I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Patriotic Doll House

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Today, I will be sharing the last of my Patriotic decorations for the Summer......

Nelson Crest all decked out in her Patriotic finery.....

But first, Thanks to Barb, over at French Ethereal, for choosing my post, Memorial Day Front Porch, as one of her features from the Share Your Style Linky Party from 2 weeks ago..
Thanks so much, Barb!!

Please stop by and link up to this charming party!!

In a previous post, I shared some Patriotic decorations in the Den.....
How I decorated the China Cupboard.....
Click HERE if you missed that post......

And also how I decorated beneath and around the China Cupboard....
And click HERE if you missed this post......

Even though Joe has strict orders NOT to buy anything on Clearance, He just can not help himself.....

He came home with these from Wegman's.....
 2 reversible Patriotic place mats.....
 And a reversible matching runner........
I guess I will have to do a Patriotic tablescape or two!!
How that man loves to shop and spend money!!!!
Nelson Crest sits on a round table that I bought for $5.00 when a local hotel was being torn down and they were selling off furniture!!
This Victorian Doll House is on a turn table so it can be spun around to see the back......

It is quite the "Painted Pink Lady", isn't it?
Hanging on the wall, is a basket that was my neighbor Elly's that I filled with florals and tucked 2 flags in it for the Summer Holidays.....
Underneath the basket, next to the Doll House, is a vintage styled ash tray table......
I placed a bird cage on top in a galvanized tray.....
And on the shelves underneath......
A blue transferware bowl.....
And a bird's nest and candle.......
I enjoy decorating Nelson Crest for the various Holidays....
She will stay decorated like this until the Fall, unless I find the time to start doing some projects that I want to do to freshen her up a bit as she is already 12 years old...........
Her paint is starting to fade a bit and I am thinking of adding a 3rd color in places but that will be a secret until I can start the project.....

I only change the inside for the Christmas Holiday so I will only be sharing the outside today.....
The left side yard.......
Flowering bushes add some pretty colors......
And even a rock garden...
Moving around to the front a bit......
An angel statue resting on a bench......
Many years ago, I made Patriotic banners using red, white and blue striped crepe paper that I folded into a fan.......
I glued star stickers to the center of each banner.......
On the balcony off the Master Bedroom......
A Patriotic Wreath that I made hangs on the door.....
I used stars and mini firecrackers.....
Also on the railing are flags used for topping off cupcakes......

Victorians celebrated the 4th of July with great enthusiasm, decorating the outside of their homes with banners and flags.....
The front yard......
On this side......
A flower pot and angel statue.....
A wheel barrow filled with flowers.....
The front porch.......
Flags and fire crackers decorate the railing......
Milk and eggs were just delivered by the milk man.....
Flower pots on the front porch....
Topiaries and flower pots lined the steps......
Urns filled with flowers on each side of the sidewalk......
A flag proudly displayed on the flag pole in the front yard....
On this side.........
A statue, flower pot, topiary and a Welcome rock......
Around to the side yard.....
I bought this fountain a few months back......
On Clearance in Michael's......
More flowering bushes.....
I also bought this cute pond on Clearance too!!
I hope you enjoyed seeing Nelson Crest, all decked out to celebrate the Summer Patrioitc Holidays!!!

The Den will stay decorated like this until the Fall......
In the future, I will be sharing how the Kitchen is decorated for the Summer......
Including paying homage to Strawberry Time!!
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

  2. The outside of my doll house needs some serious help, so I have it facing a wall. I will have to remember the bunting idea for someday when we get her all fixed up again.

    1. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and to leave such a nice comment! We rent a storage shed for all the outdoor decorations and Seasonal thing like garden things and front porch furniture. We do not have a basement but our attic is floored and almost all of the holiday things are stored up there...By room for Christmas and then by Holiday for the rest...
      stay safe, healthy and happy!!

      Debbie

  8. I always love seeing Nelson Crest all dressed up for holidays. I made some Valentine "Jellos" from red plastic heart table scatter on gold filigree hearts (GW new earrings) with a nurdle of white fabric paint and a red "berry" on top. Also fringed some rugs from a remnant. It's often just as easy to make a bunch as it is one; I have them in my vintage/antique/ craft booth. I price them reasonably so kids and seniors can afford them! Some of us are still little girls in old bodies!
