I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Victorian Romance in the Dining Room, 2017

Welcome!!

This is a post I had planned on doing before I decorated for Halloween but never got around to it...

So I thought since I had all the photos taken, I would do it now and show you how our Dining Room changed when decorated for Halloween, before I decorate it for Christmas......

But first, I want to Thank Stacey over at Embracing Change, for featuring my post, An Evening Fall/Halloween Tour, from last week's Creative Inspirations Linky Party!!!
Thanks so much, Stacey!!

Please stop by and link up to this great party!!

I also want to Thank Gail, over at Purple Hues and Me, for choosing my post, A Halloween Funeral Basket, Poe and Pumpkins,  as one of her features from the Halloween Blog Hop!!
 Thanks so much, Gail!!

For Halloween inspiration for next year, please stop by and pin some of the links from the Halloween Blog Hop !!

If you have visited here before, you know that I always say I am a Victorian soul but I live in a townhouse built in the 1970's.....

My Dream House to live in would be a Queen Anne Victorian with a huge front porch....

Maybe in my next lifetime...

So in this lifetime, I have made our little townhouse into what I call my own Victorian Bed and Breakfast......

My Dining Room is the room that I think is the most Victorian looking.....

As I mentioned before, I will be sharing how the Dining Room looked for most of the Summer without any type of Holiday decorations........

And then comparing it to how it changed, decorated for Halloween.....

We will start in this corner of the Dining Room......
It took on a totally different look for Halloween......
I am going to let the photos do most of the talking......
The buffet......
My " Quote the Raven Nevermore" Halloween buffet.....
More of a romantic look.......
Joe's maternal grand parents......
Above the curio......
For Halloween.....

The top of the hutch.....
For Halloween....
My paternal grand parents......
This is one of 2 stained glass sun catchers that I bought in Gabes in the Summer for $5.00 each.....
I hung them on the window dividers that separate the Dining Room and Living Room.........
A table between the Dining Room and Living Room......
Decorated for Halloween......

In the corner......
My Halloween Tree......
The other sun catcher from Gabes......
Decorated for Halloween......
The large picture is an old Home Interiors item and is called "May I Play?"
Over in the corner........
By the Kitchen.....
Decorated for Halloween.....

My funeral basket......
Looking creepy for Halloween.....

Decorated for Halloween......

This week, Halloween will be packed away for another year and the Dining Room will once again be transformed for Christmas.......

This is the last post that I will be posting here on this blog until after the Christmas Holiday Season.....

My next post will be posted over on my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas.......

I  will be posting links here on this blog to all of my Christmas posts over on my Christmas blog.....

So I hope you will be back to visit again soon as I begin the Christmas Season of 2017 with a visit to Boscov's to see what they are offering for this Holiday season!!
And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

  7. I visit here so often - but I rarely comment simply because after thoroughly examining each and every one of the plethora of photos you so generously include in every post, I'm exhausted and just sigh and leave. I know. My mother would smack my hands for being discourteous to so marvelous a host!
I just read in your "about me" (I never clicked that before) that you are in the Pocono Mountain area. I lived there after retiring early from teaching and operated a Victorian bed and breakfast in a small tourist town called Jim Thorpe (formerly Mauck Chunk). I have always adored Victorian style - though my B&B was NOWHERE NEAR the fantastic fantasy world you've created! If I had known about your home when I lived there (LOL - before I fell in love, got married and moved to CT), I would have figured out some way to finagle an invitation for coffee to sit in your splendid dining room!
Forgive me my one comment which I'm sure has been stated by many others on many other posts: your Hallowe'en tree is the absolute best, bar none! Romantic, nostalgic, glamorous, pretty - and still unquestionably Hallowe'en! Brava!
I thank you for sharing your home - and I thank Beverly for introducing me (years ago LOL) to "you" via Beverly's Pink Saturday Blog Hop.
    Have a lovely weekend.

  10. Very lovely Debbie! I love all of the old photographs you used. And "Home Interiors", now that's a name I haven't heard in quite some time, but I certainly remember them and had some of their items. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us at Party in Your PJ's!

  11. Ooooooo I love vintage photos. They always tell such an interesting story. I bet your home never gets dusty Debbie, what with you moving all your lovely stuff around all the time. We hardly ever change our decor around and I'm forever dusting things off.
