Winter at Nelson Crest and Craft Room Update

  Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge it......

Today, I will be sharing my other house, Nelson Crest, all decked out for Winter.....

But first, I want to Thank Niky, over at House on Silverado, for choosing my post, Pink Valentine's in the Dining Room , as one of her features from last week's Sundays on Silverado Link Party!!!!

Thanks, Niky, especially for your very kind words!!!

Please stop by and link up to this charming party!!

I was thrilled to find out that the Amish Farmer that would set up his wares every Friday during the Spring and Summer is now back every Friday at the Valley Mart down the street from us.....

He will be there every week, weather permitting....

He sells fresh butter and eggs, baked goods, poultry, jams and jellies, breads, etc.

Joe came home with these 2 stars made by the Farmer's youngest son.....

I am keeping the small one for myself and since my niece Renae has a bigger home, I am giving the larger one to her.....

He also bought this cute hanger for 3 small pots of flowers.....

Looking forward to being able to use this in the back yard but that will not happen to at least May......

More snow predicted tomorrow and at the end of the week.......

I have been enjoying the soup I made with some home made German noodles bought in Big Lot's of all places!!!!

Over the last 2 weeks, I have been going through all of my craft supplies in my Craft Room and in the Sitting Room closet where I keep all my Christmas crafting supplies.....

Since I used to sell Victorian Style Crafts on Ebay and was a local vendor at craft fairs, I amassed a lot of different supplies from multiple craft genres.....

I seriously needed to take a look at everything I had and decide what to keep, for now, and what to pass on to others who would  put these things to good use....

Luckily, my Face Book friend, Angela, in Ohio makes the most amazing Victorian items using lace and a lot of the things that I had in my stash!!

And she was willing to accept these 3 boxes of craft supplies from me......

The only payment that I requested is that she make one of her beautiful creations for me.....

I was then able to go through and re-arrange my Craft Room and also clean it.....

When I am all done, I will be doing a post on it but here are a few sneak peeks......

I was able to empty out several small tubs and medium sized tubs along with one large tub!!

This was a huge project that I have on my 2-3 Year To Do List when I retired......

I will be thrilled when I finish it!!

After cleaning out the Craft Room, which was truly an eye opening experience, being inspired by my friend Angela's beautiful creations, I was inspired to do a bit of crafting myself......

I actually  re-worked this heart that I made for sale a long time ago......

Removed tan flowers that I had  on it and added a lot more pink flowers and trims and lace and a key!!!!

And I hung it here in the Dining Room........

Since there is a tag on the heart that says "Cup of Kindness"......

I thought it would be perfect to hang above my Thomas Kinakde Ladies having a cup of Tea.....
.

I will be keeping this heart out year round.....

In my last post, I shared how our Living Room looks decorated for Valentine's and the month of February which is American Heart month in a red and gold color theme.......

Click HERE if you missed that post....

For the last post showcasing my Winter/Valentine's decorations, room by room, for this year, today I will be sharing how Nelson Crest looks in the Winter time.....

After Christmas, I removed most of the outside Christmas decorations and all of the inside ones.....

I do not decorate the inside for Winter or Valentine's.....

Garland on the upstairs balcony off the Master bedroom......

The left side yard.....

The front yard.....

Left side of the front yard.....

Front porch.....

Right side of the front yard....

Right side yard......

I left out the battery operated trees that I bought at Dollar Tree.....

I love the way they look in the evening when they change color.....

I hope you enjoyed seeing Nelson Crest decorated for Winter.....

She will stay like this until it is time to decorate her for Easter.....

A HUGE freshening up of Nelson Crest, both inside and out, is also on my 2-3 Year To Do List.....

Not quite sure when I will get to this project because right now, I don't seem to have enough time in a day to do everything I want to do!!

And who asked what will I do when I retire???????

REALLY?????

In my next post, I will be doing my yearly Winter/ Valentine's Tour of our townhouse, both inside and out.....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. I love Nelson Crest and can't wait to see more of it. I have always wanted to decorate a dollhouse and I bought one that I may try to make for my granddoll this year. I don't know how I will work on it without her seeing it. I love the Thomas Kinkade ladies!

  2. Your doll house is so precious. I love the snowmen!

Cleaning and organizing your crafts! Oh gosh, so jealous. This is a big goal of mine, too. Mostly I just pin pictures of perfect craft spaces and organizing on my Pinterest board. It really is a HUGE project and I am in awe that you are working on it. The sneak peeks are great! I can't wait to see all the progress.

  3. If you run Nelson Crest as a hotel, I'll come and stay. It is the sweetest.

  4. My word that is big craft store with so many precious delights. Very generous of you to parcel some of it to your friend who I am sure will put it to good use. Love the heart creation, so very different. Your dolls house is a feast for the eyes, beautiful.

  6. Sounds like you have been very busy getting your craft room all organized. I always enjoy seeing what crafty projects you are up to and your Valentine decor is so pretty. I love the idea of decorating the doll house too. I have always wanted to do that with mine. Thank you for always inspiring. Each visit is a treat.

  7. Kudos, Debbie for working on your craft room. That's pretty much why I don't have many posts this month. It takes SO much time and energy to deal with the 'craft room'. My doll room is about done, but the other room...will never be done. And congrats on letting 'stuff' go...still working on that...Loving Nelson Crest as the winter lopes along and freezes and buries us! Hugs, Sandi from Chicagoland

  9. I went through my craft room supplies piece by piece a few years ago and purged so much stuff (that I also re-gifted to other family and friends) and found it so freeing! Plus I felt like I really knew what I had on hand so I made sure to use more of it and buy less. I loved that I was able to re-organize everything too. Your craft room looks very well organized.

  10. I loved seeing your reorganized craft room; I have good intentions--and that is all! I bought some plastic jars and scrapbook plastic pages to organize some ribbons and stickers this week! The only thing I think I would add to the Nelson Crest is a few cardinals in the birch trees; I always love seeing what you have done. I used to decorate my house when kids were little...now it sits there! Glad you are making inroads into your 2-3 year list.

    1. Kathy,
Thanks so much for stopping by once again!! I am almost finished with the pictures and then I will go on to try to do a bit of scrapbooking as I saved a lot of things from the boys school days!
      Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
      Hugs,
      Deb
