I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Front Porch Update, 2019

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I want to start by THANKING everyone for their kind words both here and on my Christmas Blog and on my face book page, in regards to the passing of my dear nephew, John.....
Please say a prayer for his wife Renae and his 3 lovely daughters, Cortney, Caitlin and Carly, as they deal with this terrible loss.....

For those of us who loved him dearly, he will be with us forever in our hearts....

Today, I am finally posting a late Summer update about our Front Porch........
Some time ago, I finally found an outdoor rug that would fit our front porch.......

But first let me show you what the front porch looked like in the beginning of the Summer......
I had had 3 outdoor rugs on the front porch that I had bought a few years ago in Big Lot's......
Take note of how sparse the flower pots look.....
And out door pillows and cushions for the wicker set , which were also several years old.....
Both the rugs and the cushions really take a lot of abuse because of all the rain that we have had not only this Summer but last Summer, which was our wettest Summer on record....

I was lucky enough to find a rug in Ocean State Job Lot Store that would actually not be too small nor too large for my front porch.......
It was 3' by 10" and was only $9.99!!!!

I liked the red and white colors and the pattern since my color theme for the porch, both in decor and flowers , is red, orange and yellow......

And you may also remember that I recently bought out door cushions and pillows on Clearance when we shopped at Boscov's.....
The cushions were marked down to $12 each and the pillows were $6 each but I also had a 15 % off coupon so they came out to a little over $30 for all......

So here is my updated Front Porch.......
I also will be sharing how my flowers are growing in this post......
You can see that the flowers are doing quite well!!!
Okay, let's start at the entrance to my little porch.....
The marigolds and begonias have really filled in!!
You can see that the rug almost extends to the end of the porch on this side.....
I really love the new rug....
It really pops!!
And you can see that it almost extends to the end of the porch on this side....
Let's take a look at the new cushions and pillows......
The cushions are perfect because I did look at others but they were too large for this style of chair......
And again, I love the pop of color that the red pillows provide!!!
They go well with everything that I have on the porch.......
Let's see how some of those flowers are doing.....
The long planter on this side of the porch was planted with only 4 begonias......

Look at it now!!!
By the way, I turned a non-functioning solar light into a candle holder for a citronella votive candle.....
This yellow marigold is thriving here....
The pots and urn in front of the porch are also doing very well!!
These 2 pots were planted with 2 yellow marigolds and 2 orange marigolds....
And this is the urn on this side of the porch.....
I like how the new additions brightened up the porch for the remainder of the Summer......
But come the Fall, I will switch back to the other rugs and cushions for the chairs as they are more consistent with typical Fall colors......
The flowers will also transition nicely into Fall decorating.....
In a future post, I will be sharing an update on the flower beds in the front yard......
I hope you enjoyed your visit today and I hope you enjoyed seeing my little and inexpensive update to our porch.....
I do hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
