Our Very Wet Cottage Garden, 2017

  Welcome!!

I waited for awhile to do this post because I was hoping it would FINALLY stop raining BUT no such luck!!!!

This is how much rain we got since Sunday when it rained all day and temps. barely got out of the 50's.......
Yep!!! That is 2 MORE inches of rain!!!
Wait!! We got another inch of rain overnight Tuesday!!
We are now up to 3 inches of rain since Sunday!!

And more rain and showers are predicted until this coming Sunday but with some Sun too!!!!!

I think we may need to build an ark!!!

I did end up taking pictures of my back yard Cottage Garden in between the rain drops and the few times that the Sun actually did pop out for a rare appearance!!!!

But first, I want to Thank Jillian, over at Vintage & Co., for featuring my post, The Patio Project, Joe's Side, Part 3, from the Let's Talk Vintage Link Party!!
Thanks so much Jillian!!!

I also want to Thank Kathy, over at Life on Lakeshore Drive, for featuring my post,Summer Patriotic Decor, Part 1, from last week's A Bouquet of Talent Linky Party!
Thanks again, Kathy!!

Please take some time to stop by and link up to these great parties!!

I wish that I had better photos to show you of our back yard Cottage Garden and hopefully, I will once this rain stops and my flowers start to bloom and grow.......
You may remember that I live in a townhouse and have a tiny back yard.......

This is the left side of the garden when you look out from the Patio.........

My tribute to my fur babies who have passed on.......
You can see that the Sun actually was out in this photo........
For a brief moment!!
I planted petunias in the large pot in the plant stand under the arbor.......
Begonias are planted in the pots on the chairs which I use as plant stands but I think that the begonias are getting water logged and maybe I might have to put those pots under the Patio Awning until it stops raining!!
The back left corner of the yard....
You can see that my perennials are coming up......
I planted impatiens in my flower bags and they are filling in nicely....
And this flower box is also planted with impatiens......
I apologize for how sloppy the yard looks as things need a good sweeping but everything is so wet!!

 Looking through the yard.....
I planted petunias in this pot.......
I planted more impatiens and begonias......
The hostas are doing well under the Tree......
More impatiens are planted in this pot....
Over in the right hand corner.......
See all the mulch in the walkway????

That is because of this robin's nest in the tree!!!
You can see Mam Robin is giving me the "eye"!!
Decorated large fly swatters from Dollar Tree that I made hang on the shed doors......
I just bought these 2 solar Hummingbird lights using a gift card from Amazon that was given to me for Mother's Day from my oldest son, Joey.......
They are really pretty at night when they change colors!!
Gnomes frolic around the birdbath.......
And to think it looked like this only 3 months ago!!!
I will be back to share more of our Cottage Garden as my flowers start to bloom and grow and I will be doing an Evening post showing all the lighting in the back yard......

In my next post, I will be sharing some changes that I made and what I planted in my pots in the Patio.......
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

  1. It looks very delightful, Debbie. . .really! We've had tons of rain, but it's beginning to slow down. Now, we are dealing with the Cottonwood shedding and the midges. Living on Lake Erie, this is quite typical of our June, which always is disappointing in a way, because the roses and peonies have about a week before the invasion. Oh, well! I think we will still have a beautiful and hopefully temperate Summer. Hope you have a great weekend!

  3. I want that sparkly windchime, beautiful!
I am hoping we will get rain, looks like you got most of it though. Your garden looks so pretty. Do you have to weed much or do you have a way of keeping them down. Even when it's terrible dry here, the weeds always peek through. I know you and everyone who visits enjoys your garden .

  4. Debbie, your garden looks lovely. I know our gardens love the rain, however isn't it summer now? We are having some rain and few thunder showers today in sunny California. Thank you for always sharing your pretty posts at DI&DI. Happy Sunday.

  5. Hi Debbie! Oh, your weather sounds like what we've had! We only had a couple of days with temps finally getting into the 80s! Now your little patio garden looks so nice! I really have the touch of making things cute! Wish I had half the sun in my backyard as you do. Mine is almost completely shade. Thanks for popping in to see me and yes, blogging has really changed hasn't it. I think it's a little bit of a shame. I know life marches on, but I did love the closeness we all felt long ago. Thanks for staying my blogging buddy!
    You are a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  8. You may be getting a lot of rain but it sure is making everything look nice and green! So neat that the sun was able to peek out and you could get some nice sunny pictures. Love the flower bags and the pretty hummingbirds!!

  9. DDebbie your garden is so full of pretty flowers and decorations. I could easily spend a couple of hours just admiring everything. That fairy garden is just adorable!

  10. Debbie, I am amazed that you have used every available space to plant so many lovely flowers. The memory garden for your fur babies is so sweet. We were getting a lot of rain, but suddenly none! Thanks for sharing at Gardens Galore!

  11. It was a wet spring... but it is so nice to have the gardens growing again. :) I'm so glad we don't have all of the snow like you did in one of your pictures!
