Winter Front Porch and Yard, 2021

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge it......

There is a LOT I can say about the disgusting and frightening events of this past week here in the USA.......

BUT....

I will not lower myself to the level of many people in this Country.........

What I will say is that I have never been so ashamed of what a Disgrace this Country has become in the past few years......

As an Independent, I blame BOTH Political Parties for allowing this happen.......

Enough said.....

Today, I will be sharing how I changed over our Front Porch and Yard from Christmas to Winter.....

But first, I want to thank to Barb, over at French Ethereal, for choosing my post, Christmas at Nelson Crest, as one of her features from last week's Share Your Style Link Party!!!

 Thanks so much, Barb!!

I also want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for choosing my post , How 20 Years of Chronic Health Issues Helped Me Through the Pandemic, as one of her features from this week's Thursday Favorite Things Linky Party!!!

 Thanks again, Bev!!

Please stop by and link up to these parties!!!

In my last post, I shared that I re-worked 2 wreaths for Winter and a few Snow pictures ........

Click HERE if you missed that post......

This is what our Front Porch looked like all decked out for Christmas.....

Click HERE if you would like to see that post.....

This is what the Front Porch looks like now and how it will look for the remainder of the Winter....

Several years ago, I smartened up and changed some of my Christmas decorations so that they can be left out for the entire Winter.......

Like the majority of the bows and the snowflakes on the garland......

Most of the things that I hang on my "Weeping Mortar" can also be left out after Christmas.....

The greenery that Joe cut from the side of our road and woods are holding up well and should make it through the rest of the Winter until March.....

Changed the red velvet bow out on the lighthouse I made and added a Winter slate.....

Also changed out the red velvet bow here for a bow I made out of ribbon from one of the wreaths that I re-worked.....

This was how the front door area looked at Christmas........

This is what it looks like now.....

I hung the newly re-worked Winter Wreath on the front door and a Winter slate to the left side of it......

Yes, that is an ice melt container by the front door that I forgot to move out of the way but the reality is that we live in the Northeast and have had a lot of snow and ice lately.......

For my Winter decorations outside, I have used a lot of Red Cardinal items.....

Red Cardinals are on the ribbon, worked into the wreath and on the "Let It Sow" sign

I removed and replaced some of the Christmas items.....

Once again, sorry about all the shovels, ice picks and car broom but it is the reality of living in NEPA!!!

I also changed out the green CFL light bulb for a red one for Valentine's Day......

And I changed the bow hanging from the light fixture....

I took down the wood Christmas sleigh that my son Jim made for me in Cub Scouts and replaced it with a Winter Slate.....

After packing away the wooden deer planter that my son Joey made in Cub Scouts, I moved the Snow man sign over by the front door......

I leave my childhood sled out all Winter......

The Snow sign was moved and hung above the Snow Man......

And I hung the other Winter wreath that I re-worked in place of a Christmas sign under the flag pole.....

Changed out the bow for a new one that I made on the tree in the corner of the front porch which is on the porch year round....

And more Winter slates were hung on the post.....

When the winds aren't whipping the flag around, I changed out my Christmas flag for a Winter one......

Changed out the bow in the center of the railing for a new bow I made.....

 And added another Winter slate......

I am leaving the wreaths on the windows for the Winter along with the candles that are set to come on by sensor and timers.......

 The front flower bed.......

Winter mini flags...

 With Red Cardinals on them.....

 From the front porch.....

Flower bed at the top of our slope.....

Changed out the red velvet bow and added a cute snowman slate to my faux mail box..

 My Park Bench.....

Simply changed the bows....

With no snow......

Removed the bows from the garland around the deer......

Winter mini flag with Cardinals.....

And this is how it looks when the lights come on at dusk.....

After I took the pictures, I realized that I forgot to put on the red porch light......

 The front flower bed......

Looking out from the front porch.....

As I mentioned, the front of the house will be staying like this until the middle of March as some of our best blizzards and snow  storms have come in March......

I hoped you enjoyed seeing how easy it can be to keep out some Christmas decorations and add just a few Winter things to brighten the outside of your home during the Winter.....

I have been very busy inside the house too, changing over from Christmas to Winter and Valentine's....

I have already completed the Powder Room.....

And I just finished the Den yesterday.......

I decided to keep up all of the Trees downstairs and re-decorate them for Winter/Valentine's.....

In my next post, I will be sharing my Winter Trees in the Den......

I have LOTS to share as I have been very busy!!!

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  1. Your porch looks so pretty. I could have sworn my Christmas decorations would come down today. Due to a series of events starting with a dentist appointment that ended up in the emergency room, we have had a toddler and baby with us for over 48 hours. They have now returned home, but gramma and grampa are so tired, we have put it off for tomorrow (hopefully)

  2. Everything looks beautiful!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for providing us with a peaceful, creative, lovely, quiet blog to counterbalance the craziness that went on in DC this week...I tell ya - after that day I was so stressed...hubs told me to “read that blog you enjoy so much...that makes you happy”...so at the first opportunity I got, I did!

Your decor brings back so many childhood memories! I enjoy reading it so much!

    Stay safe, warm, and healthy!

    xoxo,
    Nina

    1. Nina,
Words can not thank you enough for your very sweet words.....
It is because of people like you that I continue to post on my blog even though at times it is very labor intensive and I do often wonder if anyone is actually reading what I write and interested in what I have to share.... Then I get a comment or an email from someone like yourself and I am once again amazed that my blog could mean so much to someone else....Thanks so much of r making my day and restoring my faith in continuing to blog....I truly appreciate it!! Stay safe, Healthy and happy, my friend!!
      Hugs,
