Today, I will be sharing a bit of Victorian Romance in our Dining Room on the Buffet!!
But first, I want to Thank Lory, over at DesignThusiasm, for featuring my post, Roses and Tea Cups, from last week's Style Showcase Party!!!
Thanks so much, Lory and also Thanks to the other host of this lovely party, Janet, over at
Shabbyfufu!!!!
Please stop by and link up to this wonderful party!!
In a previous post, I shared this small round table in the corner of the Dining Room........
Click HERE if you missed that post......
Today, I will be sharing my buffet in the Dining Room......
As I have mentioned many times before, I am a Victorian Soul and the Dining Room is the one room in our townhouse that in my opinion, is the most Victorian looking room........
But before I go any further, I would like to explain my decision for decorating my home in the Victorian fashion.........
Several years ago, I realized that due to numerous health issues, traveling would no longer be something that I would be able to do....
So I decided to turn our 1970's townhouse into my very own vacation home......
I love the Victorian Era and would love nothing more then to stay in Victorian Bed and Breakfast Homes.......
So I decided that our home would become my very own Victorian Bed and Breakfast and I would then feel as if I was on vacation every time I walked through the front door.......
I will be doing a Series of posts titled, My Very Own Victorian Bed and Breakfast!!!!
This post is the first in that Series........
Today, I am going to focus on this corner in the Dining Room.......
On the wall by the Kitchen......
Years ago, I was a huge fan of the Party Plan, Home Interiors..........
I bought tons of their products and then found more at Flea Markets and Yard Sales years later........
I still love their products and have kept them in our home because they suit my style!
This is a Home Interiors picture of a Fan.....
These 2 magnolia metal plaques match the border in the Dining Room.....
I was lucky enough to find them at a yard sale!!
On the Home Interiors shelf underneath the picture is a Thomas Kinkade figurine that is part of the Mother and Child Collection.........
"My Love for You is Eternal"
There are several Swarovski Crystals on the figurine......
On the wall above the buffet.......
On another HI shelf are more of the tea cups in my collection........
I will be showcasing these tea cups in a future post.......
In the corner.......
Hanging in the corner is a tussie mussie that I made.........
A Thomas Kinkade plate.....
Which hangs above another HI picture......
And that picture matches the one next to it......
This photo of Joe's Maternal Grand Parents sits on another HI shelf........
Along with a Thomas Kinkade Pink Lady and a pink mercury glass candle holder.......
And now to the buffet........
For the most part, the buffet will stay like this for most of the Summer.........
Until it is time for me to start to decorate for the Fall and Winter Holidays again......
Let's take a closer look over on the left side......
I bought this lamp at a Church Flea Market......
I absolutely love this lamp.....
In front of the lamp.........
A HI Victorian Lady figurine.......
A pink Depression Glass Biscuit Jar filled with faux pastries.......
A photo of what I call "Instant Relatives", photos I bought at flea markets, in a Victorian styled frame........
In the center of the buffet.......
I bought this cake pedestal on Amazon.....
A mini Tea Set sits on top on the pedestal......
Faux candies sit in front of the Tea Set.........
Isn't the Tea Set pretty??????
2 vintage china boxes sit in on each side of the pedestal.......
In front of the cake pedestal is a vintage Tea Cup and Saucer......
Underneath the tea cup and saucer is a beautiful Pink Depression Glass plate that I bought at a yard sale........
The saucer......
The markings on the saucer........
You can see that the tea cup and saucer have a Lusterware finish to them.......
Don't you just adore the shape of the tea cup?????
Such a pretty pattern.......
On the right side........
Another frame with a photo of "Instant Relatives" inside of it!!!
A Candelabra that I bought any years ago at a yard sale and painted pink........
HI votive cups grace the candelabra........
A pink Depression Glass candy dish also filled with faux candies.........
Another HI Victorian Lady figurine.........
As I mentioned before, the buffet will pretty much stay that way for most of the Summer......
I hope that you enjoyed seeing this part of our Dining Room.......
In a future post, I will continue with this Series and share more of the Dining Room.......
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......
And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

Debbie ! I too love Home Interior and seem to find a lot of items in the thrift stores. I'm hoping to find some of their booklets just to see how the items are staged! Your displays are wonderful .
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and for leaving a comment!! I was not able to find any other way to get in touch with you so I am doing so here. I have yet to fnd any of the booklets for Home Interiors....
DeleteHugs,
Deb
It makes you wonder what stories these antiques would tell if they could.
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie:
ReplyDeleteSeeing your post reminds me to mention there is a Victorian B & B in Boonville that the owners would love to sell. They want to move to be near family. Hearing you mention B & B made me think to tell you! (It is reasonable because they are wanting to live near their grandchildren) If you are interested it is the High Street Victorian B & B. http://www.highstreetvictorian.com/
What a pretty B&B. Book me a room! I might not be able to afford it though
ReplyDeleteI think your rate should be priceless! Your home is lovely thanks for sharing it!
It's almost the weekend!
You've got so many gorgeous victorian items. I really like the beautiful figurine
ReplyDeleteHugs
Your B B B (Bed & Breakfast Buffet....lol) is lovely Debbie! I agree with you, the mini tea set is just gorgeous! Have a wonderful week end.....hugs...
ReplyDeleteOMG! it looks like palace.. so, so beautiful..
ReplyDeleteGorgeous teacups and sweet figurines.I also love the wedding picture.Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I love your story! Not able to travel, so you turned your own home into just the sort of B&B you'd like to stay in on vacation. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteMy thought exactly Jean (above) I too love that your turned something that could have felt negative into something that has energised and delighted you everytime you turn the key in the lock and see what you have created. Our homes are so important to us as a little sanctuary in this crazy world, turning back the clock a little (but with all mod cons and Wifi!) is no bad thing. Love it!
ReplyDeleteWren x
Debbie, it truly does have the feel of a Victoian Bed and Breakfast. I'm sure it makes you very happy! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
I always enjoy the tours of your home. Victorian is definitely it! I wish had the time you spend dusting though! I like Victorian/shabby chic/romantic type things; I was born in the wrong century, I think! But I do love mod cons! Thank you for all the work you put into these posts. Happy Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteKathy,
DeleteThanks so muchf or stopping by!! I could not find any other way to get in touch with you so I am doing so here. I like to say this to people, "Who dusts??" LOL!!
Hugs,
Deb
Debbie, Love your series idea and all of your lovely Victorian accents. Thank you for sharing at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteI love the Victorian look too, Debbie. Love that Victorian cup and saucer...the one you called Lustreware. The tea set on the cake plate is also very pretty. Love your instant relatives too! I have quite a few of those too.
ReplyDeleteI have the same biscuit jar and I love it. Your pink depression glass is stunning. Thanks for sharing your own B and B pictures with us. What a great way to live with the style you always wanted to visit.
ReplyDeleteYou have lovely tea sets. It is good to see you. Thanks for sharing at Home Sweet Home.
ReplyDeleteYour lovely ladies brought back memories. My mother had a few and now I'm wondering whatever happened to them.
ReplyDeleteLove all of your tea sets! Thank you for linking up with It's a Spring Tea Link Party - we are so happy you joined us! Angelina @ Petite Haus
