I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Thanks ,once again, to Andrea, over at the Cottage Market, for choosing my post, Fall/4th Quarterly Goals and Possibilities List, as one of her features from last week's A Morning Cup of Joe Link Party!!

 Thanks so much, Andrea!!

Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

I wanted to share another amazing Sunset from my front porch.....

This may be one of the last sunsets I can see from the front this Season as the Sun is not making it's way around to the front of my house....

These pictures were taken from the back yard where the Sun will set until I can see it in the front again around April....

I did pack up all the faux flowers that I bought this Spring.....

I bagged each floral arrangement from each pot so I can simply put them back in the pots next year...

I was able to store them all in 2 tubs and I took them down to the storage shed that I rent...

When I took the faux flowers out of the pots, I was surprised to find that I had petunias and begonias that had reseeded themselves in the pots....

We did have frost on Friday morning as we had low's in the 30's but my flowers still survived....

Today, I am sharing how I did with my Goals for the month of September on my Summer/3nd Quarterly Goals List.....

My Goals are more of a To Do List for each Month and Season of the year....

So let's see how I did with my Monthly Goals in September.....

September begins what I call my Holiday Season which lasts until after Easter for me....

So in September, a lot of Seasonal work needed to be done.....

Deep clean the Powder Room and decorate it for Halloween - YES!!

I still have to do a post on my Gothic Pink and Black Halloween Powder Room but here are some sneak peeks....

Have my son Jim remove all the air conditioners from the windows - NOPE!

Clean the windows in the Living Room, Bedroom and Den - NOPE!

These were deferred til next Tuesday as we had many days in September where it was over 80 degrees...

So I pretty much accomplished all my monthly goals for this month that I listed except for the air conditioners removal but Mother Nature took that right out of my control....

I also managed to decorate Nelson Crest, my Victorian Doll House for Halloween in September which I did not list...

I will be doing a post in the future on this....

In September, I also started working on getting the back yard and patio cleaned up for the coming Winter....

Raking up leaves after blowing them against the back of the house...

Cleaned and rolled up the rugs from the Patio and took them and the pillows and seat cushions down to my storage shed...

And I also started packing up the Patio decor and the yard art.....

So I think September was definitely a productive month!!

I wanted to also do an update on my Possibilities List for this year...

My Possibilities List is more of a Bucket type of List.....

One thing on the List that I have been trying to focus on is.....

Be in contact more, whether through messages, texts, phone calls or visits with more family members....

My son Joey and I also attended the annual Fall Fest at my church....

I am also active in the new Senior Social Club at my church.....

Actually, I am now the newly elected President!

Good Grief!!

Another one on the Possibilities List that I have really been working on is.....

 I HOPE to buy LESS...

I really cut down on buying any new Fall and Halloween decorations this Season...

And I have really cut back on buying other things like clothes, shoes and household things....

In the 17 months since my husband Joe passed away, I have updated my very old wardrobe and bought some household things that I needed and wanted....

And now, I think I have all that I need....

Another Possibility is that I HOPED to Shop my own home...

And I think I have been doing that with trying to use the things I have in different rooms and in other ways....

I also HOPED to try some new recipes and do more cooking.....

I made a turkey breast for Dinner for my son Joey and I just the other day and I have been trying out some different crock pot and casserole recipes over the past few months...

I also accomplished a huge Financial Goal of mine having to do with Christmas....

I  was able to save quite a bit of money for Christmas gifts, meals, etc. in the form of a Christmas Club!

I actually am really proud of myself in doing so!!!

And I am happy to say that I have finished shopping for my twin granddaughters Christmas and Birthday ( December 29th is their Birthday) gifts that their parents approved of...

The one thing that I really failed at, especially for the month of September, is responding to comments and emails on my Blog and for that I am very sorry and hope to catch up really soon....

In my defense, you can see that I have really been busy....

My One Little Word for this Year is HOPE!!!

Every day I wake up with the HOPE that it will be a Good Day....

And I do HOPE to continue to....

Sometimes just the simplest things can bring you JOY.....

Like seeing the beautiful sunsets from my front porch and discovering that those begonias had reseeded themselves and were growing amongst my faux flowers....

Watching more You Tube decorating videos for inspiration is also on my Possibilities List and I have been playing catch up on a lot of the Halloween videos...

One You Tube personality that I really love watching is Jean E....

She just turned 78 and her husband is 81 and they still go to yard sales every weekend, continuing to collect their "treasures" as she calls them...

Jean decorates her home for every Holiday with reckless abandon and I Love it!

Here is a link to her video of her Living Room decorated for Halloween....

In each of her videos, she encourages everyone to "take a few moments in your day to do something that you love because it will make you happy and everyone else around you happy....

Even if it is something that only takes a few minutes.....

I have been taking her wonderful advice as I have also been trying to Live Intentionally....

Living intentionally means consciously aligning your daily choices and actions with your personal values, beliefs, and vision for your life, rather than being passively influenced by external forces or circumstances. "

"It involves identifying what truly matters to you, taking ownership of your decisions, and using that clarity to create a life of purpose, meaning, and satisfaction on your own terms..."

Now that I am a widow, I have been working on redefining what the rest of my life will look like....

How are you doing with your Monthly Goals if you have any or your Possibilities or Bucket list for this year???

I HOPE you will stop by to visit again on MONDAY for my next post!!!

  1. You are one busy lady, goals met for the month, won't count the ac units as September had some hot days. Did you find there was any fading on the artificial flowers? I see some in gardens around here and they don't look real at all because of the fading. thanksgiving long weekend here in Canada, turkey cooking the oven, dinner with family tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend.
