I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I want to wish all my Canadian friends a very Happy Thanksgiving Day!!!

Today, I will be sharing the Harvest Tea at our church, Saint Maria Goretti.....

I have been a hostess many times in the past but this year, I was co chair of the event with my friend Rosemary....

We changed things up a bit from how it was run in past years with the biggest change being it was held on a Sunday afternoon instead of a weekday evening....

We also had it catered so the hostesses were only responsible for bringing a desert rather than providing all the food for their guests that they invited to sit at their tables.....

I did a bit of baking......

I made a batch of Ricotta Cheese Cookies with Butterscotch Chips.....

A totally different take on these traditional Italian cookies.....

And I also made a double batch of Potato Chip Cookies.....

I hosted 2 tables for the Tea.......

This is the one that I invited my guests to sit at.....

My theme was Winter Wonderland......

The church provided white tablecloths for all the tables this year......

I placed a tree skirt down, using it as a topper......

I used this large snowman gifted to me by my friend Anne Marie......

Joe picked this up on Clearance several years ago......

I used it as a back drop......

On each side of the snowman are Winter birds......

Along with snow balls and pine cones......

On each side are snowman pillar candleholders.....

I used 2 strands of battery operated lights that look like snow balls to me......

On the other side......

Since Joe always helped me when I did the Tea's, I felt that I wanted to pay homage to him.....

There is a set of Winter birds to the right of the lantern........

I included this Angel and Joe's prayer card.....

There are red cardinals on the lantern......

I did feel like he was there with me....

My favors became part of the table decorations.....

Since the church was providing the dishes, I did not need to have any dishes at the table.....

I did place napkins with a snowman holding a red cardinal at the table......

Since I bought everything for this table 2 years ago ( there was no Tea last year), I used a paper desert plate to stabilize the snowman and the bottle brush tree which were my favors for my guests....

The side......

And here I am standing by this table.....

The bags on the chairs were for my guests to put their favors in.....

I also did a table up for the Entertainment that we were having.......

I decided to do a simple Autumn table.....

I bought green velvet like pumpkins from Dollar Tree and embellished them to use as favors.....

I pretty much pulled things right out of my house for this table and called it "Autumn Elegance".....

And now on to the other Hostess's tables.....

My co chair Rosemary partnered with Kathy and their table theme was  " Evening in Paris.....

They had 18 guests....

Rosemary always rents chair covers for the Tea.....

You can go as fancy as you like with your tables or as simple as you want.....

Lorraine's table was "An Apple a Day".....

The bags that are on the chairs were filled with fresh apples for her guests....

My good friends Carol, Barb and Betty did a Fall themed table.....

Here I am adding a bow to the pumpkin in the middle at their request......

Ann Marie partnered with Cheryl and did 2 tables.....

This one was " Autumn Cornucopia"

And "Pumpkin Delight"

Annette's table was done in a Fall theme.....

 Maryann's table was "Circus, Circus"

And Marissa's table was "Rustic Rose"

This is my friend Kathy, posing by her Dad's piano , which her family donated to the church when he passed away.....

It is played at Mass on Sundays in addition to our organ.....

We had it moved into the hall for the choral group.....

The tables were in a circle around the buffet tables.....

We had the event catered this year......

Tea sandwiches and salads.....

Each of the hostesses and some of the guests brought in deserts for the desert table.....

This table was filled by the time the Tea started......

Just some of the deserts that we had......

We had coffee, hot water for tea, water and soda on tap......

This is Father Alex and I deciding when he could lead us in a prayer......

That is my sister Barb sitting at the table in front of me....

Yes, I was the "Master of Ceremonies"....

These pictures were taken by one of my friends.....

Our entertainment was the Music Ministry of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal for the Diocese of Scranton.....

They performed for 40 minutes.....

It seemed everyone enjoyed the Harvest Tea and we have already booked the date for next year's Tea, God willing.....

We will be tweaking some things next year as we are learning as we go.....

This is a video taken by my friend as I was introducing the hostesses....

I hope you enjoyed this post on the Harvest Tea at my church....
