I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

As I said in my last post, last year, I did 3 posts on my Living Room Valentine's decorations.

This year, I am doing it in 2 posts so grab a cup of tea or coffee and pull up a chair and make yourself comfortable as this is going to be a long post LOADED with pictures........again!!!!

Before I continue, I want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, Marilyn, over at Marilyn's Treats and Gwin, over at Gwin's Gal Inside and Out, the hosts of the Over the Moon Party, for featuring my post, Winter Front Porch and Yard, as the Most Clicked on from last week's party!!!
Thanks so much, Bev, Marilyn and Gwin for the honor!!!

I also want to Thank Katie, over at Let's Add Sprinkles, for featuring my post, Feeling a Bit Disenchanted with Blogging, from last week's Keep In Touch Party!!
Thanks so much, Katie!!!

Much to my surprise, comments are still coming in on this post about blogging and how it has changed!!

If you missed my post, Feeling a Bit Disenchanted with Blogging. please click HERE!!

And please feel free to comment on what you think about blogging and how it has changed!!

I plan on doing a Follow Up post summing up the general feeling of some of the comments!!

In my first post about my Valentine's decorations in the Living Room, I shared my 2 red and gold Valentine's Trees in the Living Room.......
Click HERE if you missed it.....

In this post, I will be sharing the rest of my red and gold Valentine's decor in the Living Room.......

Let's start at the front door.......

To the left of the door is this marble topped stand.....
The large hurricane candle holder is filled with red and gold ornaments on the bottom and a battery operated candle......
One of the heart boxes that I embellished sits in front of it.......

A piece of red rose garland that I cut is wrapped around the base of an apothecary jar with a gold glittered battery candle.......
Gold hearts were hung on the stand.......

The front door has a heart plaque that I made hanging from the curtain rod......
An angel ornament that was gifted to me by a friend and former co-worker also hangs there.....
To the left is the hutch........
I simply added red velvet roses to the shelves on each side of the hutch.....
I added a few Valentine's touches to the hutch......
On top of the hutch.......
I moved the gold LED battery operated branch Trees over from the top of the TV Entertainment Center where they were used for Christmas......
I also left the gold mercury candle holders where they were but added new battery operated flicker flame candles .......
A red mercury glass votive, a cute little girl figurine , gold and red rose ornaments and a vintage styles paper ornament.......

In the center......
I added gold roses to another piece of red rose garland and also tucked 2 gold branches into it.....
A Valentine's "Love" sign and white ball like battery operated lights at a bit more "Glow" .......
A Valentine's Angel.......
The right side......
Only thing different on this side is a cute little boy figurine.......

It is so hard to get pictures of the top of this hutch but I must say, these came out better than they usually do.......
Maybe because I have the lights on the garland above the antique mirror turned off........
I added red rose ornaments and a few other red touches to the inside of the hutch.....
Over in the corner by the stairs.......
This is what you see when you walk in the front door.......
Hanging on the wall......
Is a wreath and heart plaque that I made.......
A string of 3 red hearts hang to the side of the wreath.......
 On the steps.......
I bought this at Michael's on Clearance for 90% off one year.......
These are the lanterns I bought in the Summer when the local Sears store closed......
I tied bows made from a rich velvet cloth ribbon to the top and placed a few red and gold small ornaments inside of them along with a gold glittered battery operated candle.......
I love these lanterns especially since I paid $4.00 each for them when they were originally $24.99........

In front of the stairs.......
This is a chair that when I first bought it at a local flea market, it had no seat and was covered with faded burgundy fabric!!!

I had Joe take it to a local fabric and upholstery business, Edelstein's, that had the nickname of "The Junk Yard"!!!!

This was an amazing place which was located in an old warehouse that was stacked to the ceiling with fabric of all kinds and everything having to do with sewing, upholstery and so much more.........
They made a new seat and upholstered the chair in a fabric that Joe picked out (YES, he picked out the fabric to match our Living Room furniture) for a mere $125!!!

They even tufted the back of the chair!!!!!

Sadly, the owner retired, sold the place to a Liquidation firm, who did not even have a Liquidation Sale, much to my dismay!!!!

Anyway, I love to use this chair as a display piece........
This is my Valentine's display......
2 Valentine's candy boxes that I embellished........
Gold roses......
A gold mercury glass votive and a red rose ornament.....
And another heart shaped box........

Underneath the chair is another candy box that I filled with red velvet roses......
And another large lantern that I also bought at Sears on Clearance, that I filled with a red vase filled with red velvet roses and red hearts........
I placed it on a red charger and of course, added a set of lights........
Next to the chair......
Is the LED branch Tree that I love to decorate........
For Valentine's, I decorated it with red and gold ornaments including a few hearts......
For Christmas, this Tree was moved out to the Den where I placed it inside of a little red wagon!!
I moved it back here where the tree stays year round with the the little red wagon!!!!

Which I added another piece of the red rose garland to along with a few gold roses.......
A vintage style heart box sits in front of the Tree.......
Across from the stairs, is my vintage style stereo on an antique table..............
I added a few Valentine's touches to all the tables in the Living Room........
Vintage style Valentine's cards.......
The large round table in the corner by the Dining Room.......
In the Fall, I changed my linens in the Living Room to a gold chenille.......
I will keep these out until I decorate for Easter......
 Lots of roses.......
 Heart boxes.......
Sorry for the poor photo but this is a music box.......
In my previous post, I shared this area in the Living Room.......
The faux window.......
I left out the red velour throws and gold pillows after Christmas also.....
The cherub shelves on each side of the faux window......
And my Valentine's Tree in the corner......
Moving around the room.....

A 3 tier vintage table.......
Another embellished candy box......
And I also shared the top of the TV Entertainment Center in my previous post.......
And another red and gold decorated Tree........
The smaller round table on the side of the TV Entertainment Center........
So that is what my Living Room looks like decorated for Valentine's Day and it will stay this way for the month of February which is deemed American Heart Month by the American Heart Association!!
In my next post, I will be sharing my Valentine's decorations in the Dining Room.......
 Including another Valentine's Tree.......
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. Looks like you are wellset for Valentine's Day. I don't think I am going to haul my stuff out here this year. Being in a rental makes it not nearly as much fun as it was in years past. Next year I will be in my own home again and it will be like finding old friends in boxes. lol
Have a wonderful weekend. xo Diana

  4. Hi Debbie! Thanks once again for sharing your lovely home. I haven't put out any Valentine's decorations yet, but I always enjoy the memories. Your hutch is gorgeous and I have a mirror similar to the one hanging above it. And the chair is so beautiful..what a find! Hopefully you're having better weather. Take care.

  5. My goodness so much to admire. I had to scroll through your post several times to take in all the details. You put me to shame with all your Valentines decor, I only have a few hearts that I display all year around. I am going to attempt to put together a few vignettes.

  6. Hi Debbie. Your decorations are lovely. I especially like the white tree and the embellished candy boxes. I am working on decorating some heart shaped boxes. Possibly next week, I should be finished and post them. Take care, Thelma.

  7. And as you promised, send us another post on Valentine's Day. Thanks. Really Debbie has immense imagination and work for her decorations. I really enjoyed your Valentine's Angel. The restoration of the chair was very good.
Here in Portugal I have never seen houses decorated for Valentine's Day. Is this usual in your region (Pennsylvania State?) And also in all United States of America?
I really like to know different country habits.
One day I will tell you how in Portugal is celebrated the St. Antonio's Day (July 13). Graça
