Dollar Tree Fall Haul and Crafting

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

In this post, I will be sharing what I have bought for Fall at Dollar Tree and a bit of Fall Crafting that I did......

Thanks, Joanne, over at Slices of Life, for choosing my post, More Neighborhood Landscaping Projects, as one of her features from last week's Encouraging Hearts and Home Link Party!!

 Thanks so much, Joanne!

Please stop by and link up to this charming party!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

I have not been able to do much in my back yard cottage garden lately because of the excessive heat and humidity that we have been having and also because I did not want to disturb the Robin's nest that was built in our tree......

You can see one of the parent robins with a baby robin, of which there are 2 in the nest....

I took these with the back door slightly open, hanging my arm out holding the camera as to not disturb them......

Hopefully, soon they will be ready to leave the nest and I can get to work out in the back yard.....

The parents stay pretty close to the nest......

At least we have been getting thunderstorms with a lot of rain that I have not had to water much at all......

Wednesday, the 12th, was our 43rd Wedding Anniversary....

It was also in the 90's that day.....

We will be having a combined family Pizza Party today, on Sunday, as we will also be celebrating Joe's 67th  Birthday, which is on Tuesday, the 17th.....

As for 46 years together and 43 married, we are lucky that we have not killed each other ......

YET...

Which is truly amazing with Retirement and Joe not working part time anymore, opposing Political views and the Pandemic....

But time will tell!!

On Friday, our son, Joey, bought dinner from one of our favorite places, Valley Seafood.....

We usually get food from there for our Anniversary.....

Joe and I split a large piece of haddock and a 1/2 pound of scallops....

Joey had just a "few" chicken tenders with mozzarella sticks and fries......

He ate all but 2!!!

 LOL!!

The paper plates are because Joe, who does the dishes, was lazy and did not feel like washing regular dishes that day!!!!

GEEZ!!!

On Saturday, I baked 2 batches of Zucchini Bread that I froze to have for the upcoming Holidays.....

It is a good thing that Joey keeps nothing in his freezer because that is where they are!!!

I had some zucchini left over so I sliced it, dipped them in milk then coated them in Italian Bread Crumbs mixed with Parmesan Cheese then fried them up like my Dad used to do when I lived at my parent's house....

I made a lot of fried Zucchini when I was pregnant with Joey as it was one of my cravings!!!

In my last post, I shared the rest of my late Summer decorations in the Living Room.....

And a Purse Organization project that I did.....

Click HERE if you missed it.....

Now I know I said that I wasn't going to be buying any new decor items but when I was perusing Dollar Tree's web site, looking at their Fall merchandise. I just could not help myself.....

I had Joe stalking the 2 Dollar Trees that are 5 and 10 minutes from our house for at least a week until FINALLY, he saw boxes and boxes at the one right by our house ready to be unpacked.....

It took 2 days for them to put things out and they were being bought up as fast as they could stock the shelves!!!!

I had made a list of things I was looking for and showed Joe the pictures of what I wanted online.....

This is the first Fall Haul from Dollar Tree that Joe bought......

First let me start by showing you some bows a made from white and black buffalo checked ribbon Joe bought.......

I have some bows made from this ribbon out on the front porch now for the Summer so I added a few more bows.....

And now on to the Fall signs at Dollar Tree.....

They have outdone themselves this year.....

I bought 2 of these canning jar signs last year that I embellished and I will be doing the same with this one......

And I am sure I will find a place for this metal red cart sign.....

These horizontal signs are actually quite large in size......

23 inches by 5 inches!!!!

These are also 23 x 5 inches.....

I love the aqua on these even though for the Fall/Winter, I change out my drapes from aqua to taupe in the Living Room......

I think these will help make the other aqua things in the Living Room pop....

I love these but I have not decided if I will keep them like this or separate them....

And I have last year's version of this sign but the flowers are different this year and are in a mason jar......

Joe did pretty good with this Haul.....

2 days later, all these signs were gone!!!

There were some other things that I wanted so I actually ventured out shopping!!!!

As I mentioned in my last post, I truly only leave the house to go for my monthly hair cut and to go to the occasional Dr.'s and Dentist appointment....

I can not remember the last time that I went shopping......

I checked the Dollar Tree that is less than 10 minutes away from us first.....

And this is what I bought......

I am not really into the whole Farmhouse red truck thing but for Fall, a truck filled with pumpkins just screams Fall Harvest to me.....

This is actually a door mat but it is lightweight enough to use as a place mat which I plan on using in the Kitchen on the counter bar.....

A few more things.....

Loved this orange and white buffalo checked pumpkin which I plan on using in the Kitchen.....

A pack of 50 leaves and a wired Jute cord for crafting.....

Some Fall Fairy items.....

These I plan on using with my Fall Harvest Village that I set up on top of the TV Entertainment Center in the Living Room.....

And these I plan on using for my Doll House.....

These copper acorns and pine cones will match the pumpkins that I have from other years on copper......

And that is a silver acorn and I am kicking myself for not buying more along with a few silver pine cones as they will also work well for Christmas and Winter decorations, especially in my Powder Room......

I did not think of that until I got home and when I sent Joe back the next day, they were sold out!!!

Of course, I could not resist this pumpkin with a B on it......

And I already used this ribbon for a few projects in the Den.....

Then I went to the new Dollar Tree that opened a few months ago in the Shopping Center that is right next to my house......

This is what I bought in that one......

These orange and white buffalo check pumpkins will be perfect for the Kitchen.....

Bloggers, people on You Tube and Instagram are all going crazy for these velvet pumpkins.....

They come in several other colors but these are the perfect color of pink for my Powder Room.....

And this pumpkin is just so pretty that it had to come home with me........

These will be great fillers for some Fall wreaths that may need a freshening up.....

I bought the sponges for painting.......

And these stickers will work well in making some Fall ornaments for my Trees.....

I bought 2 rolls of this ribbon to use out on the front porch......

There are a few other things that caught my eye online ....

Mainly things for crafting and possibly making some ornaments and adding to arrangements so I will be having Joe check back at the 2 Dollar Trees right by us and hopefully, they will continue to get more Fall merchandise in......

Joe was still making the rounds at the Dollar Tree stores and did find these....

Now I am happy that I will be able to use these for Christmas and for Winter in the Powder Room....

I also wanted him to pick up a Fall rug that I saw in the Ollies circular.....

This isn't the one I wanted but I like this one better for the Kitchen.....

Now, I want to share what I did with some of my new Fall treasures......

I added some leaves and some rust colored ribbon flowers from my stash to these signs to give them some depth and texture....

Just a few on these until I am sure as to where they are going......

I also did the same to this one.....

And to match the above sign, I "dabbled" a bit with these pumpkins.....

I embellished them with leaves, flowers and used the wired twine that I also bought at Dollar Tree...

Since I decorate the Powder Room for Fall/Halloween with pink and black, I also embellished these a bit.....

I used black and pink flowers and black pipe cleaners.....

I also made a few bows using another Dollar Tree ribbon that I bought some time ago with the red truck ribbon......

And I used what was left from the 2 rolls and made one bow from it....

I will be using these outside on the front porch......

I did some Crafting for Fall too......

My son has been giving me some Pringle can containers.......

Which I painted so the graphics on them would not show through any fabric that I used......

In a previous post, I shared that I made this using a Pringles can, a Parmesan Cheese container and a Herb Ox Chicken Broth Cube container.....

I saw this online in Big Lots......

I thought I could do something a bit similar.....

This is what I came up with.....

I covered the cans with burlap and trimmed them off with orange gimp trim that I have in my stash....

You may remember that Joe bought a Mystery Craft Box at Ocean state Job Lot a little while ago and several packs of these Iron On letters were in the box......

I did not care for the animal print after gluing the letters on to the can to spell out Fall so I simply colored them with a black permanent marker.....

After gluing the can together, I embellished them with leaves from Dollar Tree and ribbon flowers from my stash......

I used cinnamon sticks, which I had, for the stems.....

A great way to use up some things in my stash......

I am probably going to do some sort of arrangement in this red wagon with them.....

My second cousin, Diane, sent me this photo which shows using pool noodles from Dollar Tree to make "pumpkins', thinking I can do something similar with Pringles cans,,,,,

I made one "pumpkin" using the Pringles cans....

I painted them orange, using a paint sample that I bought at Lowes on the OOPS Paint table for $1, then added green gimp trim and tied twine right out of our storage room around them.....

To keep down the amount of mess, I used sheet moss that I had in my stash on top, leaves from Dollar Tree and a few that I cut out of burlap.......

Made the stem out of burlap and the bow out of the twine......

When I do get out my Fall decorations after Labor Day, I will glue a few small acorns that I have on to the top.......

Well, there are a few small things that I still want that come in packs to do a bit more crafting but so far I have not been able to find them because as soon as our Dollar Tree stores are getting Fall merchandise in, that is how fast it is flying off the shelves......

Joe will still be watching out when making his daily rounds to all the stores.....

Are your Dollar Tree stores being picked out too????

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I bought and crafted for this Fall....

And I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  1. Your wedding pictures are wonderful! Happy Anniversary!

A little (a lot) jealous you have someone to go to Dollar Tree for you. We are trying to stay in as cases in our small town have jumped from 0-3 cases per day to 19-25 cases per day. And those are just ones who get tested . . .

  2. You got all that from the Dollar Store! Wow! That's amazing. And I need to try frying some zucchini. That looks great.

  4. We went to Dollar tree yesterday and saw everything you bought there. So it wasn't picked cleaned just yet. Give it another couple weeks and it probably will be though. I figured I'd wait but maybe I shouldn't wait too long. I'm hoping since it's only August your Dollar Trees will get more fall merchandise in. I loved the craft you made with those cans. Cute and clever. Happy anniversary to you and Joe. Loved the pictures. Why was Joe's hair curly in the pictures and now it's straight? Are you sure it's the same guy? LOL And your dad's expression in that first picture is saying "are you sure you wanna go through with this?"

  7. Happy anniversary to you both. We will celebrate 44 in September God willing. YUM on the food. Making me hungry. Loving your dollar tree haul. Our dollar tree is small therefore doesn't have a wide variety but when they get things in that seem popular it all goes so fast! I did venture into Holly Lobby recently and picked up a few things for my table. That is, if I get around to doing it. LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  8. What a fun fall haul! While I am not in the fall mood yet, I definitely am ready for the weather to get colder! October is by far my favorite month of the year, so I always get excited when it is only a couple of months away!
