Today, I will be sharing the china cupboard in our Den and how it will look for the Spring and Summer.......
But first, I want to Thank Charlene, over at A Pinch of Joy, for featuring my post, A Special Anniversary Date- Should Retirees Rent or Buy? from last week's Busy Monday Link Party!!
Thanks so much , Charlene!!
I also want to Thank Teresa, over at Aging Like a Fine Wine, for featuring the same post, A Special Anniversary Date- Should Retirees Rent or Buy?, from last week's Party in Your PJ's Party!!!
Thanks so much, Teresa!!!!
And I also want to Thank Diana, over at Nana Takes a Break, for featuring my post about my Nephew John's fight against Colon Cancer, A Lesson in Strength, Courage, Humility and Generosity,
in one of her wonderful Prayer Request Posts!!!
You can read her post HERE....
Thanks so much, Diana, for this kindness and thanks to those who responded to this post and my own post about my nephew and his family!!!
All your prayers and well wishes are extremely appreciated!!!
In this post, once again, I will be sharing some of my collection of red and blue transfer ware dishes.....
I like to display them in the china cupboard in the Den since the color theme of the Den is ivory, burgundy and blue!!!
The Den is where I spend a lot of time because when Joe is watching his hockey games, I watch m TV shows on the TV in this room and also this is where my main computer is located......
This is how the china cupboard looks now and it will stay this way until the end of the Summer.....
You may remember that I like to decorate the china cupboard and the area around it for different Seasons and Holidays......
This is how it looked for Christmas........
For Winter......
And for St. Patrick's Day!!
I am going to be sharing this area in 2 different posts.....
In this post, I will be sharing the top of the china cupboard and the inside of the china cupboard......
We will start with the top of the china cupboard......
It looked like this for Christmas......
And for Winter.......
This is what it looks like now.......
The Den has more of an English Cottage feel and I have a lot of Thomas Kinkade pieces and items that are similar to Thomas Kinkade's work in this room........
Love this picture which is not a Thomas Kinkade......
I purchased it from the old Home and Garden Party plan.......
A lighthouse rests on a vintage mini Lane chest which was used for a sales model when selling Lane Hope Chests...........
A blue tranferware tea cup and saucer.....
A ruby red depression glass bell....
The top of china cupboard is draped with several lace linens.....
I also decorated the sides of the china cupboard......
On one side is Victorian Lady sachet that I embellished......
On the other side is a Victorian flute cover.......
A heart of roses hangs beneath it.....
Inside the china cupboard is where I displayed some of my red and blue transferware pieces.....
The top shelf........
Middle shelf.....
Bottom shelf.......
The blue and red transferware will be perfect for the Summer Patriotic Holidays......
In my next post, I will be sharing how I decorated underneath the china cupboard with a few more pieces of Transferware..............
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......
And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

ReplyDeleteDebbie - you are truly awesome I expect everyone who comes to your home wants to see what the Den displays are like - do you do Valentines day, Easter and Halloween as well? You must have some good storage areas and a good system of labelling, I love the birdcage and the little birds of course!

Love your china cupboard. All of your collectibles help make it even more personable. That is why I hang to so many. Feel free to come see us at http://shopannies.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI’ve never seen the blue and red transferware mixed together before, I like it.

Hello Debbie!
ReplyDeleteWe have the same 1776 Independence blue transferware and I love your Castles red transferware. I was trying to think what the other one is called, maybe Cottages?? I like that one, too. Years ago, twenty now, when I drove out with my very young kids on a roadtrip to Texas {still find it ironic that we ended up here... Lol!} to visit my brother and his family, my sister-in-law Linnea gave me a blue teacup similar to the ones you have with the blue fluted edges ~ plates/saucers. Sooo pretty!!! I do have one blueware piece with fluted edges in storage... Can't wait to have more of those lovely pieces back out to display again!!!
Very cute display and I pinned several photos and used Tailwind on another for later for you,
Hugs,
Barb :)
I have mad love for all of your transferware, especially the tea cup sets and that soup tureen! I enjoy decorating my home for spring and summer in Americana and am working on that now. Always enjoy touring your collections. #merrymonday
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty collection, Debbie! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm--pinned!

ReplyDeleteOMG Debbie .. You have such a wonderful collection of transfer ware... I’m so fond of the red, which is hard to find here in Canada... There’s lots of blue though... Your china cupboard looks delightful with the lovely lace curtains and embroidered linens draped ...I do love handiwork...You have a talent for celebrating and decorating for special event ... .. each event is unique .... It’s easy to see that you enjoy your china.... Lovely post... >>Hugs
