I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Pink Valentine's in the Dining Room. 2022

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Just a reminder, I will be posting on Wednesdays and Sundays every week so be sure to check back on those days to see a new post......

Today, I will be sharing my Dining Room decorated for Valentine's Day and the month of February.....

But first, I want to  Thanks Niki, over at Life as a Leo Wife, for choosing my post, Winter Woodland Forest in the Den, as one of her features from last week's Craft Creators link Party!!!

 Thanks so much, Niki!!

This is a NEW Linky party so please take the time to stop by and link up to this lovely party!!!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

Wilkes Barre Scranton Pens Chef Steve gave Joe some Jambalaya sauce to try when Joe was leaving work the other evening.....

There is chicken, shrimp and sausage in it....

I served it over rice and it was very good....

I really enjoyed it....

In my previous post, I shared that we had bought these dinners last week from the WB Scranton Pens Food Service, Reheat and Eat.....

I am happy to report that Joe actually ate the Beef Stroganoff and liked it....

Hell's Bells!!

LOL!!

I liked the noodles but I am not a meat lover ....

Now Joe does not even consider eating anything Chinese.....

After a dose of Bentyl, I did thoroughly enjoy the Lo Mein....

So it was all very good!!!!

I may order the Jambalaya again this week as Joey is ordering lasagna.....

I will keep you posted on what we get....

Friday is Take Home Dinner night , courtesy of Joey because I feed him every other night during the week...

This week was Buffalo Wild Wings....

I have never been one to order a burger at a fast food establishment as I always preferred chicken or fish over beef but for a place that specializes in chicken, they make a mean burger....

Joe and I both got the All American Burger with bacon and fries...

Joey got  the "Naked Chicken Tenders"....

And an order of Buffalo Mac and Cheese which I forgot to take a photo of but this is what it looks like on their web site...

Yes, that is chicken in there.....

Buffalo wild wings is right up at the top of the hill where you turn into the apartment complex where my sons live and have to drive through to go to my development so it is truly only minutes up the road from us....

Other great news is Hobby lobby is coming to the Shopping area next to me!!

The area that was destroyed by the tornado that hit there in 2018 was sold to the owner of the Arena Hub which is on the side of me....

It is reported that construction on a 45,000 square foot building will start in August.....

Hopefully, it will be open for next Christmas Season.....

Of course, this could be very dangerous as my Goal for this year is "Buy Nothing"!!!!

Hmmmmm....

I am a bit late in getting this posted today as I was trying to get the Living Room finished....

Long story, next post....

We will start with the buffer.....

I kept the lighted branch Tree in the Dining Room for Valentine's.....

I left the white snowflakes on the Tree from Christmas and I added Valentine's ornaments that I made...

I made these a few years ago by gluing tags that I ordered on Ebay and embellished them with lace and a few hearts.....

I went with a pink and red color theme here on the buffet.........

The large vintage Valentine is just one of quite a few that I found when cleaning out my neighbor Elly's house for her sons.....

The cupcake dish was bought at The Christmas Tree Shop.....

On top of a cake pedestal.....

The faux cupcakes were bought at Wegman's.........

On the shelf above the buffet.....

The picture is of Joe's Maternal Grandparents........

These vintage Valentine's were also my neighbor Elly's.......

I like that I got the reflection of the chandy in the picture......

I moved the tiered tray in here that I used on the Kitchen desk area for Christmas....

 Faux treats for Valentine's......

A pink depression glass biscuit jar on the left side......

 More vintage Valentine's.....

The small Curio between the buffet and the hutch.....

I forgot to mention my Victorian dolls that I brought back in after Christmas.....

 The shelf above the curio......

 The top of the curio.....

Vintage Valentine's card in a gold paper frames......

I put a few pink hearts inside the curio....

The Hutch......

I kept the red transferware and the ruby red dishes in the hutch after Christmas.....

A few Valentine's hearts.....

The picture is of my paternal grandparents.....

On the divider between the Dining Room and the Living Room.....

I still need to do a bit of embellishing with the Kissing Booth sign from Dollar Tree.....

 A heart that I made.......

I decided to bring this Victorian style feather Tree back in here from the Den for Valentine's.....

I used to display it on the buffet but have not done so for several years...

I topped it off with a simple bow made from pink ribbon with white hearts.......

And I hung pink and gold hearts on it.....

At the base of the Tree....A few cherubs or cupids as I like to think, a mosaic heart and a porcelain rose....

Over in the opposite corner.....

The 7 foot pencil Tree......

I stripped down the Tree after Christmas and added a set of pink rose lights.....

It is decorated in pink and white.....

I topped this Tree off with 2 different types of ribbon......

One with pink roses on it and the other one is a pink shimmery ribbon....

 Let's take a closer look......

 I collected ornaments for years.....

And I even made some....

White baby's breath is tucked into the Tree.....

I kept the handmade Tree skirt that I used for Christmas and bought at a church Flea Market many years ago.....

I placed a heart pillow that I usually hang on the divider in the center of the tree skirt.....

On top of a marble topped plant stand......

A Valentine's heart candy box that I embellished....

I placed it in a vintage milk glass compote bowl.....

A cupid picture frames flanked by 2 pink Valentine's hearts....

" Let's Play" picture....

I hung hearts from the sconces....

On the shelf under the picture.....

2 Valentine's bottles that I bought at The Christmas Tree Shop......

In the corner by the Kitchen.....

 The larger curio.....

On top of the curio.....

Inside the curio.....

On the side of the curio is a marble topped table......

The Funeral Basket that I decorate for each Season and Holiday.....

Pink hearts and pink branches were added to the white branches.....

On the table in front of the funeral basket....

I hung a plaque that I made from the faux window drapery rod........

On the cabinet next to the curio......

 Some hearts.......

A sign recently bought at Dollar Tree.....

The Chandy......

And that completes my tour of the Dining Room decorated for Valentine's.....

  1. Debbie, your Valentine decorations in the dining room look amazing! I especially love how you decorated your pink 7ft slim tree! It looks fabulous! I was curious about the two vintage looking white threads or fabric (?) teapots on the small table. I was waiting to read about them but you didn't mention them or I missed it. I did go back to see if I missed it but couldn't find any description of them. I'm just curious! They really look like expensive antiques!

And - I am getting a little obsessed and a lot jealous of these heat and serve meals! So lucky to have this service where Joe works.

  6. I don't know how you do it, Debbie. Your house is beautiful, but it's so much work! Hobby Lobby, huh? You can do it - I have one around the corner and never go in it!
