I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Word of the Month for July, Celebrate

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I hope you all had a wonderful July 4th weekend and CELEBRATED America's Birthday in some way!!!
We started off the weekend with being treated on Friday to dinner by our son, Joey, from Buffalo Wild Wings  which is located 5 minutes from our house....

Joey loves his chicken and got quite a bit of it!!!
Joe got the All American Burger....
And I got the Cheese Curd Bacon Burger which was absolutely outstanding!!!!
For a place that mostly serves chicken, they sure do make a mean burger.....

And the funny thing is that I NEVER ever got burgers from places like Burger King, MacDonald's or Wendy's....

I usually got fish or chicken!!

We had our traditional "Cook In" with our family of 5 just like we always do on Sunday as that worked out better for Jim and Danielle, being that Jim had just come off an 8 day stretch at work.....

We had cheeseburgers, hot dogs, macaroni salad, corn on the cob, watermelon and ice cream!!

We are in a heat wave which for our area is above 90 degree temps. for more than 3 days.....
This is supposed to last until next weekend with the humidity and dew points going up to what they call the Tropical level!!!!

I want to know when did NEPA become Tropical!!!!!

I do NOT do well physically in the heat of the Summer so I am not happy about this .....

Today, I will be sharing my Word Of the Month for July!!!
But first,  I want to Thank, Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for choosing my post, Summer Kitchen, Part 1, as one of her features from last week's Happiness is Homemade Linky Party!!!

 Thanks again, Bev!!

Please stop by and link up to this charming party!!!

I can not believe that it is July already!!

For me, this year is flying by!!!

Once again, as I did in June, I hope to be able to do these things and be Blessed in July.....
POSITIVITY is what I chose as my Theme for this Year......
Little did I know how important it would be to remain POSITIVE this Year!!!!

I am choosing to maintain this theme by only posting positive things here on my Blog and also on my face book page.....
I choose to post Positivity on this Blog and especially out there on social media like face book, over all the Political Rants, Mask Pro and Cons Rants, Naming Calling and Making Fun of Political Leaders no matter what Political Party they belong to, sharing of Fake News without checking the actual facts before posting and bashing of Businesses even though those businesses may be barely surviving!!!

I choose to take the higher road, rising above all that nonsense and frankly, childishness, and not feed into and spread the anger and hate!!

I have had enough......

I am CHOOSING to scroll through and not read any of these posts.....

 I choose POSITIVITY!!
In June, I chose ENJOY as my Word of the Month......

And I must say, that I truly did ENJOY myself in June!!!

I did ENJOY sitting out on both the front porch........
 And back Patio......
I thoroughly ENJOYED the time I spent in our back yard Cottage Garden...........
Watching the birds........
And other critters in our yard.....
I did ENJOY many a Sunset from our front porch....
I ENJOYED doing some Paint Projects.....
I ENJOYED finally getting a new outdoor carpeting for the patio and putting it down, creating a new look for the Patio....
 I ENJOYED doing some Crafting......
I ENJOYED Family Get Togethers like on Father's Day with our family of 5......

Joe, sporting his new hair cut.....
I ENJOYED spending some time with our Niece Renae and our Great Nieces Cortney, Caitlin and Carly.......
And getting to see Cortney graduate High School, even if it was televised on TV.....

So all in all, June was a fairly ENJOYABLE Month for me!!!

So what Word am I choosing for the Month of July???????

CELEBRATE!!!!!!!

What exactly is the definition of CELEBRATE????

"acknowledge (a significant or happy day or event) with a social gathering or enjoyable activity."

"to mark (something, such as an anniversary) by festivities or other deviation from routine"

 "Acknowledge" and "mark"......

Even though there are all kinds for crazy things going on right now, I think that we need to look at our Lives and "acknowledge" and "mark" things or events that we need to "CELEBRATE" and be Happy about and ENJOY !!!!

Because whether you believe it or not........

THERE IS MUCH TO CELEBRATE!!!!

Just the fact that you wake up in the morning and get to have one more day with your loved ones is cause to CELEBRATE!!!!!!
 Don't you think?????

After all......
I pray thanking God every day for the good health of my family.....

Pennsylvania is now in what is called the "Green Phase" which is currently the highest level of Reopening for the State.....

Even though, I still have no desire to go out and that is just my personality as it really has NOTHING to do with this health crisis.....

I am perfectly happy at home and very busy too!!

Already in July, We did CELEBRATE the 4th of July with our family!!!
And this coming weekend, we will be CELEBRATING our Great Niece Cortney's Graduation with a Graduation party to be held at our niece Renae's home......

I am making 2 pans of lasagna......

So we are really looking forward to that and to seeing some friends and family that we have not seen in a while, all while practicing social distancing and mask wearing....

When looking for graphics for this post, I came across this one which I particularly liked......
Some Great sayings!!!

"I'll look back on this and smile because it was life and I decided to Live It!!!"

"Believe you can and you are half way there"

"It's not about whether your cup is half full or half empty, It's about WHAT is in your cup!!"

"Look in the mirror and Smile every time"!!

Aren't they great??????

I also hope to be CELEBRATING a new hair style in a week from now......

I only trimmed my hair myself twice since my last hair cut on March 8th and this is how it looks now....
I have not had this much hair and almost all one length in many years!!!!

I was lucky that coloring my hair was not an issue as I went natural over 6 years ago....

Now it is long enough that I am thinking of CELEBRATING with a new style.....

People on face book liked this one the best.....
This is similar to what I had before......
My hair is poker straight so forget any type of curl to it....

These are the ones that I like.......
Notice they are all a bit similar and not as tapered.......

I need a bit of poof on top because my face is round and fat.....

And if I don't like it, I can always have it cut again!!

I have never been picky about my hair though...

Hopefully, There will be lots more to CELEBRATE in July......

As I always say......
Life is what you make of it.....

I will keep you posted......

I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. Good luck on the haircut! I think all the styles are fabulous. We have these horrible temperatures too, even in Northern Ohio along the lake. So steamy!!! Ohio has a new color scheme per each county. Unfortunately our county had 3 big outbreaks at different facilities and are one of the sixth worst counties in Ohio now - RED. It is not hard for us to stay home, but it is keeping me busy trying to keep my grandchildren busy during the day. It is much too hot for them to go outdoors after about 10 am and we can't go anywhere with air conditioning except my living room. . .

  2. So nice to see the birds and other visitors to your garden. Love the word for the month. I enjoyed looking at your choice of haircut styles, I must admit I am so looking forward to when I can get mine cut. Those burgers looked delicious, what a great treat. Take care and stay safe.

  5. Your front porch is so pretty and what a great place to sit outside when it is not soooooo hot. I love seeing all of your garden areas. Just so pretty. Summer is going way too fast. Glad you had a great 4th. xoxo

  7. Wow! Those are some pretty high temps! I think I can honestly say I only ever once had a McDonald's burger and ordered chicken from then on. I rarely eat fast food anyway but when I do it's usually salad, chicken, or Wendy's baked potatoes. You sure had a joyful month and we are celebrating my birthday this month as well as the 4th of July!

  8. Celebrate is such a happy word, isn't it? It's a wonderful word for the month. And you have much to celebrate!

  9. It is crazy HOT here too. I have hair down past my shoulders, and in the summer it is up in a bun most of the time, that way nothing is on my neck, I am sure any of those cuts would work great for you.

  10. Love all of the pictures. Especially those food ones. Making me mighty hungry! LOL! I think Joe's new cut and style looks very nice on him. Love the word Celebrate! We should celebrate life daily as best as we can for sure. It is humid here. We will get a good rain and then it's so muggy and humid! I hope you have a great week and so glad you stopped by to visit. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  11. Debbie, I thoroughly enjoyed your post! Attitude has everything to do with what we get out of life. I am so glad you are enjoying your life in spite of all your health issues. It is so important to smile at adversity and yes, to be thankful we have been given another day to spend with our loved ones. It sounds like you and your family had a great feast over the weekend. I'm glad your family lives near you. Wish mine did. I have three boys and two of them live far away. All those hair styles are really cute. I'm sure you will choose what it right for you. Hugs to you...Sandi
