Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....
I
feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin
Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I
was....
I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS
I
enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and
commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have
a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to
spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

In my last post, I shared the Beverage Bar area and Counter Bar in my Kitchen decorated now for Early Summer.....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!
I want to thank her for sharing both
these pictures....
Thanks so much, Lisa!!
I
want to Thank Joy, over at Days Filled With Joy, for choosing my post, Bright and Cheery Patio, Part 2 as one of her features from last week's
Home Matters Link Party!!

Thanks again, Joy!!
And Thanks
to Andrea, over at The Cottage Market, for choosing my post, Bright and Cheery Patio, Part 2, as one of her features from last week's A Morning Cup of Joe Link Party!!

Thanks so much, Andrea!!
Please stop by and link up with these great parties!!
And now for a few Personal Notes...
My
next door neighbors were going away for the weekend so Mehrukh brought
over these beautiful roses that she knew would be dead by the time they
came back home....

She thought I would enjoy them...
Ironically, I was
just going to change out a Patriotic tablecloth on the Dining Room table
for a pink one...

I thought this floral one would look great with these
beautiful pink and yellow roses!!!

They will definitely brighten up our
weekend meals!!

That was so kind of her....
My son Joey emailed me a recipe that I shared over 4 years ago but I did not have a crock
pot at the time....
So I decided to make it for dinner the other evening....
Chicken Spaghetti but I used fettucine noodles....
It is really very good!!!
Today, I will be finishing up the tour of my Kitchen decorated for Early Summer....
The final area I want to share is this wall that I call the focal wall of my Kitchen.........
It serves no purpose other than decoration and to make me smile!!!
To the left of the Hutch.....
I hung a valance that I made out of a tablecloth.....
This is a Victorian thing, as they frequently hung drapes and valances between rooms, that I do it because of the different wall colors in the hallway and Kitchen...
Some vintage pieces on the shelf that my Dad made for me.....
A vintage apron and sifter......
The phone was my late neighbor Elly's and would actually work if I had a land line still hooked up.....
On the side of the Hutch and above the Tree....
I bought this sign in Big Lot's, which I sorely miss as none of the stores by me reopened under the new owners.....
I decided to leave up the Kitchen Tree year round....
The chalkboard to the left of the Tree.....
A vintage loaf pan and milk bottles from a local dairy that is still in business.....
When I realized that I was hauling the Tree up the attic after Easter only to bring it back down again in mid July when I decorated it in my Late Summer theme of Apples and Sunflowers.....
I thought that was a bit stupid on my part.....
This yellow milk can is what I replaced the Tree with for those 5-6 weeks with....
I took out the floral arrangement and lighted branch and moved the milk can over in this corner by the stove.....
I took the lighted branch and I placed it in this large vase in the Living Room.....
I took the floral arrangement from the milk can apart and used the red and yellow roses to decorate The Tree.....
I made a bow for the top of the Tree using red and white stripped ribbon, that I bought on Clearance after Christmas, along with some yellow checked ribbon that I had left over from other bows I made....
I also tucked a few yellow florals from the arrangement into the Tree....
Last year, I bought red metal lady bugs and yellow bees in Dollar General which I now added to the Tree....
I also tucked a few leaves into the Tree....
I am happy with how it came out and by keeping it up year round, it will save me a lot of time and effort........
I decided to do something completely different with the Hutch......

Sticking with the Roos/Hens and Bee theme in the Kitchen for Early Summer....
I left the yellow pitcher and enamelware coffee pot on the top after Easter.....

A few vintage pieces.....
The pictures are from Home Interiors.....
These shelves are done completely different from last year....
I used Bee dishes from Dollar Tree, some Roos/Hens pieces and vintage Kitchen items....
Top shelf....
An egg tray , bought at Michael's, on top of a vintage bowl, with a cardboard egg holder behind the tray....
A vintage glass canister filled with cookie cutters....
The bottom shelf....
This beautiful pitcher was gifted to me by my late friend Anne Marie along with the Bee coasters....

A vintage green bowl filled with some vintage kitchenware....

I am really happy with how it looks.....

Since it is strawberry picking time here in NEPA, I decided to do a Strawberry vignette on the desk area of the hutch, even though I do not like strawberries....
On the left side....
I recently bought this strawberry plate and a set of salt and pepper shakers in Gabes.....
I had a $5 off $25 coupon....

You may remember that I made these strawberries in the basket out of styrofoam eggs a few years back....
I bought this lidded strawberry dish at a church flea market 2 years ago....

The tea pot and tea and toast sets were gifted to me by my late friend Anne Marie....
The tea pot was placed on top of a reproduction Campbell's Strawberry Preserves tin....
Did you know that before Campbell's was known for soup....
"Campbell's origins can be traced back to 1869 when Joseph Campbell, a fruit merchant, and Abraham Anderson, a canner, partnered to form the Joseph Campbell Preserve Company in Camden, New Jersey. "
Some faux treats...
On the right side....

The strawberry florals, around the vintage milk glass lamp, are Home Interiors.....
And I always decorate under the desk....
A Hen sign hangs from the drawer knob.....
More red roses, from the floral arrangement that was in that milk can, placed inside a container that I spray painted copper.......
The Hen tray in front of the vintage metal picnic basket was also bought at a church flea market....
A Fresh Egg sign hangs from another drawer knob.....
On the other shelf, that my Dad made for me, is a green yellow ware bowl filled with wooden apples and a vintage canister set.........
The glasses are vintage Vasoline glass and will glow under a UV light because of the uranium that they were made with...
The roses are just lovely!! How nice of your neighbor to share them. That crockpot meal does look good. I like using a crockpot when it's hot outside so my oven isn't heating the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteHens and eggs just belong in a kitchen, don't they. And your red and yellow theme coordinate with them perfectly. Your kitchen looks terrific.
Hi Deb, I am a couple days behind in reading!
ReplyDeleteLove that your sweet neighbors shared the roses, they are beautiful with your pretty table cloth!
Kitchen is festive and bright, enjoying your decor from afar!
Hugs, Barb
