On a Personal Note, not much new.....
I made Stuffed Peppers from peppers I bought at the Amish Farmer's Market at the conveince store....
Before going into the oven......
I forgot to take a picture after taking them out of the oven but one was left over.......
And I also made zucchini bread from the zucchini bought from the Amish Farmer.....
This is one of 3 loaves that I made......
In a previous post, I shared what I thought was a frog in my back yard Cottage Garden.....
One morning, when I opened up the back door after putting the coffee on, there he was on the Patio!!!
My son, Joey, was intrigued so he did a bit of research and it turns out that my friend is not a frog but rather a toad.....
In fact, he is a Garden Toad who helps the Garden by eating insects, slugs and all kinds of things!!!
Click HERE to read about Garden Toads if you are interested!!
So he is quite welcome in my garden......
In a previous post, I shared that I made these Angel ornaments.....
And these from cards......
For my Patriotic Tree......
In 2018 when a Tornado touched down not far from our home and destroyed most of the shopping district located right by our townhouse development, a furniture and decor store held a damage sale.....
When they finally were going to tear down the buildings, they let everything go for FREE!!!
Joe, of course, had to check it out and brought home 4 of these.......
I have no idea what they are.......
There is a hole in the top.......Maybe a leg to something....
Initially, I envisioned Snow Men until I started thinking about making a Patriotic Angel and began to look through my stash......
I decided to use one to make my angel so I painted it red and blue......
I used tape to pull off some of the red paint, exposing the gold paint underneath....
I found I had 4 angel heads with gold halos......
So this is what I came up with........
I glued white angel wings that are actually ornaments to the "body' of the Angel.........
I enhanced the wings by adding a piece of blue deco mesh ribbon and red ribbon roses....
And made a bow out of trim, adding red ribbon roses to the ends........
I glued a piece of Patriotic ribbon to the "body" of the angel....
Since Joe donates to every Veteran's group that I think there is, he receives all kinds of Freebies in the mail......
A Veteran's group sent what was a Star that was removed from a flag before it was burned and a piece of paper explaining such....
This is the Star.......
And I glued the paper on with a spray adhesive......
And there you have it.....
My Patriotic Angel......
Made from whatever this might have been.......
I also made some Fire Crackers......
Made out of paper towel rolls and toilet paper rolls.......
I covered them with flag fabric.....
Gluing them together.......
Finishing them off with trim......
And making the tops out of wired ribbon....
And this is where I decided to use them......
On the stairs......
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

WOW - I love that you saw the gold "watchamacallit" and saw that beautiful angel! So creative. She is just precious.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a patriotic angel before, that was very clever of you to make one! Congratulations on all those features you earned!
ReplyDeleteGreat makes. I loved the idea of using the star from an old flag that was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHi Deb. What a clever gal you are. That is the cutest angel, much cuter than probably what it was intended for in the first place. Love the star and it's message. Have a wonderful 4th even though it will probably be much quieter than usual..Stay well..xxoJudy P.S. Those peppers look delicious. One of my most favorite foods.
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented. Love your 4th of July decorations.
