I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Summer Kitchen, Part 2, 2018

Welcome!!

Today, I will be sharing the bottom half of this wall in my Kitchen.......
In my previous post, I shared the top half of this wall.......
Click HERE if you missed that post.....

I mentioned in that post that even though I know many of you have seen my Kitchen many times, I decided to share it again because in the Summer, it is devoid of Seasonal and Holiday decorations!!

In other words, I am sharing how it looks normally.......

The style of my Kitchen is what used to be called Country Victorian.........

I do chuckle as I see many things that I have had in my Kitchen for many years coming back into style like Copper........
Wood items and crocks like this Kitchen featured on Pinterest.........
And Vintage Kitchen items shown in this photo featured on Pinterest
They always say that design repeats itself about every 20-30 years so I am sure my Victorian style will be slowly creeping back into Home Decor as there are already signs of it in fashion like Lace,
 Roses,
And velvet is already present in Home Decor......

Look at these drapes from J.C. Penney's!!!!
And in furniture like this sofa offered by Houzz.....
Wallpaper and borders are also coming back......
So I guess it will only be a matter of time before my style is BACK in Style again!!!!

Now let's get back to my Kitchen.........

We will start on the left side the wall..........
The top half of the wall looks like this......
And the bottom half looks like this.....
I hung my antique style Coca Cola sign here........
Because I thought it would be perfect for the Summer.........
 Against the Hutch......
Sitting on a green wooden box is a red and white enamel pot........
 Filled with wood apples......
In the corner is a yellow milk can that I bought many years ago at a yard sale for $5.00......
A flower arrangement of yellow flowers, red roses and an LED lighted branch is stucked inside the milk can......
On the floor to the side of the milk can is a vintage iron door stop.....
In my last post, I shared the top of this hutch.......
Now I would like to show you the bottom of the hutch starting with the desk area.......
I usually like to decorate this area for each Season and Holiday......
I thought I would set up a bit of a Summer Beverage Station......
I have taken photos with the lamp both on and off.......
In the left corner.........
A few of several vintage canning jars that I have collected..........
In the background, is a vintage blackboard that I wrote "Summer Beverage Station" on.......
A vintage glass pitcher that was my dear neighbor Elly's.......
It sets on top of a vintage plate.......
I chose a pretty quilted place mat for the desk area.....
"Keep Cool" is written on a small framed chalkboard......
A set of vintage glasses which were also from my neighbor Elly.......
A vintage milk glass lamp sits in the right corner......
 2 more vintage canning jars.......
This desk area will stay this way until after Labor Day when I change it over for the Fall.......
I also decorate under the desk area........
A wood Apple Pie sign hangs from a porcelain knob with an apple painted on it......
Underneath the desk.......
On top of a vintage metal picnic basket, is a copper lantern and a red tea kettle with a floral arrangement that I made in it.............
On the floor is a vintage enamel pot, a tin and another canning jar......
Over to the right of the hutch........
The top half of this side of the wall looks like this.......
And the bottom half.......
A "Fresh Eggs" sign and a metal vintage tray......
Another canning jar filled with a floral arrangement hangs from a vintage style hook......
A chalkboard painted bread board that I wrote "Deb's Place" on it........

I hope you enjoyed seeing how this wall in my Kitchen looks normally.........
Whatever normal may be!!!!!!

I will be sharing more of my Kitchen in future posts.......

In my next post, I thought I better show you my "Sweet" Summer Tree in the Craft Room before Summer is over...........
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. I love red and yellow in your kitchen. Everything you have is neatly placed. I wish I could do that but with watching two grand girls during the week, I never have that order it seems. I have a border in my bedroom I was ready to pull down with the short drapes to match, guess I will keep it a little while longer. Love lace and I love roses, especially in the color red.

  2. I always wonder how your site loads up so quickly and so well with all the photos! My husband and I enjoy vintage things, too. We would have a hard time living in one of those minimalist homes, but I know I can get too cluttered. To each his own, I guess! :)

  7. I think styles simply circles around. I have to laugh at how popular mid century modern is. Been there, lived that! I know most antiques are not in style these days, but in my heart I believe they will be back. Classics never go out of style!
