 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my last post, I shared what I call "The Pirates Cove" area in my Living Room, which is now decorated for late Summer in an "Under the Sea" theme....

The top of the TV Entertainment Center which I like to treat as a "Mantel"

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

I want to Thank Andrea, over at the Cottage Market, for choosing my post, Falloween Hauls, New Dollar Tree Pricing and Gnome Garden Update, as one of her features from last week's Morning Cup of Joe Link Party!!

 Thanks so much, Andrea!!

Please stop by and link up to this wonderful party!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

Yesterday was the first day that I actually felt like myself and I went grocery shopping, to the Amish Farmer and then to Ocean State Job Lot....

I managed to go grocery shopping last week but came right home because I still was not feeling well....

I pray that this ends soon and I get some answers from my upcoming Dr.'s appointments but as you all know, nothing happens fast when it comes to heath care so I am sure I will be going for a battery of tests and what not ....

I did have a colonoscopy done 2 year ago...

But it has been awhile since I had a good workup done so I guess I will be getting one....

So far, so good today with how I feel....

At least, I felt well enough to change the Living Room over to my late Summer" Under the Sea" theme...

I do feel better if I am busy rather than just sitting around....

I started decorating in this theme when we were cleaning out my neighbor Elly's house and found boxes and boxes of shells that she had picked when she lived in Miami over the Winters....

Not only did she pick them on Miami Beach but she cleaned and organized them by size!!

Her sons were going to throw them away so I took them!

Now over the years, I have given a lot of the shells away including just a few weeks ago as our church's Vacation Summer Bible School's theme was "Under the Sea"!!!

I did make a lot of ornaments out of those shells which led to the whole "Under the Sea" theme.......

These are the clear plastic ornaments that I filled with the smaller shells.....

I also made other ornaments to decorate this Tree in an "Under the Sea" theme....

I did buy a few and and was also gifted some over the last few years....

I did use some of these ornaments on the garland on the "mantel" that I shared in my last post....

After stripping down the Tree to just the white lights, I added the garland that I made out of deco mesh.....

I also added a "garland" that is nothing more than a rope that I took out of my storage room.....

I hung this octopus ornament from the hook in the ceiling that was once used for a swag lamp....

I topped the Tree with greenery bought several years ago in Dollar Tree because I thought it looks like seaweed....

I made the bow out of white and aqua deco mesh ribbon.....

I also added some netting to the deco mesh ribbon....

And here she is all decorated but with the lights off....

And with the lights on....

I also decorate the platform that my Dad built for me 46 years ago for every Holiday and Season.....

I covered it with this plastic tablecloth that I bought in Dollar Tree....

And then set up the "Beach" underneath the Tree.....

On the left side of the Tree is a hurricane candle holder....

A sea horse and coral.....

I call this Aladin's lamp because that is what the boys used to call this brass tea pot that was my late husband Joe's grandmothers....

A shell that I embellished....

Sea shells and rocks from Miami Beach are scattered about....

The Ocean is that way.....

I placed a mail box cover that Joe bought in front of the Tree collar....

"Mermaids have more Fun"

Joe bought the Mermaid....

Driftwood, some shells I embellished and a Buoy bell ( I think that is what it is called)

On the right side of the Tree, is the lighthouse that I made, and the Nautical Pilings I made out of Pringles and other cans...

Another shell that I embellished.....

My late friend Anne Marie gifted me this piece of aqua coral....

The lighthouse that I made from clay pots....

Again, I left the white ceramic tree out.....

I may make some ornaments out of a few small shells to hang on it to make it look coastal....

So this is what my "Under the Sea" Tree and "Beach" looks like this year....

This year, I hung 2 shell ornaments on the valance on the Living Room window....

 I made the Mermaid plaque...

I also want to share how I decorated the faux window in this theme....

On the ottoman is a very old Thomas Kinkade throw with a lighthouse on it....

Some changes this year are that I again hung shell ornaments above the bells on each side....

And since I used the wreath that I normally hung here on top of the TV Entertainment Center, I had to come up with another wreath to hang here....

But first, let's take a look at the signs I hung....

I made the 2 on each end and embellished the Dollar Tree sign in the middle...

I made this tropical looking wreath many years ago and previously hung it in the downstairs hall....

I added a set of lights, a few shells and a fish in the middle to it....

I hung an embellished mini flag underneath it....

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I decorated this area in my Living Room in an "Under the Sea" theme....

Especially my Seasonal Tree......

I did have fun decorating in this theme!!

I hope you will stop by to visit again on MONDAY for my next post!!
