I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

 I also want to

Thanks Julie, over at The Farm Wife, for choosing my post, Theme for 2021, as one of her features from last week's Fresh Farm Blog Hop!!

 Thanks again, Julie!!

Please stop by and link up to these  wonderful parties!!!

In my last post, I shared that I did some Winter Crafting over the weekend and all of what I made ended up in the Kitchen..

Click HERE if you missed that post.....

I had already taken all the pictures and edited them for this post so I am just going to show you a few pics of what I changed after I did some crafting......

In a previous post, I shared this area of the Kitchen......

Click HERE if you missed that post.....

We will start here by the stove.....

On the side of the stove.....

Hanging this grater as a towel holder was one of the projects I did over the weekend.....

I won't take credit for this idea as I saw it on Pinterest.....

I bought the grater at Dollar Tree.....

Winter florals are tucked into my vintage Planter's Peanuts canister along with my collection of rolling pins, some vintage.........

Valentine's towels hang from a magnetic towel bar on the side of the stove....

Above the stove......

I took a picture from a calendar and framed it.....

Vintage potholders with hand made hearts and heart magnets that I crocheted a VERY long time ago on the hood....

Plaid towels with a Winter towel with pine cones on it....

On the counter next to the stove.....

 A Winter bird house potholder.....

I bought the " Let It Snow" block at Dollar Tree in November....

Where my Kitchen window used to be before we made the Patio into the Den.....

I do love to decorate this area, treating it as if it was still a window.....

I made the valance out of a new tablecloth last year....

This Winter swag was one of the craft projects that made for the Kitchen........

I hung heart ornaments from the gingerbread fretwork......

This is a picture I took after I added the wooden snow flakes that I painted behind the bird houses that I hung from the valance creating a back ground to make the bird houses pop......

See the difference?????

I hung fabric hand made hearts that I bought at a church flea market from the tea cup chandy that I made.....

The red chandy beads hang here year round......

In the center, I hung a red cardinal in a dome ornament and a letter "D" ornament that amazingly has  red cardinals on it!!

So I thought I was done when I took this picture......

Then I made these......

From these......

So this is now what this area looks like.....

On the old window sill.......

Inside the jars that I bought a long time ago, is a Winter scene with a red cardinal and bottle brush trees.....

A red house ornament on top of the jar.....

Winter red berries, pine cones and a snow man head.....

I kept out the Vintage Tree that I found in my neighbor's attic and had decorated with candy ornaments for Christmas.....

I placed it in a wooden basket that has a Winter cardinal scene painted on it that I bought at a church flea market.....

And I decorated it with red hearts and tin cardinal ornaments found in the Dollar Bins at Michael's a few years back.....

It is lit with a set of battery operated lights set on a timer......

I made the "scarf' for the sill from the same tablecloth that I used to make valances and a curtain for the Kitchen.....

This sweet snow man with a basket of hearts was a gift from a friend.....

Another jar with another ornament placed on top of it.....

Again, how this area looks now......

You can see that I truly have very little counter space.....

In the corner......

The wire tea cup in the corner on top of a cookie jar.....

After looking around, thinking where in the world will I put this tea pot, I simply placed it on top of the wire tea cup.....

Like I have said before, I am amazed at how many more ideas I get now that I am not in such a hurry and stressed out because I had to go to work!!!!

Again, I framed another picture from a calendar......

This Winter wreath was another one of my weekend projects....

I moved the snow man pot holders here, hanging them on the handles of the cabinet doors.....

I used a muffin pan from Dollar Tree.....

I saw a picture of a muffin pan painted like this on Pinterest so I can not claim this as my own idea....

My Beverage area......

I left up the Hot Cocoa sign after Christmas.....

The Winter birds quilted place mat is identical to the one on the desk area of the hutch in the Kitchen.....

A snow man tea pot on top of a red heart plate.....

Hot cocoa, flavored tea bags, marshmallows and peppermint sticks.....

The top of the refrigerator.....

A cardinal tea kettle......

An Angel with cardinals on it....

A cardinal crackle glass candle with battery operated fairy lights inside of it and a bird house on top of it....

A vintage Lefton red cardinal pitcher......

This is where I used some of the wooden and paper mache snow flakes that I painted over the weekend......

I hung these 2 with the Scrabble pieces spelling Snow Flake in the door way from the Kitchen to the Dining Room

Joey is the only one that  has to be careful when walking through.....

Looking into the Kitchen from the Dining Room......

 The counter bar area.....

I kept the garland up after Christmas......

And hung red plaid ornaments from it for Winter.....

I also added bows made from red plaid and cardinal ribbon......

And I added some of the snow flakes that I painted......

The snow man hats and owls were bought at Dollar Tree and the bird house and ball ornaments were bought at Big Lot's.....

This was a pass through to the Dining Room that I now treat like a window.....

On the red mercury glass candle holders......

Are more red cardinals......

A snow globe.....

And a globe ornament........

Those are vintage crocheted rose doilies....

A cardinal and pine cone pick tucked in to the reproduction coffee grinder....

For Winter, I could not find a red plaid runner for the counter bar but I did find a red plaid rag rug .....

I will use this until the beginning of February when I will replace it with a red and white checked one with hearts on it for Valentine's Day.....

I made the curtain to cover the storage area under the microwave.....

On the side of the counter bar......

I bought this cute sign in Dollar Tree in November.....

Notice the black ice skate ornaments hanging to the right of the sign.....

And I left out the Coffee and Hot Cocoa sign after Christmas.....

And that completes my tour of the Kitchen decorated for Winter with a touch of Valentine's.....

In my next post, I  will be sharing the Dining Room decorated for Valentine's and the month of February which is American Heart Month......

  1. Another amazing display. I love the grater and how you embellished it, along with the vintage pot holders. A wonderful mixture of Winter and Valentines, the combination is to be admired. Love it all, worth all the hard work.

  3. I love the way you framed those two cardinal calendar pages. They are definitely pretty enough to frame. Your cocoa bar looks so inviting and I love those little snow men potholders hanging above the cocoa bar. I have that same red toaster. Everything looks so pretty. Have a good day.
