I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Today, we are staying here on my Regular Blog for this post as it is all about Thanksgiving and a few Halloween Clearance Buys!!!

 First of all, the Feast!!!

Even though I am now retired and do not have to work either the Eve or the Day nights of every Holiday, I still make my Dad's Sausage Filling on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving as it tastes better the day after....

All ready to go into the oven in a disposable tin foil pan.....

No way am I washing more dishes than I have to....

And out of the oven, looking mighty fine!!

If you are interested in the recipe, please click HERE!!

We went back to doing a turkey breast as a whole turkey is just a bit too much for us to handle and to eat!!

This is close to a 10 pound Turkey Breast....

I combine 3 sticks of butter, melted, and a package of Lipton Savory Herb with Garlic Soup and dip mix and that is what I baste the turkey with!!

 Here it is basted....

After the first half hour, I basted it again.....

And covered it for the remainder of the baking time except for basting it every 30-45 minutes....

In 4 1/2 hours, out it came!!

For Joe to carve.....

 He is a serious Carver.....

 Quite a bit of turkey....

And the breast bone is bagged and ready for soup to be made....

We are not big on baked goods and I have never ever baked a pie in my life as the only time we ever eat pie is for Thanksgiving Day....

Joe picked up this Price Chopper pie for only $6.99 as it was on sale....

And Price Chopper Lite Cool Whip.....

Only 20 calories per 2 tbsp....

Of course, Joe had to go out shopping in the morning and came home with these!

Now I can easily walk away from any type of baked goods and not even bat an eye but ice cream is a whole other story....

I was not going to get any ice cream this year but that went out the window!!!

My next door neighbor Mehrukh brought over this box of New York cheesecakes to wish us a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Now as I said, I can walk away from any type of baked goods but cheesecake is one of my weaknesses.....

Hopefully, the boys will have room after they eat all the turkey for some of these!!!

I am now down 34 pounds since June 1st.....

Hopefully, I will not gain any weight after today!!!

Tablescapes!!

Since Thanksgiving Dinner is one of the easiest Holiday Dinners for me to cook, I thought I would play this morning and threw together 2 Thanksgiving tablescapes even though all my Fall decorations are packed away....

This first one was inspired by these pretty paper, yes, paper, plates from Sam's Club!!!

I loved the turkeys on them!!

The pretty runner was given to me with a bunch of other ones by Trish, who bought the house next door to us and rents it to Mehrukh and her husband....

The gold branch tree is part of my Christmas decorations in the Dining Room....

The gold mercury glass candle holders came out of the Living Room Hutch....

No pumpkins or Fall decorations needed as our Thanksgiving in America is too late for the Harvest Season anyway....

Canada's Thanksgiving is in October which is more authentic!!

GIVE THANKS

GATHER

My vintage gold leaf tumblers...

And my gold flatware....

I hd fun doing this tablescape!!

Now this is my actual Tablescape for Thanksgiving Dinner!!!

In the glow of my Christmas decorations....

After all Santa comes today at the end of the Macy's Day parade!!

Again, GIVE THANKS and GATHER

 I used green charger plates....

And my white dishes with a gold trim bought at The Christmas Tree Shop for $1.00 each!!

Joe bought these napkins on Clearance several years ago and bought so many that I think I will have enough for one more Thanksgiving Day!!!

 LOL!

Joey made me move all this off the center of the table along with the charger plates because "You have to have room for the food"!

 LOL!!

With all my serving dishes on the table....

And with the food on the table!!!

 Everyone digging in!!

And this is all that was left from that almost 10 pound turkey breast!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed spending this Thanksgiving Day together as last year, I delivered food to Jim and Danielle because we feared that Joe had Covid because he was ill and we were isolating....

So this year we did GATHER and GIVE THANKS!!

And of course, I had to share these pictures of the grand pups....

 Faye took a nap....

And Azumi spent time with Uncle Joey!!

 Halloween Clearance Buys

Even though I gave Joe strict orders not to buy any Halloween decorations, Joe just can not help himself....

All of this cost only $2.00 as it was 90% off!!

I am not sure what the bar on top of this sign is for though!!

Again, Joe has strict orders not to buy anymore!!

I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving Day with those that you love!!

In my next post on SATURDAY, I will be returning to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas,to continue my Christmas Home Tour....
