I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Vintage and Victorian Style Valentine's in the Living Room

  Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge it......

Today, I will be sharing the rest of our Living Room decorated in red and gold for Valentine's.....

But first, a bit more pictures from that 3 Day snow  storm in the beginning  of last week.....

I had to quickly take these pictures of when the Sun popped out for about 10 minutes the other day before it set.....

Love the shades of red on the houses across our Court....

And look at the red on the trees in the woods at the end of our Court......

The next morning, the Sun rising in the morning was illuminating the icicles hanging off our back awning.....

Before Joe went out on a mission to knock them down and also remove more snow and ice from the awning and back roof......

The tool of his trade...a hammer to chop ice, a snow broom and goggles......

 Surveying the situation......

All the ice coming down from the roof......

I always amazes me every time he says " This never happened before"...

What he does not realize is that he never saw it when he got home because I had already taken care of it all!!!

That is when I say, quite sarcastically, one of my favorite phrases, which I have said very frequently, since he has retired....

"WELCOME HOME, HONEY!!!"

The ice jams our front gutters on the overhang directly over our front porch and sidewalk so this happens......

I took these on Wednesday evening.....

The water from the icicles drips on to the side walk, the railing and my urns.....

The next morning, we had yet another dusting of snow.....

I do love how pretty Mother Nature made my urns look!!!

My frogs are encased in ice but I kept my sidewalk clean......

Joe put Ice Melt down before we went to let out Grand Pup out for the morning, thinking that would do the trick......

So when we came back, I chipped the ice up and shoveled it off the sidewalk......

This is one of the culprits......

And this is my ice chopper...we have one out front and one in the back and the blade will take a finger off if you are not careful.....

Again, even though we had 27 inches of snow in 2017, Joe said "This never happened before"!!!!!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME????????

Well, yes, it most certainly had, I have the pictures to prove it and Yes, I took care of it all!!!

"WELCOME HOME, HONEY!!"

Geez!

Totally clueless about taking care of this house!!!

On Thursday, I made a pot of soup since we are having perfect weather for it!!!

Okay, that is enough about the snow even though there is a bit more predicted Sunday and a possible Coastal storm predicted next Thursday......

This is finally the type of Winter that I remember as a child when there was always snow on the ground!!!!

On Friday, I made up my mind about my healthcare after registering on the Pennie Insurance Site for Pennsylvania since my Cobra is over the end of this  month.....

For the first time in my entire life, because we are retired and Joe is not working part time right now, I qualified for a tax credit on my insurance through the Affordable Care Act!!!!

I have never qualified for any  financial assistance of any kind before!!!

That took several hundred dollars off my monthly healthcare rate!!!

I will be paying several hundred dollars less a month than I was on Cobra even though I do have a comparable plan to my employer's one..

I will be paying a bit more for certain services but I still will have a very low deductible so I am satisfied.....

Can not wait until I will be 65 in 2 years when my monthly healthcare costs will drop drastically with Medicare and a supplement.......

But I did prepare for all of this with a financial planner so no worries!!!

Now on to the rest of my Living Room all decked out for Valentine's and the month of February which is American Heart month......
