Red, White and Blue "Mantel" in the Living Room, 2021

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I have sort of been missing in action this week and will be for the better part of next week as we are dog sitting our Grand Pup Faye.....

She has never been without our son  Jim and his wife Danielle so the first night was a little rough.....

She is now sleeping with me on the sofa downstairs at night as she whimpers and barks if she is put in her crate like she usually is at home up in their bedroom.....

She is adjusting nicely to our house and we are seldom using the 2 gates that they brought us to use

Going outside to do her business is still a work in progress but at least if she has an accident, it is now by the back door on the flooring

She loves playing with some new toys....

And she has claimed the ottoman as her own little elevated bed.....

I think Jim and Danielle will have to buy one for her for their house.....

And it looks like I will be sending this aqua throw home with her too because she loves it!!

I am enjoying having her here but it definitely has clarified something for me....

We will never get another dog for ourselves....

Except for a few walks a day, all care for her has been solely my responsibility just like everything else in my life has always been...

Whether it was care of the yard, the house, repairs, our sons, etc.....

At this stage in my life, I am tired of having to always take care of everything and I realized that I enjoy not having some of those responsibilities

Jim and Danielle are more than welcome to leave Faye here anytime they want

I enjoy going to leave her out and play with her every morning when they are working

But I think all of us sharing in her care is just fine right now and the perfect scenario for our whole family as Jim and Danielle are the ones who have the financial resources to be her owners and primary caretakers.....

All the pictures above were taken with my old camera as the one that I bought less than 2 years ago just broke!!

Will not turn on no matter what

It is as if there is no power to it...

I did call Kodak Customer Service about it and even though the one year warranty that it came with is over and I did not buy additional coverage, they are going to replace the camera!!!!

They sent me a form to fill out and if they deem that there was no damage to the camera like dropping it, etc., they will send me a brand new camera!!

I was shocked by this because as I previously stated, I did not buy an extended warranty.....

I even had my son order a new camera for me using money and gift cards I got for Mother's Day which I had him promptly cancel.....

I will keep you posted on if and when I receive a new camera.....

So because of all of this, I have not posted recently.....

In my last post, I shared my Patriotic Tree in the Living Room.....

Click HERE if you missed that post.....

I did get to take pictures for this post before my camera died......

So today, I will be sharing how I decorated the top of the TV Entertainment Center in the Living Room.....

I have mentioned many times before that I treat the top of the TV Entertainment Center like a "Mantel"...

Last year, I added a Patriotic runner that Joe bought on Clearance.....

And a banner that fellow Blogger Sherry, over at The Journey Back , gifted me!!!

Let's take a closer look......

On the left side.....

A candle holder that I made from a Dollar Tree vase and candlestick.....

I taped a flag to the battery operated candle inside of it.....

The dishes are pieces of Liberty Blue China.....

The Benjamin Franklin Federal Savings bank, established in 1925, commissioned the Enoch Wedgwood Company to make special dinnerware to commemorate their 50 year anniversary. The result was Liberty Blue, made exclusively for the bank between 1975 & 1976.

In the back is an Avon Fostoria cobalt blue George Washington goblet bought for 99 cents at Salvation Army many years ago.....

 George Washington

The Patriotic Carolers were bought at The Christmas Tree Shop

So were the cupcake dishes......

 Liberty Blue bowl

Betsy Ross

A Liberty Blue dinner plate.....

Independence Hall

Thomas Jefferson.....

Another Patriotic Tree in the center....

Decorated with a bow made from Patriotic ribbon......

And red and blue ornaments.....

More Patriotic Carolers from The Christmas Tree Shop

In the center is an Avon cobalt blue Mount Vernon Creamer.......

Mount Vernon

An Avon Betsy Ross cologne decanter.......

The right side....

Another Patriotic cupcake dish....

And one more Patriotic Caroler.....

An Avon Martha Washington Fostoria cobalt blue goblet.......

 Martha Washington

And another Liberty Blue bowl and dinner plate....

I wove a string of battery operated lights through out the display....

I hope you enjoyed seeing this year's Red, White and Blue "Mantel" which will stay like this until after July 4th.....

Not sure when my next post will be because it depends on when I get my new camera ..

But I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

  1. Sounds like Baby Faye is training you just like our grandchildren trained us, LOL. What a cutie. I bet you are exhausted. It is wonderful to take care of our grandbabies but nice when they go home, too. I am so in love with your quilt block banner - really cute! I have the Betsy Ross from Avon. It was the first Avon decanter I ever purchased. In 1976 there was someone who sold Avon at my job and I became a collector. I don't have most of the pieces anymore, but Betsy is special.

  2. I'm amazed Grandpup doesn't convert some of your darling things into her own toys! Do you ever find them hidden? I hope not, for it's such a colorful, happy display!
