I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Patriotic Decor in the Den

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Today, I will be sharing how I decorated underneath and around the China Cupboard in the Den for the Summer using some Patriotic decor.....

But first, I want to Thank Karren, over at Oh My Heartsie Girl, for featuring my post, Memorial Day Front Porch, from last week's Wonderful Wednesdays Linky Party!!
 Thanks so much, Karren!!

And I also want to Thank Katie, over at Let's Add Sprinkles, for featuring the same post, Memorial Day Front Porch, specifically for my tip on how to elevate Solar Lights, from last week's Keep in Touch Party!!
Thanks again, Katie!!

Please take some time to stop by and link up to these lovely parties....

My Personal Updates......

I have been really busy working in the garden and on our Patio......

I will be sharing some Patio and Garden projects soon.......

My son, Joey, has taken upon himself to upgrade my lap top and in doing so, he said I should be good for another 5-6 years with the one that I have!!

It is great to have my own personal IT Specialist!!

Otherwise, I have been keeping very busy as usual and I am looking forward to sharing those projects with you in my next post......

In my last post, I shared how I decorated the China Cupboard in the Den for the Summer....
And how I added a few Patriotic decorations to what I already had......
Click HERE if you missed it.....

The color theme in the Den is blue, burgundy and ivory so adding Patriotic decor in the Summer makes it rather easy.....
The red and blue transferware dishes work so well in this room.......
I use 2 vintage suitcases underneath the China Cupboard as a base for displays.......
The larger one was actually my Mother's, which was filled with photos, and I bought the smaller one at a yard sale for $1.00!!!
There is a small table that I refinished to match the China Cupboard on the one side.....
On top of it is a birdcage with a Patriotic bow on top of it.......
A floral ring with burgundy roses, that matches the ones on the bird cage, surrounds the bottom of the cage.......
I added a sweet little card with blue and white dishes on it......
I wove a set of battery operated  Fairy Lights through out the whole display.....
On a little chair, sits a sweet Patriotic Bear that was my neighbor Elly's, who collected Bears.......
Don't you just love the stars on his paws????
The flags I used in this display were also Elly's as she had tea dyed them to add an antiqued look to them.....
On the top suitcase......
I bought 2 of these Patriotic Beach Cottages in Pier One several years ago on Clearance...........
They were the perfect colors for the Den and I love the stars on the blue bottle brush trees.....
This Cottage is striped......
I also like the sea shells around the bases.....
The 2 Patriotic bottle brush trees were also bought at Pier One......
A red transferware tea cup and saucer.....
And I just had to put out this adorable Uncle Sam Santa.....
He is a Santa on vacation for the Summer!!!

 The bottom suitcase......
I bought this sign "Live Each Day Like the Gift it Is" shortly after being diagnosed with cancer over 12 years ago........

The saying also continues with  "That is why it is called the Present"

It has  remained my "motto" ever since....
 Blue transferware......
This saucer is part of the Liberty Blue Collection.......
I bought this "Let Freedom Ring" wooden sign last year in Gabes on Clearance for $1.00!!!
On the right side on a pedestal.......
Is the second Patriotic Beach Cottage....
This one is a solid color but has a striped awning......
And burgundy colored bottle brush trees with stars.....
Underneath the pedestal.....
Transferware tea cups and a mini tea cup ornament.....
On the side of the China Cupboard......
More Patriotic decor.......
Another cute Bear sitting in a wagon.....
Next to the wagon is a floral arrangement in a blue speckled vintage enamelware pot......
The pot and flags were my neighbor Elly's....
This vintage pot has a handle on it....
In the corner sitting on a crock.......
Is a darling Patriotic Girl that I bought at a church Flea Market a few years ago......
I embellished her with some ribbon roses and trims.......

She is sitting on top of a blue transferware dinner plate placed on top of the crock......
I hoped you enjoyed seeing how I decorated the China Cupboard and the area underneath and around it for the Summer.....
At the end of the Summer, I will remove the Patriotic decor and it will stay like this until I decorate the Den for Christmas.......
In a future post, I will be sharing how Nelson Crest, my Victorian Doll House, looks all decked out for the Summer in her Patriotic finery.......
But in my next post, I will be revealing what word I chose for My Word of the Month for June......

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

  9. I love all your transferware. One set of my "good dishes" is Royal Mail in blue and white and I have a friend who has the Liberty Blue. Last year I put my oddball collection of b&W dishes (souvenir plates, Blue Willow, etc.) up over my kitchen cabinets; I love looking at them every day. My vintage booth has more patriotic decor than my house does. I got up first this a.m. and made 2 more patriotic garlands as a "quiet" job while Al slept in! Glue gun doesn't make any noise!
