
This plastic border has been here for about 15-20 years but was now showing signs of wear and tear.....
Joe took it out and bought these very inexpensive brick border pieces at Lowes.......
They were only $1.50 each........
I think they will hold up pretty good with our harsh Winters......
And I was able put put the little black wrought iron fencing back too!!
New mulch was put down and Joe brought the Garden Art home from our storage shed where all our outdoor things are stored for the Winter.......
My solar bird bath that I bought in Big Lot's a few years ago now sits in the flower bed between the 2 shrubs......
We also put out all the solar lights.....
2 Fairies flank each side of the bird bath........
Soon some of the ground cover plants will start to come up here in this little flower bed......
All in all, I think this project came out pretty good!!
Looking from the front porch at our small flower bed that runs in front of our townhouse at the top of the slope in front of our house........
You can see my neighbor's forsythia is in full bloom........
This is always the first Spring blooms in our area.......
2 Fairies sit on each side of the sidewalk before the steps that go down to my neighbor's townhouses.......
A solar rock is to the side of the Fairy near the flower bed.......
I still have to find the floral garland that I wrap around the base of the mail box!!!

I have had this chippy angel for many years........
I bought it at Target after Christmas one year......
New mulch was also put down in this flower bed........
Solar lighting and a few sweet little bunnies........

Looking at my park bench from the front porch.........
The posts on the bench will be planted with flowers in about 2 weeks or so when the threat of frost has passed here in NEPA........
I hung 2 pretty stained glass bird baths on the hooks on each side of the bench.....
A few deer to the side.......
And a Momma bunny and her baby.......
You can see that the leaves are just started to show on the trees along our road......
And angel sits on the bench......
And a doggie angel and fairy sits on the ground by the rock that says "Our Beloved Pet" in remembrance of our 2 fur babies.......
Looking at the end of the flower bed in front of our townhouse.......
The other stained glass bird bath.......
My deer couple that Joe bought on clearance one year after Christmas in Wegman's......
This is what my forsythia looked like in full bloom......
You can see the buds on the azalea bush.........
This is usually the first one to bloom out of the 3 that are in front of our house.......
This sweet little girl was my dear neighbor Elly's, who recently passed away........
She now graces my yard as a remembrance of my neighbor, Elly........

And in my back yard, my red leaf tree is in bloom........
And Lilacs are starting to open on my tree in the back yard!!!

I was finally able to share these signs of Spring and new life here in NEPA after a long Winter......

I hope you enjoyed seeing them and I will be back soon to share the azaleas and the phlox in our slope when they start to bloom........

So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  2. Your yard is looking great! I am currently in the process of cleaning ours and hoping to do some landscaping as well. It needs it as it has been let go for a couple of years and I am tired of it!

  4. I can't get over that your Forsythia is just blooming. Mine has been gone about three weeks. I love those bright yellow bushes. I know you are so happy to be doing spring planting and decorating and it all looks so cheery. Joe purchased some fine white deer, I do like those and I want some now. I would put a red bow on them for Christmas. I wonder if my Lowes has those edging for a $1.50? What a deal. I would get those too. Awesome deal. Happy Sunday. Betsy

Hope you are getting some spring sunshine today. We are having a few sprinkles and had our first thunder storm last night. I guess spring is here! xo hugs- Karen

  14. Debbie, the new border looks great! Adding mulch each year gives the garden such a boost. I'm not quite through putting ours down. The Forsythia is the first sign of spring for me as well. Thanks for sharing with SYC and the Garden party.

  20. Hi Debbie! It's all looking great at your home. I love your fairy garden pieces, especially. The birdbath is so pretty! Would you believe that here in Texas, the forsythia bloomed about two months ago and it's already almost 100 degrees! Thank goodness for air conditioning. :)

  21. All of your decor is fun in the garden, but that red leaf tree was my favorite view.
