And my Counter Bar.....
Click HERE if you missed that post!!
I want to Thank Barb, over at French Ethereal, for choosing my post, Gifts from Hospice and July 4th Celebration, as one of her features from the last Share Your Style Link Party!!!
Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!!
It was a day with low humidity and clouds so my "Chankles" are not too swollen....
We do get a day or two in between days of excessive humidity when it does drop down to the "comfortable " level.....
Also on 2 of those days, I was able to do some work in the front and back yards....
This pot of marigolds is on the front porch and reseeded itself....
A new marigold was growing in the crack of the sidewalk so I transplanted it into the first flower box here in front of the porch railing as I lost one of the marigolds because I thought it would rain one day and it did not and it dried up before I could water it.....
Also on the front porch are these 2 small pots of impatiens.....
One the side of the porch.....
The 4 coleus plants in this long flower box are doing great!!!
The flower bed under the Living Room window....
The marigolds are doing well and hopefully, they will make the transition into Fall so I will not have to buy Mums!!
My stacked pots on the side on the retaining wall are doing fantastic!!!!
I have been cutting pieces of coleus off the front one and transplanting them out in pots in the back yard.....
The impatiens in this round pot on a stand in the center are really thriving...
The coleus in the stacked pot in the back does not get as much Sun so it is not as big at the one in the pot in the front.....
The front flower bed along the sidewalk.....
At the one end.....
The begonias are going strong in this black urn....
And so are the white impatiens in this red vintage watering can....
On the park bench.....
You can see how well these 3 pots are doing!!
I decided to change things out under the bench......
This is how it looked for actually several years now.....
It was a tribute to my Fur Babies that passed away with the stone saying " My Beloved Pet"
I moved these items out to the back yard ....
And I brought a Pittsburgh Penguins garden rock and paver that my son Joey gifted his Dad...
Along with a Pittsburgh Steeler's Gnome and a Pittsburgh Penguin's Gnome that Joe had bought in Five Below several years ago.....
I positioned these 2 spot light Sunflowers from Dollar Tree so they light up this area in the evening.....
I think Joe would like this Homage to his Love of all Pittsburgh Sports.........
Speaking of that, my oldest son Joey has booked a trip to Pittsburgh for a few days to see a Pittsburgh Pens Hockey game in memory of his Dad.....
It became an annual tradition for Joe and Joey to spend some Father and Son time traveling to Pittsburgh to see a game and take in some of the attractions when Joe retired.....
I think it is something that Joey needs to do as part of his own personal grieving process.....
I also did a bit trimming of the forsythia because in this heat, everything is growing so fast!
These begonias are thriving too!!
Now "when there is a will, there is always a way..."
I needed to cut down the flowers that loomed on my next door neighbor's hostas on the slope along with a few things including weeds on my own slope....
Joe used to climb the slope to do so...
And I can do that BUT because of the copperhead snake sightings we had along the retaining wall and slope, I will not do that until the Fall when it gets below 50 degrees and any snakes will go dormant....
So what did I do???
I used my Tree Lopper!!
I worked from the parking lot and from the top of the slope and managed to cut everything back that I had too!!!
I hope to be able to cut back the hostas in the Fall myself but if not, I will ask a former neighbor who own the landscape business that takes care of the grounds of the apartment complex next to me in which both my sons live in.....
Trish, who owns the house next to me, and I plan on hiring him next Spring to put down the mulch on our slope and front flower beds...
It was hotter than I thought so I will cut back the primrose here another time when it is cooler....
There are some asters mixed in with the primrose....
I am happy that the Rose of Sharon Tree, that was a sprout from my neighbor Ed's ones in his yard, has taken and is blooming nicely....
It is a descendant of the those that my Dad had in our back yard when I was a child.....
And the loosestrife that I also transplanted from Ed's yard is doing well this year.....
Hopefully, soon, I can cut down the primrose and freshen this flower bed up a bit more....
I hope you enjoyed seeing my Mid Summer up date of my front Yard and more.....
On SATURDAY, for Saturday Snippets, I will be sharing how my back yard cottage garden looks now in Mid Summer.....
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

Everything looks beautiful! You have a green thumb for sure. Copperhead snake? I’d be inside till Fall. Debby doesn’t do snakes!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Begonias Debbie! Your hostas are huge! It has been so hot here and we had a grasshopper invasion too. They ate a lot. We have rattlesnakes here too. I am always watching for them. I am glad you were able to get what you wanted done!
ReplyDeleteWith this heat and humidity I've pretty much left my gardens to fend for themselves (though I do go out and water the few pots we have around). I feel like I need just one or two cool mornings to get some real weeding done though as they are really starting to take over. Your yard (and all around your yard) is looking lovely!!
ReplyDeleteGosh, you have been working hard in this heat for those gorgeous flowers! Everything looks just stunning. Your homage for Joe is just so sweet. I know he likes it. And what a great place to gaze on the short spurts we can tolerate this summer outdoors. I hear next week is even hotter here and personally, I AM OVER IT.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful! I enjoyed this garden tour.
ReplyDeleteAll the flowers and coleus are lovely! Thanks for sharing with us at SSPS, we sure appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful! A lot of container plants…a woman after my own heart. One of these years, I guess I will have to start using drip irrigation.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!! I like container planting because then you can move them around to different places if need be....
DeleteHugs,
