Fall Flowers and a Final Look at the Garden

I want to show you how the mums that I bought for the front yard opened up and share one final look at our cottage garden for this season........

First, I want to Thank Laurie, over at My Husband Has Too Many Hobbies, for featuring my post,  Spooky Dining Room, Part 1, from last week's Snickerdoodle Create-Make- Bake Party!!
Thanks so much, Laurie!!

I also want to Thank The Tumbleweed Contessa, over at  Recipes and Ramblins with The Tumbleweed Contessa, for featuring the same post from last week's What'd You Do This Weekend Party!!
Thanks so much!!

Please stop by and link up to these great parties!!

You may remember that we bought these yellow mums which were starting to open already and are now fully opened.......
Yes, my begonias are still hanging in there and doing well but we have low temps in the 30's predicted all week so I am sure that will be the end of them......

The tri colored mums that we bought had only buds on them.......
Here they are starting to open up........
Here they are now, almost all opened up.........
And these, in the urns, looked like this when we first bought them......
About 2 weeks ago, they looked like this.......
You can see the 3 colors coming out.......
And this is what they look like now........
Aren't they beautiful?????
Now I want to share what our back yard cottage garden looked like at the end of September......

The asters were in full bloom......
And the darker purple asters........
The flowers in the back did well until we decided to start to clean up the back yard for the Winter......

They still looked like this at the end of September!!
I had transplanted the dusty millers from the front when I decorated the front for Fall......
And this is an ornamental pepper plant that was also bought at Wegman's and is this doing well.......
All the perennials and annuals are now gone as it is almost the end of October.......
Joe has been picking up the leaves daily as they fall from the lilac tree.....
We will soon be covering the patio furniture and preparing the yard and patio for Winter.......

I hope you will come by and visit  again!!

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

Hugs,
Debbie

  2. I love mums, Debbie, and yours are looking gorgeous. I've about given up on buying live ones for Fall, as we have the warmer temps down here and they simply do not seem to last very long. Your gardens are so lovely. Looking forward to seeing everything gussied up for the holidays around your house! Wishing you all the best.
