I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Front Yard Update with a few Patriotic Touches, 2017

Welcome!!

Today I will be sharing a few Patriotic touches that I added to the front yard and also give you an update on how my flowers are growing.......

In my last post, I shared our Patriotic Front Porch.......
Click HERE if you missed that post.......

We'll start with taking a closer look at the pots on the front porch.......
The marigolds and the begonias are doing okay........
 Before.......
The begonias in this pot are filling in.....
The dusty millers are growing........
 So is this marigold......
 Before......
These 2 planters in front of the railing are coming along nicely........
 Before....
And that is how everything is doing on the front porch..........

This is the small flower bed under our Living Room window.......
You can see that the 4 begonias that I planted in the flower boxes on each side of the flower bed are filling in nicely!!
 Before....
The marigolds in the small Dollar Tree pots are doing well.......
 Before......
The 2 urns that I rescued from the garbage ( our church was throwing them out) stand on the wall between our townhouse and my neighbor's.........
Another flower box sits between the urns and seems to be doing better than the other one because it gets more sun.......

The urns are planted with marigolds and begonias.......
 Before......
You can see that I added flags for a touch of Patriotism.......
This is our front yard that rests on top of the slope that rolls down to our parking lot......
The begonias are doing well in these 2 pots....
 Before......
I love to decorate the park bench.....
 More flags......
Again, the marigolds and begonias are doing well......
 Before......
 A Patriotic mini flag.......
And that is my Update in how my flowers are growing in the front yard.......
I hope you also enjoyed seeing the Patriotic touches I added to celebrate the 4th of July.......

So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

  1. It is amazing how fast the flowers grow isn't it, I usually make up my own pots too, it is cheaper than buying them already full!

  17. Did I just see the cutest little frog lounging on a chair? Where did you get him Debbie, he's adorable? I love how it only takes a few weeks and all the pots have filled up with gorgeous blooms. Those begonia's look like they want to explode out of their pots. You've definitely got a green thumb
