I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Summer Kitchen, Part 2, 2020

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

In a previous post, I shared Part 1 of my Kitchen decorated for Summer......
Click HERE if you missed that post......

This is the only time of year that the Kitchen is not decorated for any Holidays.......

So it is pretty "normal", whatever that may be, right now.....

I will change some things around during the Summer but not too much....

But first, I want to share the amazing food that we got for Take Out on Friday for dinner.......

Well, actually that our son, Joey, treated us to.....

Mission BBQ was only open for around 2 months when restaurants were ordered to only do Take Out here in NEPA.....

We had ordered from them before and really enjoyed their food but we were supporting local owned businesses during the Stay at Home phase ( notice I do not say Quarantine because no one is in Quarantine unless they were directly exposed to someone who tested positive as per the CDC) to do our little part in trying to keep them afloat during this time.....

Now that our County is in the Green Phase which means the least restrictions in place right now in Pa., we decided to order from there again!!

This was Joey's chicken sandwich with Alabama white sauce that he put on it....
The fries came with the sandwiches......
This is my turkey sandwich which had so much meat on it that I gave both Joe and Joey a slice of turkey to eat!!!
And this was Joe's pulled pork sandwich that he already took a bite out of......
Joey had to get a quart of their Mac and Cheese which is to die for......

And they give you several containers of their different sauces to try which ones you like....
Everything was so good!!

Mission BBQ has donated food and money to local Police, Fire departments, hospitals and to many Veteran's organizations including the local VA hospital which is right up the rode from their location here......

Now back to my Kitchen.....

This wall is the area that gets decorated the most for different Holidays.....
I consider this the focal wall in the Kitchen.....
I have decorated the Kitchen with a lot of vintage and vintage styled Kitchen ware......
My Dad made these red shelves for me out of scrap wood that he had about 40 years ago.......
Most of the items in the Kitchen were bought at yard sales, estate sales and flea markets.....
This phone was my neighbor Elly's......
And if I had a land line hooked up, it would actually work!!!
Hanging on a hook to the side of the shelf, is a vintage sifter.....
A vintage apron.....
This also was my neighbor Elly's.....
Since September of last year, there was a Tree here in the corner that I decorated for Fall/Halloween, Christmas, Winter and then Easter......
I packed the Tree up and hauled it up the attic and brought back down this yellow mlk can that I bought at a church flea market......
A chalkboard hangs on the wall next to the milk can.....
Last year, I painted these milk bottles from a local Dairy.....
A floral arrangment that I made along with LED lighted branches fills the milk can.......
I made this hutch by marrying a book case from a bedroom set with a desk.....
The bookcase was  $5.00 at a church flea market and the desk was $10 at a yard sale that I went to 2 weeks after buying the book case.......
The top of the hutch....
The Kitchen is decorated in a color theme of red, yellow and green.....
The first shelf......
The second shelf.....
On the side of the hutch.....
The desk area of the hutch........
Since strawberries are in Season now, I set up a tea vignette featuring strawberries......
An old Home Interiors strawberry candle ring....
Battery operated strawberry scented candles were placed inside of the tea cups.....
The strawberry tea pot and the 2 tea and toast plates and tea cups were bought at The Christmas Tree Shop.....
A vintage strawberry tray.....
The tea pot sets on top of a tin of strawberry preserves....
Faux desserts.....
Even a faux cherry pie...did not have a strawberry one...
The milk glass hurricane lamp sits inside of a vintage yellow fiestaware bowl......
Underneath the desk.....
A vintage yellow fiestaware platter rests on top of a metal plaid picnic basket.....
A vintage Mason jar and a copper lantern..........
More Mason jars inside of a vintage wooden cheese box.....
On the right side of the wall....
The other shelf that my Dad made.......
An old Home Interiors shelf hangs above the door way to the Den.....
Vintage hens, roosters and vasoline glass goblets....
I bought the metal tray in the middle at Salvation Army for $1.99......
Another vintage sifter.....
A vintage apron, broom and pot holder....
Our Niece and Great Nieces gifted Joe these Pittsburgh Steeler knives and pizza cutter for Christmas
On a vintage style hook, hangs a rug beater and an enamelware sign.....
I painted this bread board in a grain sack style....
This wall will pretty much stay this way until the Fall but I may switch some things on the desk area around as the Summer progresses......
I do like my ambient lighting in the evening....
In a future post, I will be sharing Part 3 on my Summer Kitchen Tour, the counter bar area....
In my last post, I shared some Patriotic crafts I made......
Click HERE if you missed that post....

And in my next post, I will be sharing a bit more crafting that I did and what I made using these things that I have no idea what they are......
Along with a craft using toilet paper and paper towel rolls.....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!
