I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

The Patio Project, My Side, Part 2, 2017

Welcome!

I want to Thank these hosts for featuring my post, Things are Starting to Bloom, from last week's parties.......

I want to Thank the Garden Hosts of the You Are The Star Party for choosing it as one of the Garden features for the month of April!!
Thanks Marci, over at Stone Cottage Adventures, and Angie, over at God.s Growing Garden!!!!

And I also want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for featuring it from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Party!!
Thanks so much, Bev!!

Please stop by and link up to these great parties!!

In my previous post, I shared all the painting that Joe and I did recently in our little Patio in the back of the house......
We painted the trim around the windows.......
And around the back door.......
And the back wall of the house.......
And some to the furniture that we have in the patio........
Click HERE if you missed that post.......

In this post, I will be sharing what I call my side of the Patio because this is where I sit.......
 This is my corner.......
The hanging pot is empty because this is where morning doves build a nest every year and we are hoping they come back this year.......
The wreath that is hanging here is also a new wreath that I made......
In a previous post , I shared several wreaths that I made for the Patio........

Click HERE if you missed that post.......
I also gave these pieces a fresh coat of paint......
This plant stand was painted a pretty blue.......
It will be some time before I plant my annuals because we are expecting temps. only in the high 50's to low 60's for the next 2 weeks with lows around 40 to high 30's!!!

I freshened up this table with a new coat of yellow paint.......
On the table is a stepping stone that my great niece Madalynn made for me!!
 Isn't she a cutie?
Here are the wreaths that I made hanging on the windows of the Den.......
I also painted the signs with our last name on them......
And all the brackets black.....
And the bell......
On the other side of my chair, is a wicker table.....

I also painted this chair that I use to hold a flower pot.........
The white trim around the windows and door looks so much better now that it has a fresh coat of gloss white paint!
Another sign with our last name on it hangs above the door.......
And a new wreath hangs on the door......
So that is my side of the Patio.......
As I mentioned, I still have to plant all my pots with annuals but that may not happen for another few weeks because of cooler temps. predicted and the threat of frost that still lingers.....

And once it gets warmer and drier, since we are stuck in a pattern of rain showers, we also plan on painting the concrete block that the patio sits on......

Soon, I will be sharing Joe's side of the Patio.......
So I hope you will come by and visit  again!!

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

  4. Your patio looks comfortable and inviting. The vivid colors bring a lot of cheer and energy to the space. It looks like a place where you would enjoy spending quiet hours reading or having conversations with friends and family. Looks like you've put a lot of work and love into making your patio a special place.

  8. What a beautiful retreat you created! What, hubby doesn't want to sit surrounded by all those pretty, feminine frills??? You certainly put a lot of work into this space. Love all of the details and the wreaths. I have yet to plant my annuals as well -- geeeeez! It's been colder here NOW than it was in January and February!! We've had frost advisories the past few nights so I'm HOPING by this weekend I can start planting. The summer growing season is so short that I like to get them in as soon as possible!

  9. Your corner of the patio is just how I imagine you to be Debbie. Fun, loving and filled with so many special things that most people won't be lucky enough to unearth. You are a very special lady in so many ways. Sending you lots of love and HUGE hugs from here in South Africa.
