"Sweet" Summer Tree in the Craft Room, 2018

  Welcome!!

Today, I am sharing what I call my "Sweet" Summer Tree in my Craft Room!!

I thought I better do it before the Summer is over........

We are FINALLY getting a break from the Heat and Humidity and the Rain that we have had for well over a month here in NEPA!!!!
I hope to get some much needed yard work done on Friday and Saturday of this week!!!

Those 70's and 50's look fantastic to me!!!!

Before I share my "Sweet" Summer Tree in the Craft Room, I want to thank these 2 hosts of the Over the Moon Linky Party for choosing 2 of my posts as their own personal features from last week's party!!!!

THANKS to Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn,  who chose my post, The Story of Us, 40th Wedding Anniversary, as one of her features!!

And I also want to THANK Nikki, over at Gwin Gal Inside and Out, for choosing my post,
Late Summer Butterfly Tree, as one of her features!!
Thanks so much to both Bev and Nikki, 2 of the hosts of the Over the Moon Linky Party!!!

Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!!
Before I share my "Sweet" Summer Tree, I want to say that for me, this has been such a disappointing Summer for me........

You see, I had a lot of plans........

But all of this Heat , Humidity and Rain has really botched up the plans that I had for this Summer.......
I had planned to sit and read on our front porch in the afternoons when it is shady and watch the sunsets in the evening.......
I had also planned of enjoying our little back yard Cottage Garden.......
While sitting out on our little back patio........
I also planned on starting and finishing a huge project........

I had planned on painting my bedroom furniture which was my Mother's, bought for her by her parent's when she was 16 years old........

I am afraid that that project will have to wait until next year now.......

And we even planned to have new windows installed in our townhouse in September but we do not want to have to put air conditioners back in once the new windows are installed which may be a possibility with the way the temperatures have been this Summer.....

So we have put that on hold until next May.......

I am hoping that next Summer will be a more tolerable Summer and I can carry out all the plans that I had for this Summer......

Now, I better show you my Summer " Sweet" Tree in my Craft Room before the Summer is over!!!
This is what this Tree looked like decorated for Christmas this past Season........

I stripped down the Tree after Christmas to just the lights......
I had bought a set of faux rose specialty lights many years ago and when the light set died, I simply took off the roses from that set and added them to the existing lights on the Tree..........
I topped off the Tree with a bow made from a shimmery pink ribbon, feathers and a sprig of flowers......
I then wrapped the tree with a white and a pink shimmery ribbon........
Next, I added pink and green berry garland........
Then I added an iridescent rose beaded garland......
Now comes the "Sweet" part of the Tree.......

What doesn't scream Summer but Ice Cream Cones.....
And cup cakes!!!!!!
I also added a few more ornaments........
Tea cup and tea pot ornaments.......
I did add a few more things to the Tree but I wanted to show you the finished Tree first......
This is the top of the Tree..........
I added Butterflies to the Tree...........
Lots of Butterflies.........
Including some new ones that I bought after Christmas least Season.......
I also tucked a few large pink rose stems into the Tree.........
And a few white rose stems too!!
Plus a few bird ornaments.......
And even a few real tea cups!!!!!!
Here is a special tea pot photo frame ornament with a photo of my Dad holding my son Jim when he was a baby........
Another tea pot frame ornament with a photo of my Dad holding my son Joe when he was a baby.....
The base of the Tree is covered by..........
A Tree skirt that I made.......
Hat boxes and a cute bear and doll sit on a bench decorating the bottom of the Tree........
This Tree will stay decorated for Summer until October when I start to decorate the upstairs for Christmas........
I hope you enjoyed seeing my "Sweet" Summer Tree in my Craft Room.........
And I hope you realize that you can have a Tree up year round if you use your imagination and look for decorations and ornaments to use at other times of the year........

In the future, I will be sharing more of how my Kitchen looks in the Summer...........

So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. Mornin' Debbie!
You certainly do have a "sweet tree"! I especially like the butterflies and ice cream cones. Your post is a reminder that I need to get busy in my craft/study room...lots of unfinished projects...Hopefully you can enjoy time outside some with the cooler temps.
    Take care!

  2. Wow, that's quite a tree! I would like to keep a tree up all year like that, but we've been going back and forth about selling our house so I've been minimizing all the decor. Those cupcake ornaments are extremely sweet (excuse the pun) and really help set off the theme.
