I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Something Different in the Kitchen: Shutters!!

First, I would like to Thank Sandi, over at Rose Chintz Cottage, for featuring my post,
Pink Easter Tree and Bunny Village in the Dining Room, from last week's No Place Like Home Party!!
 Thanks so much , Sandi!!

Please stop by and visit and link up to this lovely party!!

In my last post, I gave you a glimpse of the Pass Through between the Kitchen and the Dining Room.........
This is how it looked last decorated for Valentine's Day.........
It all started with the decision to hang my Galley sign over the sink and not put it back where I have hung it for several years........above the counter bar....
I also hung my Summer garland and red rose lights here over the sink.......
I bought this galley sign many years ago at a "Yard Sale" at Red Lobster of all places!!!
They were remodeling and held a sale of everything that they were getting rid of in the parking lot!!
The galley sign was $5.00!!

You can still see it even when the chandy is hanging here......
And once I take down my Easter decorations, you will see it better.......

I will not be taking down my Easter decorations until the middle of April as I am not one to rush through the Holidays and hurry up to do the next "Big Thing" as so many do in Blogland.........

Back to the counter bar area......
I hung the stained glass panel here about a year or so ago and the white curtains have hung there for several years as a way of blocking the view into the Dining Room.......
I wanted to do something a bit different with this space so I first hung a pretty white eyelet valance that I had bought at an estate sale a few years ago for $1.00!!
I then hung a Summer Garland with red tipped white geraniums, roses and then added a flour and sugar sack garland.........
I hung an Easter Egg wreath in the center.......
I think I just may keep this egg wreath here for the Summer.......
The white valance just shows up better here, I think.......
My Kitchen has what used to be called a "Country Victorian" feel.........

I have no idea what the style is now called.......

But it is MY STYLE!

I bought these shutters at a yard sale 3 years ago for $1.00 and had no idea what to do with them.......
I was sitting in the Den, looking into the Kitchen and thought to myself, " I wonder what those shutters would look like there"!!

So I got them out and just placed them there.........
I liked the way they looked!!!
I hung a vintage crocheted rose pot holder from the hinges on each side for a pop of color against the wood........
There is still room on the sill for my red mercury glass candle sticks with vintage yellow fiesta ware tea cups and saucers on top of them.........
Vintage crocheted rose doilies sit on top of the candle holders....
On the counter bar........
I have a red and yellow quilted runner on the counter top........
My vintage canning jars also still fit in the sill.....
The oregano and crushed red pepper are for Joe as he makes a pizza for himself every night!!
And now this is what I see when I am sitting in the Den , watching TV.......
I do want to share how the stained glass panel looks when the lights are on in the Dining Room.......

This is what it looks like on the Dining Room side.....
A different look in the Kitchen for Spring and Summer.......
I have also been dabbling in the Den with the china cupboard.............
Put my red and blue transferware dishes in the China Cupboard.......
And kept the suitcases around the bottom for display.....
So I hope you will come by and visit  again!!

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

Hugs,
Debbie
