I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Fairy Garden Mantel and Hearth, 2021

  Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Today, I will be sharing my Fairy Garden Mantel and Faux Fire Place......

But first I want to share a few pictures of our sweet little Grand Pup Faye...

Unfortunately, Jim and Danielle found 3 ticks on her and could not get the 2 off of her paws so they called the Vet and were able to rush her right over and they removed them.....

She was on tick medication already.....

She had an appointment scheduled with the groomer and they decided to have her shaved down so they could check for ticks after they take her on her walks.....

Instead of a Yorkie, she looks like a Chihuahua!!!

Those ears!!!!

Looks like a smile for her Mimi!!!!!

She looks like a completely different dog....

About a month ago, after I cleaned and reorganized my Craft Room. I also gave the upstairs Sitting Room a good cleaning and changed some things around after I finally took down the Christmas decorations.....

This room is decorated in a Garden theme with the colors of yellow, pink and blue....

For several years now, I have decorated the "Mantel" of my faux Fire Place with Fairy Garden items...

This is what it looked like at Christmas.....

This piece was one of my best transformations...

This is what it looked like before.....

And this is what I transformed it into....

This year, I did add something different to the Fairy Garden on top of the "Mantel"

I added a vintage green Funeral Basket.....

I had used this basket in my Saint Patrick's Day decorations in the Den

The pink Butterflies are clip on ornaments that I added to the Home Interiors gold leaves hanging on the wall......

I kept the battery operated fairy lights on the handle.....

A Fairy Garden House and a Fairy are displayed on top of the basket.....

The basket is displayed on top of a pedestal.....

Also on top of the pedestal is a Fairy House Tea Cup.....

On the left side......

I kept out the Crystal Cake Stands that I used for Christmas here...

Most of the Fairy Garden items are from Big Lot's...

I clipped on yellow Butterflies to the white battery operated Branch Trees......

The embroidered scarf was made by my maternal Grandmother....

I wove a set of battery operated Flower Fairy Lights through out the display.....

 In the middle....

2 lighted House plates are on each side of the pedestal.....

A Fairy sitting, reading on a bench, under an arch.......

On the right side.....

Another Crystal Cake Stand....

This will stay this way until October when I decorate it for Christmas again.....

I also decorated the " Hearth " area......

In keeping with the Garden theme of the room, a Seed Packet Ornament hangs in the center along with a Fairy......

In the "Hearth" area is a large Lantern.....

On top of the Lantern is a Fairy and a Toad Stool......

Pink Butterflies are clipped the the greenery in Thomas Kinkade Pots.....

A set of Dragon Fly lights from Dollar Tree are woven through the greenery.....

2 Garden signs from Dollar Tree hang from the knobs of the side doors.....

A Bird's Nest is inside of the Lantern and Birds and Eggs are on each side of it.....

Teddy Bear Tea and my both sons' Cabbage Patch Dolls......

A mini Tea Set......

Mr. and Mrs. Bear and their dog.....

I hope you enjoyed seeing my Fairy Garden " Mantel " and Garden themed "Hearth"......

In future posts, I will be sharing more of my upstairs Sitting Room.....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  3. Love your Grandpup. We have a few great grandpups and grandpups too. They all love coming to visit us. Two of them I stay clear of unless sitting. Great danes and they will try to stand and put their paws on my shoulder. I am afraid of them knocking me down. Not that steady on my feet with the weight they are.

Wonderful decorations. Love a fairy garden . Keep wanting one outside and have bought a few items to do one just not sure where to do it. I see a few items from home interior. Same ones I have in our home. Sold it many years ago and still use lots of my pictures and sconces from them.

Have a wonderful summer. Stay well and stay safe.

  4. So glad that your sweet Faye doesn't have the ticks now. You're right -- she does have a bit of a chihuahua look but a much cuter face!

  5. Debbie your furniture to mantel transformation is amazing. I never would've guessed that it wasn't always part of the house! It's crazy good!

  6. I don't know if it will help but my father's dog had shaggy hair and was also quite prone to ticks and Lyme disease. My father ended up finding some doggie garlic tabs that he began mixing into Scruffy's food and ever since he hasn't found a tick on him or had to treat for Lyme!

So many cute fairy touches. Thanks for sharing with us. Pinned.

  7. Love your fairy garden and happy decor. Awesome faux fire place and a great idea you had on transforming the piece. Chihuahuas have that little apple shaped head and ears like Faye does. My son had several chihuahuas and she looks similar.
Yes that old tick season is here. We have it sprayed around here because of deer coming into the back yard beyond the fence. Very irritating. That is the only thing about summer I do not like, the mosquitos and ticks although I don't imagine anyone would. Glad everything is good now and the ticks removed.

  9. Faye is just so cute even with her new unplanned haircut. Love, love, love the fairy garden theme! Your creativity amazes every time I visit. And...teddy bears! You just have everything I love right in one place. Absolutely gorgeous! I wish you a beautiful Mother's Day and a great weekend! Oh...also wondering if you have seen Naush lately? I'm hoping maybe she just took some time for herself. She is so creative! Take care!
