I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Winter China Cupboard in the Den and New Buys, 2023

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I am now posting 3 times a week !!!

I will be posting on TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today, I will be sharing the China Cupboard in the Den, decorated for Winter, and a few more New Buys....

In my last post, I shared the Den decorated for Winter in a Woodland Winter Wonderland theme....

And now for a few Personal Notes...

After the New Year, I am continuing along my journey toward a Healthier Life...

In December, my goal was to hold steady and not gain the 10 pounds I usually gain over the Holidays...

I did gain a pound which I already lost but I believe I have hit another plateau....

However, I must be losing inches from the walking that I do daily.....

This is what I wore to Mass on Sunday morning.....

These slacks are the lowest size I now own and they are getting loose as I had to pull them up past my waist!!!

And the sweater is a bit big too!!!

I do believe I am gaining muscle mass which will actually cause you to not lost weight because you are storing more glycogen to fuel that exercise....

Click HERE to read an article about that....

Hopefully, I will get over this plateau soon...

I am going to put off buying new clothes as long as I possibly can....

You can see in the picture that I managed to pack away the Village from under the Tree in the Living Room....

I have been busy packing away Christmas and changing the house over to Winter/Valentine's decor....

I finished the Kitchen yesterday and started packing away everything for the Living Room....

Here are a few sneak peeks of the Kitchen....

I should finish the Living Room and have it decorated for Valentine's by the weekend and hopefully, get the Dining Room packed up and redecorated by mid week next week....

I did pick up a few New Buys recently at after Christmas sales that I have used for Winter decorations.....

In Big Lot's which marked their Christmas things down to 75% off plus we had $5 off $15 and $10 off $40 coupons....

The reindeer ornaments were hung on this Winter Tree in the Den.....

I bought this open mouth Snowman cookie jar for under $3.....

I used it in the Kitchen but not as a cookie jar....

I am not a big fan of the whole red truck craze which is now dying out but I did like this white truck for around $2.....

And this is what I did with it.....

I took a wreath from my stash and wrapped ribbon that I bought , also after Christmas, around it....

And also made a bow....

I attached the truck to the wreath and also added some snowballs and pine cones which I also bought after Christmas.....

In the post I did on my Winter Front Porch, I shared that I made this sign bought at Big Lot's for under $4.....

Into this sign......

Using this sign I bought at Big Lot's....

And this one bought at Dollar Tree for $2....

What I did notice is that every time I went to Big Lot's and Dollar General, new things that I had not seen all Season appeared to be put out for Christmas Clearance....

I guess they were finding unpacked boxes in the storage room.....

An example of that are these deer and snow flakes that I bought in Dollar General ....

These were only $2 each....

And these were only 50 cents each....

I used these in the Kitchen which I will be sharing in a future post.....

These were $1.50 and I also did not see them out on previous visits to Dollar Tree.....

These 2 silver chargers were a Buck a piece....

When I went to Dollar General this past Saturday, Christmas was marked down to 70% off and these 2 gold mercury glass pedestals were considered Christmas!!

The larger one was originally $12 and the smaller one was $10

So for $ 3.60 and  $3.00 a piece, I grabbed them!!

I know I will be using these year round....

I think I am now done shopping after Christmas sales as these is not much left out there...

Today, I will be sharing how I changed over the China Cupboard in the Den to Winter....

This is what it looked like for Christmas....

Click HERE if you would like to see that post....

And this is what it looks like now for the rest of the Winter.....

I only made a few changes.....

The top of the China Cupboard.....

I left out the ice church and house....

I moved some of the figurines up to the top....

I left out my Thomas Kinkade mugs with small flocked trees in them.....

I placed a burlap tree that I made in the center along with a Deer under glass....

I hung a large snowflake and white jingle bells on each side....

I left the inside of the china cupboard the same as it was at Christmas......

I added Dollar Tree snowflakes to the small flocked tree....

I added 2 houses and trees on the small table....

My Neighbor Elly loved snowmen and had quite a collection of them......

I used several of hers in the area in front of and around the china cupboard....

This is one of them....

I rearranged a few things on the vintage suitcases after moving some of the figures up to the top of the china cupboard......

This slate "Snowman Collector" was also my neighbor Elly's.....

I did pack away one house and replaced it with another snowman sitting on the pedestal....

On the side to the China Cupboard....

I already shared this Winter Bird Tree....

Click HERE if you missed that post....

To the left of that Tree on a sled are 2 more of Elly's Snowmen....

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I changed over the Den from Christmas to Winter....

It will stay this way until the beginning of March...

I will also decorate the China Cupboard for Saint Patrick's Day then.....

It took me 3 days to change over the Den.....

  1. You have so many fabulous winter touches and vignettes! It is frustrating to hit a weight loss plateau but keep doing what you're doing and eventually you will start shedding weight again. I always think that not only will that muscle mass help me later on.. it takes up less space in my body than fat cells!

  2. Hey Debbie,
Your den is so cozy, filled with lovely things and precious momentos! I've always admired the china cupboard as you change it up for each holiday or season. Those blue plates are very pretty. All the wall shelves you use in your decorating are attractive as well as practical. Did you find them in various places?
My Christmas decorations are finally put away. I do a little winter scene on my table along with another a small display. I'm emailing you the pictures..
    Blessings, Linda

  3. Linda,
Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind comments!! I enjoyed seeing the pictures you sent to me! Very pretty and thanks for the inspiration with using the Frosty Golden book...The wall shelves are all mostly old Home interiors products that I bought many years ago at parties and then at yard sales, flea markets and thrift shops. I hope you have a great weekend!! We are supposed to get snow! YEAH!
    Hugs,
    Deb

  5. My snowpeople come out after Christmas too. It's fun to change it up for winter after the Christmas things come down!

  6. It looks like there's a whole miniature world inside your Winter cupboard. Congratulations on your healthy weight loss! Time to buy new, smaller clothes. Thank you for sharing this post in the Talent-Sharing Tuesdays Link-Up 50.
