It was quite the pleasant surprise this morning as we woke up to this!!!!

A coating of SNOW!!!!

It was a surprise as no one really called for it!!

Hopefully, we will get a lot more in February/March because with no Snow Melt from the Winter, our water supplies may be in jeopardy and there may be water restrictions come the Spring!!

I am pleased to say that last week, I finally finished packing away all of Christmas in the downstairs and decorating it for Winter/ Valentine's!!!

Some sneak peeks for the Living Room.....

 And the Dining Room....

I will be doing posts on these rooms in the future!!

I will start packing away Christmas upstairs the second week of February as I want to enjoy it a bit longer!!!!

I still decorate it like a window.....

A Snowman Cookie Cutter hangs on the other side.....

Last year, I made a new Winter swag to hang above the sink.....

I changed the valance to one I made from a tablecloth, hung bird houses from the fretwork and decorated the tea cup chandy that I made for Valentine's.......

I left up the Hot Cocoa signs, bought in Dollar General, at Christmas on each side of the cabinets....

The window sill is decorated with Snowmen and Red Cardinals which is the theme for the Kitchen for Winter....

Snowmen that I made out of clay pots last year....

 On top of the fridge.....

This year, I used the rag rug that I used on the counter bar in previous years here on the top of the fridge....

I bought the tea pot at a flea market many years ago....

I kept out a few tins that I bought in Dollar General for Christmas for elevation....

My friend Anne Marie gifted me this adorable Snowman a few years ago.....

Notice that there are red Cardinals on the bottle brush tree in the back ground....

I just realized that the Red Cardinal on the lamp shade is taking a nose dive!!!

The Cute Snowman with the Red Cardinals was a Christmas gift this year from my friend Anne Marie.....

The counter bar......

I left the garland up after Christmas and decorated it for Winter.....

Owls and Snowflakes....

A bow made from the same plaid and Red Cardinal ribbon hangs in the center that I used through out the Kitchen.....

 Icicles, bird houses and reindeer.....

Before Christmas, I bought 2 Red Cardinal place mats at Ollies and used them as a runner on the counter bar....

On the left side.....

Mason jars with Red Cardinals and bottle brush trees inside of them on top of the red mercury candle holders......

The small Snowman tea pot is filled with peppermint candy.....

I left out the Snowman tea pot after Christmas.....

On the other side....

I left out one of the reindeer mugs that I bought in Big Lot's before Christmas and filled it with cough drops....

I made the cafe curtain from a tablecloth and I bought the Red Cardinal rug in Ollies.....

Joe puts his "Goodies" in the basket that was gifted to my by Trish, who owns the house next to us....

On the side of the counter bar......

"Baby! It's Cold Outside"

  2. I've been MIA for just over a month, taking a break from all social media. Time to start back at it. In the blink of an eye it is February. Frigid cold here this week. Cardinals are my favourite winter bird and we have lots at our feeders. They stand out so much in the snowy months with their gorgeous red plumage. Stay warm and cozy.

  5. We have been fortunate that even though we haven't had any snow it has been VERY rainy here so we're hopeful that even if it stays like this we won't have major water problems in spring/summer. Your kitchen looks great!

  6. Oh, Debbie, you're just the best! I love the way you decorate for each holiday and keep your house so cheerful even when it's gloomy outside.

Would you believe that so far we have not had one bit of snow or ice? But my sister who lives in the deep South has had both. A very strange winter this has been.

Thanks so much for joining the Grace at Home party at Imparting Grace. I'm featuring you this week!
