Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for
posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge
it......
Today, I am going to be sharing some of the Easter decorations in the Kitchen....
Thanks so much, Melissa!!!
Thanks again, Lisa!!!
Sadly, last week's party was the last party for Farm Fresh Tuesdays Blog Hop!!
I want to thank all the hosts for hosting this great Blog Hop as long as they did!!!!!
Thanks so much, Linda!!!
Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!
March 23rd was our DIL Danielle's Birthday......
We celebrated it with our usual Pizza Party at home.....
Of course, our Grand Pup Little Faye was the hit of the party....
She has Uncle Joey wrapped around her little paw....
She definitely loves the ottoman......
She is looking around the corner down the hall way to try to see Joey.....
Jim bought Danielle this sweet shirt for her Birthday!!
And you can tell by the look on his face that this shirt says it all about Jim!!!!
Treats for such a good little girl......
I also went for a hair cut that day......
My once a month trip out of the house....
Honestly, that is the only time I have any desire to leave my home as I am having such a great time "playing house".....
And I truly have no desire to see or be with other people....
I had enough of that for 42 years while I was working, taking care of people when they are at their worst, when they are ill....
I truly do not miss dealing with people and the general public.....
I get enough socialization "talking" to all my FB and Blogger friends and that is just fine with me!!!
Speaking of "playing house", in my last post, I shared my Pink Easter Tree in the Dining Room along with the rest of the Easter decorations in the Dining Room.....
Click HERE if you missed that post....
Today, I will be sharing the Easter decorations in the Kitchen.....
I have said many times before that this is the focal wall in my small Kitchen....
My Kitchen has a Country French Victorian vibe going on in it and it is decorated in the color theme of red and yellow.....
So of course, the pastel colors of Easter would not look particularly good in the Kitchen so I tried to stick with that red and yellow color theme and last year, I added orange in the way of carrots to it for Easter!!!!
For the most part, the Kitchen is pretty much returned to "normal", whatever that may be.......
I decorated my Kitchen with a lot of vintage Kitchen items that were bought years ago at yard sales, estate sales and church flea markets along with those given to me by family and friends........
Last year, I decided to leave this Tree up and decorate it for Easter but I will get to that in a minute....
A view from the hall.....
I decorated this chalkboard by taping an Easter picture over the apple tile on the top of it.....
I wrote "Hoppy Spring"
And placed a bunny, an Easter basket that I made last year from peat pots and an embellished egg box on the shelf....
This year, I had Joe pick me up a carrot garland from Michael's using up a gift card that I had from 2 years ago....
The crocheted cross that is a refrigerator decoration as given to me by my Mother many years ago....
The magnets on the cross made it easy to attach to the lid of a vintage red and white enamelware pot that I hung on the wall....
Pussy willows, a carrot bunch pick and yellow flowers whose name escapes me right now were used as a Tree Topper.....
Last year, I had bought some black and white checked ribbon, even though I am really not a big fan of the craze going on right now, and I thought it would look good for Easter in the Kitchen so I made a bow for the top of the Tree out of it....
There are also several Dollar Tree egg picks tucked into the top of the Tree.....
Last year I could not find any carrots if my life depended on it so I made my own carrot ornaments for this Tree out of cones that I had in my stash.....
Click
HERE if you would like to see the post I did about them last year.....
I used ornaments that I already had in the colors of red, green, yellow and orange for this Tree....
I like the addition of the carrot garland this year....
And I also tucked some cotton picks into the Tree to create a bit of depth.....
I had 3 small Easter plates in yellow with chicks on them so I glued a ribbon hanger on the back of them and hung them on the Tree....
After Easter, I will pack this Tree away until the Fall......
The Hutch that I made by marrying a desk with the shelf top from a bedroom dresser has been changed back to normal for the most part.....
My wire baskets have made a come back on top of the Hutch.....
A wire apple basket....
And a wire hen basket........
A vintage red and white enamelware pan, egg cups and salt and pepper shakers also grace the top of the Hutch....
I made another bow from the black and white checked ribbon for the top of the Hutch.....
I hung a Bunny Happy Easter sign bought at Dollar Tree last year in the middle of the 2 shelves.....
Top shelf.....
Bottom shelf.....
Egg picks tucked into the vintage bowl filled with vintage Kitchen utensils, a loaf pan and cookie cutters.....
I left out my Holiday Harlequin black and white tea pot for Easter.....
I do like to decorate the desk area of the Hutch for the different Holidays and Seasons.....
Keeping with the carrot theme.....
The carrot house was bought at Dollar Tree.....
The carrot bags of Reese's Pieces were what Joe brought home as a joke one day when I asked him to look for carrot garland and at first , he could not find any....
And he thought that he was going to get to eat them!!!!!
I guess the joke was on him!!!!!!
Keeping with the color theme using green egg cups, yellow chicks and white eggs....
The egg dish was bought a few years aback at Michael's for 90% off on Clearance.....
I framed a picture of carrots in a black frame that I already had......
The dome with the fairy lights inside of it was bought 3 years ago in Big Lot's....
The bright green place mat was bought in Dollar Tree.....
I also like to decorate underneath the desk area of the hutch.....
On top of a vintage metal picnic basket....
Some vintage paper mache German eggs and one large reproduction one....
Oh, so much Easter fun and goodness in your house!! I know what you mean about not needing to go out to socialize. I am a homebody too and love socializing with my blog world online. And, oh my gosh, Faye is SO CUTE and looks just like our Sunny did when she was younger. (She's 15 1/2 now.) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! I really love that metal picnic basket. You have such a way with decorating. We couldn't wait for our first vaccine. Now I'm not so sure I want to go anywhere anyway. It is nice to stay home. I actually went to Walmart for the first time in a year yesterday. I wanted some pillows for my front porch that I saw online and you had to go to the store. About 25% of the shoppers (at least) had their masks around their chin. And we have a mandatory mask mandate for our whole state. We also have a color rating for number of new cases and the worst is red. We are a red county! I grabbed my pillows (two say - just stay home) and went to the checkout. The man in front of me took off his mask to check out! I could not believe it. I finally went to self checkout, quickly paid and left. I will not be returning to Walmart.
ReplyDeleteI love the carrot tree, Deb, and the little fluff ball, Faye, is just adorable..Stay well..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteI would have a real hard time not eating those Reece's carrots myself! It all looks so festive. Pinned.
ReplyDeleteI did like seeing that wall all decorated for Easter. TFS! That carrot garland was cute as was the little bunny head tucked in there. How cute is little Faye? I loved the way she was looking after uncle Joey. Hoppy spring to you!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking the time to stop by and for letting me know that you did by leaving such a kind comment!! It is greatly appreciated!!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
DeleteHugs,
Debbie
I'm loving your bunnies in the kitchen. The black and white check is a nice pop with the pastels! Hugs, hope you have a great week! Sandi
ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen!!! Everything looks amazing and I'm crazy about the Faye! I'm always cheered up by a visit to your house. I don't think I've ever noticed your teapot lamp before but it's adorable. You have such a gift Debbie. Your house is incredibly warm and I'm so grateful to have met you if only virtually. Tell Danielle happy birthday! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour spring kitchen is so pretty, Debbie and love seeing how you displayed all of your lovely Easter and spring treasures. The carrots you made for your tree are so stinking cute and love the cheerful colors you used in your displays. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe Easter/Spring decor is a real delight but what I loved most was scrolling up and down several times to admire your wonderful vintage kitchen collection. A true feast for the eyes.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I love your carrot trimmed tree and chicks in the kitchen. Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteYour dog is so cute! Love the carrot tree with the eggs. That's very clever and so darned cute!
ReplyDeleteBunnies and carrots belong in the kitchen decor! So very festive. Happy birthday to your DIL and keep spoiling that fur baby. Happy Easter and thanks for stopping by again this week. #HomeMattersParty
