I'm back!!
Don't know if you noticed or not but I took a bit of a break from posting.....
This horrific heat and humidity, coupled with lots of rain this Summer is having both a physical and mental effect on me and I just needed to "chill" for a bit.......
The rain takes a toll on my physical well being because of my auto immune disease and arthritis along with the fact that I am in desperate need of a cortisone shot in my right knee and am not scheduled to receive one until the 23rd of this month.....
But I am hanging in there even though it feels like the bones in my knee joint are moving against each other every time I take a step........
Today, I will be sharing my late Summer decorations in the area of the stairs in the Living Room.......
But first, I want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for featuring my post,"Under the Sea" Decorations and Tree, from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Party!!
Thanks so much, Bev!!
I also want to Thank Angelina, over at Petite Haus, for featuring my post, "Under the Sea" Tree, also from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Party!!
Thanks so much, Angelina!!
Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!!!
I decorated the area by the stairs for the late Summer.........
This is what you see when you walk in the front door of our townhouse......
I hung a wreath that I made several years ago.....
I used the colors of peach and aqua which are the colors of our Living Room......
I added a bow made from peach ribbon......
I used peach, white and aqua flowers......
On the stairs are 2 lanterns.......
You may remember them from a recent post........
I bought them in Sears on the last day of their Going Out of Business sale for a mere $3.99 each, marked down from $24.99 each!!
I added bows to the top of the lanterns made from shimmery peach and aqua ribbons......
Inside the lanterns are battery operated candles that I embellished with shells last year.....
I also decorated the LED lighted branch Tree in this corner........
On a natural wicker stool is a vintage peach bowl and pitcher that I bought at an Estate Sale many years ago.......
The floral arrangement has peach and a dusty rose colored flowers.......
This year, I added a pack of 10 gold butterfly ornaments that Joe bought after Christmas for $1.00!!!!
Let's take a closer look......
The glitter really makes them sparkle with the lights on......
I recently bought this galvanized tray that you see at the base of the Tree at Dollar General.........
It was only $5.00 and I had a coupon for $5.00 off $25.00 so it was essentially free.......
I filled it with shells.........
And added some shells that I painted and embellished......
In the middle is an apothecary jar that I filled with sand and shells........
And topped it off with a bow.......
You may also remember this Brian Baker Lighthouse that I bought at Salvation Army for $2.99......
I hung it above the curio in this curio........
I love how the Tree looks in the evening......
I hope you enjoyed seeing my late Summer decorations in this area of the Living Room......
And I hoped you enjoyed seeing my "Under the Sea" decorations in the Living Room......
And my "Day in the Park" display on top of the TV Entertainment Center......
The Living Room will stay decorated like this until after Labor Day when I decorate for Autumn......
We were going to have new windows installed in the beginning of September but due to the record heat and humidity that we have been experiencing here in the Northeast, we decided to wait until next April/May when it will be a bit cooler because chances are we would have to put the air conditioners back in after the new windows are installed......
I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......
And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
If you do not have a blog, PLEASE give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment. If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

Debbie, I hope your break was restorative. This heat is about to wreck me as well. I've been doing all my cooking in the morning. Try to stay cool!
ReplyDeleteThe heat has been horrible this summer. 111? Awful. I've felt the need for a break too. The lanterns are wonderful.

What a beautiful butterfly tree. I do love seeing your trees. Thank you for sharing at Over The Moon.
ReplyDeleteOuch Debbie, I'm so sorry your knee is still so sore and that the humidity is bringing you down. I'll try to blow some cold weather from down here in South Africa for you. I do hope it starts getting more bearable real soon. And you late butterfly tree will hopefully help a lot. The colors are so refreshing and soothing. Sending you loads of virtual hugs and love
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful butterfly tree Debbie. Love how it lights up. Thanks for sharing at Creative Mondays :)

Debbie, I love all of the sparkles and shimmers! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I cringe when you talk about your knee...it sounds painful. My hubby used to get them in his back for his herniated discs. Hopefully the weather gets better for you. BTW - totally stealing the sea shell candle idea :-)
ReplyDeleteI lover how you always embrace the beautiful details of every season! I love butterflies, although I haven't seen many this summer. Perhaps I should decorate with a few around the house. Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing at TFT!
